  1. This is going to be a long 6 months.....l I can't wait!
  2. Once again, loved the mecha and artistic design..........the rest was poo. Turning a plane into a flying fish....amazing. I can't wait till Shoji turns a destroid into a magical hamster in the next Macross series.
  3. Here's a pic of the custom 1/60 streak eagle that I painted. I know, it's nothing fancy, but thought I'd post it anyway....sorry for the bad picture, had to use my phone camera and it isn't the best.
  4. FYI, the SU-33's are out, there's three versions available at flyingmule.com. Just ordered mine, can't wait to get it. Yes, the static gear sucks on gaincorp. But you can modify them to an in-flight mode, it works pretty well and it takes less time than building an entire model from scratch.
  5. Does anyone here have a copy of the original version with narration on dvd (pretty sure it's a bootleg)? There's a bunch floating around on ebay and I was just wondering if the quality of these are good or not. I don't wanna buy something is the transfer wasn't good.
  6. Amen, Spielberg's about the only guy you can trust nowadays NOT to ruin a franchise.
  7. Ok, I will agree that it probably wasn't as bad as Alien Resurrection...but good movie? Come on, so many of the different scenes in there, he ripped off from some other franchises. When you watch it, it WILL remind you of a lot of different movies, no originality. The action, artistic approach was good for what it was (I did enjoy the visuals and the action) but there's no substance underneath that. And as I mentioned before, I felt embarrassed that movie had to spell out everything for me. As if they felt I wasn't smart enough to follow this shallow plot, they literally have someone explain word for word the entire plot of this movie all the way through. I also felt some of the roles were picked wrong....the main actress did in no way fit the title/role she was suppossed to be in the film. The Predators seemed too nice/dumb towards the later part of the movie. Spoiler here: The part were the girl puts on the armor that the Predator makes for her from the alien was the stupidest idea ever put on film! Enough said.
  8. This movie sucked!!!!! I was as pissed as anyone here when I heard all you people moaning and bitching about a movie you haven't even seen yet....and I'm even more pissed now that you were right!! I really wanted all of you to be wrong, but you weren't. The little bit of plot this movie has (which is none) is spelled out to you like you're some kind of twelve year old (sorry to all you 12 year olds out there, but in a few years, you'll know what I'll mean). What a waste.
  9. Ok, I'm not as harsh as you guys, I'm a huge SW fan and will never rip on Lucas.....but even I had a little chuckle when I read this. This is hilarious.
  10. Not a lot of gunfights but there's some great hand to hand fighting. It's very fast and "practical" No somersaulting, double backflip kicks that would never work. Just saw it again and I kind of agree that the camera was a little annoying at times during the fights. However, it really adds an edge and some suspense to the movie I think. Makes it seem more raw.
  11. Saw the bourne supremacy this weekend and I've got to say I really liked it a lot. Anyone else see this yet? It's refreshing for me to watch the bourne movies. They're so not Bond like, I'm really sick of the stupid plots, ridiculous explosions, etc, etc that movies are about nowadays. They're all so cheesy, campy, and shallow. Anyway, I feel these Bourne movies take themselves seriously and are really exciting to watch. That's my 2 cents.
  12. Just saw this movie too. Totally agreed with Warrhead. Loved the style but the dialogue was a little blah. It was refreshing though to see a movie that was "different" from all the other rehashed crap out there. The movie also reminded me of dune. I'd say a rental movie for sure. Might even buy it just because I like the Riddick saga.
  13. Hi, I just downloaded Episode 4. However, when I try to play it, only the sound works, no picture. It says on the bottom "error downloading codec". Anybody have any suggestions to fix this? I'm somewhat computer illiterate.
  14. Wonderful news, congratulations!!
  15. I have to agree on how ugly those "big birthing hips" are. Looks like she could pop out at least 10 little baby VF-O's. Seems odd that with all the advancements in toys lately, something this unsightly (the hips) would be made.
  16. Just got one last week. It's a good model, definetely could have a few things improved such as the large gap for the cockpit to slide through & the crappy lights in the front, but I'm happy with it. Does anyone know if they're coming out with anymore 1:18 Batman diecast vehicles?
  17. Hey, just wondering if anyone if anyone can point me to a good Batman forum or news site? Thanks.
  18. This pic of the Revell diecast is fairly expensive and you'll probably have to get it from overseas as not too many stores (none that I found) carry it in the U.S. Your're going to pay about $50 plus shipping for this model. I collect Dragon and Corgi diecast aircraft, these are generally agreed upon as being the best quality diecast around. Gaincorp isn't too bad either but tend to have some inaccuracies. BTW, Corgi has an F-14 1/64 diecast out that you can pick up for about $24 from some domestic sellers that is a decent model. I have it and I like it. Here's a link to one of them: F-14 diecast Corgi
  19. I don't care what anyone thinks about Star Wars (the movies). You have to admit that their fighters are the best (or at least that they're very good).
  20. My opinion is that this all comes down to the quantities produced of a recast and as previously discussed, whether or not this item is still being made as an original. First of all, I agree that the item should be out of production. However, if you're recasting an item (that's out of production) and making tons of copies of it, making a large profit, and even perhaps advertising this recast, that's pushing it in my mind. But if it's done in small quantities, minimal profit margin, & when there is a demand and no product to buy.....I don't see a problem. Just look at antiquities, there are so many copies of antiquities out there, are they all wrong or unethical because they copied something? I sure don't think so. Also, Macross/collecting in general is not my life. I don't have thousands of dollars sitting around that I can spend on extremely rare items as I'm sure most of you don't either. I can't afford to buy some of these originals and I never will be able to. If people want the "exclusives" and have the money, let them buy the originals. But let recasts be made for the rest of us. I don't think that because I'm not rich, I shouldn't be able to enjoy an item or a copy of an item. The originals will always be worth more than the recasts and be more sought after anyway, I don't think anyone doubts that. And I have to say Grayson has a point, we're talking about "toys/collectibles" here. Let's not get too worked up over this. BTW, people said CD sales were going to plummet because of file sharing....they didn't. I think this is similar. Recasts can create an excitement in collecting and inspire others to get involved in a genre or even modeling itself. That is a good thing. All in all, if done in moderation and when there is no product available, recasting is great in my eyes.
  21. Hey guys, got a bunch of Anasazi's decals and was going to start applying them on my 1/60 valks. Question, is it best to clearcoat the whole valk afterwards or can I get away with just brushing clearcoat over the decals themselves to "seal" them in. Does anyone have any experience with this? Also, is there a particular clearcoat that I should use for these or are they pretty much all the same? Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciatted since I'd like to start on these soon!
