  1. I've got the same problem, sounds like it's universal. And I've also tried "smashing" the pilot in, but it always takes shape again and an hour later the canopy is up. Sorry, no help but at least you know you're not alone
  2. Graham, you rock! I'm all for someone losing thier house if it means I'll get a Konig Monster....sorry.
  3. Yeah thanks for all the work so far also! I personally have no problem waiting a bit for this. As long as the project doesn't get shelved and forgotten about.... And thanks again to the owner of this piece allowing this recast to happen!
  4. I think it looks great, nice job!
  5. I'm getting interested in starting Macross resin kits. There are a lot of different kits out there available for Macross mecha that haven't been made into toys or plastic models yet. Basically what I'm interested in these resin kits that have not been produced as a toy or model yet (I'm not talking different schemes either, I'm talking different products). What I've found so far that interests me is: 1/72 fan racer 1/72 SF-3A Lancer 1/100 VF-5000B Variable S.H.E. 1/100 Pheyos Valkyrie S.H.E. 1/100 VA-3 Intruder S.H.E. The upcoming Monster project (Can't wait!) The upcoming VF-4 project (Can't wait again! ) I know a lot of these are really rare and they'll be hard to find (I don't care if they're recasts though). Are there any other resin kits out there that anyone knows of that I could add to my list? I've only been interested in Macross stuff for about 2 years now, so I know I've missed a lot of stuff that's out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
  6. I would also love for yamato to make these. It's so expensive to buy resin kits or recasts of these resin valks. Not to mention the time needed in then building them. I think some of the problem with Macross toys is that so much of it is the same mold, just different colors of products. That's great but I think these would sell well if Yamato made them, they're something different.
  7. I expressed interest earlier in a post and was included in the list as maybe. After all this excitement, I'm pumped so count me in for one of the VB-6's and one of the VF-4's for sure. Thanks and I can't wait till the details get hammered out. Any idea once a recaster is picked and the molds are done, how long it'll take to crank out some recasts? What I mean is: if there are like 30 VB-6's are ordered by everyone, is it going to take a matter of weeks or months to fill all the orders? Just curious, thanks.
  8. The 1/72 Hase mig-29 MO kit is really good, I'd recommend that. But like David said, the tomcat version of this isn't very good.
  9. If we can get the price around $200 or so I may be interested, but I will need to know how much this will cost before I am committed to buying one. Also am interested in more info about the VF-4. Thanks too to everyone's work so far in this project and I think this is a great idea also, makes collecting fun.
  10. Off topic, but any info about the ships (from the "Alien" series) that are shown in this link?
  11. I love the 1/60's too, can't afford to keep up with the 1/48's. I need food and shelter more than toys unfortunately. That's why I like Yamato's decision to make the 1/100 zero toys too. They're giving us something we can affort to collect multiple color schemes in.
  12. I agree with skunkobot. TF's are something different and that's what I love about them. I also like the fact that they're somewhat clunky/boxy looking, it's a nice contrast to Macross designs which are obviously sleeker. I think another appeal about TF's (depending on the series of course) is that they change into "real" things: cars, trucks, etc. A kid can see a jeep on the road and his imagination will go wild thinking about it transforming. Sure Macross stuff is similar to real-life designs but it's a little different. I love both TF's and Macross. Anyway, there's my 2 cents.
  13. I'm building a custom 1/60 valk, the dark blue version that is briefly seen. Took it apart and started painting it.....paint is not sticking/staying. It's beading up like there's some kind of residue on the toy (but I actually don't think it's from a residue). Question: will a coat of primer deal with this and stick or will it also bead up. I was under the impression that primer will stick much better than paint. I'd appreciatte some help, thanks!
  14. Is the black that's shown around the canopy on the second "lightened up" picture part of the color scheme or is it a shadow. Probably a dumb question since I'm pretty sure it's part of the color scheme and is similar to existing aircraft marking. I'm doing this custom right now and I wanna be sure. Also, looks like the feet are painted too, huh? Anyways, thanks.
  15. I'm starting to get into building model aircraft again (since there's only so many diecast aircraft made). Is there any good forums out there that any of you know of for model aircraft? Specifically if they have reviews and new news topics, that's all I really want. Thanks and yeah, this probably should've been in the "other" section but I wanted all you modelers to see this so I can get some good feedback
  16. Thanks, I'm curious as to what makes the AMT model so bad, cause I am thinking about getting these.
  17. Looking great, nice to see some updates being done in the review department also!
  18. Great idea, would love to see it!
  19. Wow, great stuff. Any chance you'd lend those studio-half eye kits for some recasts?? (yeah I know, wishful thinking)
  20. So is the 1J head mostly brown then like the 1A? Any pics?
  21. Going to start my brown 1/60 VF-1J custom and was just wondering if the scheme was similar to Kakikaze's valk or the cannon fodder valk. I haven't seen the TV episode where this appears so I'm looking for some help here, thanks.
  22. Yes, really sweet looking stuff guys, thanks for showing pics!
  23. Thanks for all the info so far. The reason I was asking about these is I'm really interested in the VF-5000B, Pheyos valk, VA-3, & VF-4G and I wasn't able to find any other models of these around (ones that transform). Are there any other transforming versions of these valks out there that I'm not aware of?? Or does anyone know if these are going to be made into toys sometime in the future.
