I guess it"s time to list that PS4 I have....

I started building one. (Atmosphereic Booster). Here are the problems I encountered. Frist the thing is HUGE! That is if you keep it exactly to 1/72 scale. Second - There isn't much line art to go by so like Valkyrie said...a lot of guess-work. Third - My sratch built one was not made of resin, (Styrene, Plastic and Clay) and it was friggin heavy. Doing it in resin would have almost doubled or tripled the weight. Fourth - The legs of the Valkyrie. I imagine you could built it with the legs bent like they are supposed to.....but I didn't. I basically built a set of legs , filled them with putty so they were solid and attached them flush to the booster where they should be. Basically when it was finished you could just set a Hase in there and close the lid. The project got to be too much for me and I knew that I would have to charge an arm and a leg to sell them...plus the shipping....yikes...so it was abandoned. I would love to see someone else take up this project....if anyone wants my notes I would be more than happy to share.

Do we have any rough prices on this? just a Ball-Park figure. I am really interested in getting this, but before I commit 100% to it i need to know a price. Rob

I know I have said alot about up-coming resin kits. Alot of stuff has happened. Illnesses and accidents that have happened over the past year. Also trying to get the 1/100 Fighter Pod Licenced by Big West...which BTW I was successful in doing! But I can say that we have started the QF-3000E Ghost 1/72. Release is un-determined...definately after WF. It is coming...and reasonably priced as well. Anyway back on topic. 1. 1/72 Booster - The large One. Sad to say...it happens all the time. Being a teacher here in Japan I am subject to many 'a finger prods. Especially when I teach at the Elementry School. Most of my students know NOT TO DO IT NOW, but I still get it. It's a term of endearment I guess. Do they make kevlar butt armor? Where it is from....havn't a clue, but it's been around for awhile. But if they do it and you are caught off guard...it is quite amusing (to the one doing the prodding), and quite embarassing to the prodee (?) Rob (Violated) MN

Well after reading alittle. Yamato looks like they are going to sell the VF-0S at around 4000 - 5000 yen. Graham can probably confirm it. But the basic jist of the article is they wanted to cut down on the price so they lowered the scale. Man that thing is going to be tiny. Kinda like a Banpresto or something. But it will be cool. I will probably buy 2 or 3. One of which will customize. Rob

Rick - I did get him his own Valk...a VF-19 Bootleg...it is also destroyed. My son is a Valk-Killer! Or really likes to play real-world style. Thinking back I did give all of my toys battle damage. Seemed more fun. Zentrandude - Yeah they were pretty clean except for a few scuffs and stains which I cleaned alittle when I was assessing the damage. The pic really doesn't show everything well and the flash brighted all of the dirty parts. I must say that after falling 10 stories, it is suprizingly in good shape. Mostly hinges and moving parts were damaged. The legs are completely intact. The Armor did come off but remained undamaged. I have been looking at it and I must say I am now impressed with the durability of this toy. Maybe Yamato is making improvements and sturdier designs. Maybe my son should go work for Yamato as a toy tester. He could even get his own sticker or label: "Approved by "D" - 10 story drop certified" (BTW "D" is for Daisuke - my loving child's name ) Rob MN

I was thinking about doing some sort of custom with the parts. I have an extra VF-1A TRU that is broke as well. (Yamato poor quality breakage) . It would be cool if Yamato would do something like that..but I doubt it. Yamato doesn't do anything to help it's customers really. I have since boxed up all my toys so my son can't get to them. I only have minor stuff displayed now. Man my office looks bare! Rob

Mods I know this is off topic, but if you could please leave it up for a few hours I would be very grateful! (Insert bowing asian emtiocon) Okay here is the deal. I currently use Windows XP Japan version. I hate it, can't read half the Kanji I just got an English version Xp. Now here is the question. Since I already have XP and basically want to re-install the same version can I just pop in the disc and install? Or do i have to uninstall the current XP and re-install . Or will I loose everything? That sounds completely gross! But yeah I have done similar stuff in my single days. My personal favorite is taking Instant ramen, mix in A-1 Steak sauce, mayonaise and grated cheese and some mushrooms. Kinda like spaghetti I guess? Be careful with that expired cheese...you may pay for it tomorrow!
