  1. Reads @jenius’s Tread review. Looks at the score given. Nods head in agreement. One little thing I’m not sure anyone has pointed out yet: the head of the Tread peaks out just a smidge ever so slightly up in combo mode. Not glaringly obvious. But it’s most likely due to the bomber cockpit being inside the chest for the combo mode.
  2. As mentioned in the Mospeada thread, the top part of my stand connector sheared off and got stuck in the Tread attachment. I put plastic bonder on it. And I added adhesive putty to the separate Legioss attachment point. After about a week, it all seems to be holding: The wing did wind up dipping to the ground, but everything seems to still be holding. Probably better to leave well enough alone, rather than try to tweak it more.
  3. ^^Customized. There’s a separate thread down in this section of the forum with tons of pics (including WIP ones) and probably an equal number of words, comments, and rants from me. 😅
  4. I shudder to think what price they’d toss out there for a Tread. The Sentinel and Toynami ones are already big bois themselves. We’d be getting into impractical sizes for a Tread at this scale. But despite some flaws, it’s minor miracles we got these well thought-out designs and improvements on the Holy Combo from Sentinel :
  5. Maybe they didn’t push the arm boosters down all the way. But they couldn’t make the tailfins bigger? Especially at this larger scale? Nose looks a little thick too.
  6. I kinda forgot about the Aoshima add-ons. Did you get a chance to finalize the windshield change on the Blowsuperior? . . . Personally, I wasn’t too bugged by Sentinel’s choices with the Ride Armors, except for hot pink Houquet and the overly-busy HUD lines on the visors.* But it’s not too difficult to address those issues (and change the color on two of the bikes’ windshields too): * I also would have preferred a slightly lighter blue for Yellow. But it’s not a deal-breaker.
  7. This comment needs pics. . . for context and clearer understanding.
  8. It did annoy the hell out of me that I had to take forever to download Mario Kart and then all the hoops and quirks to transfer data from the Switch 1 to the 2. Just want a quick plug and play experience and a hard copy of the game. Is that such a hard thing to ask for?
  9. Synchronized shooting:
  10. ^*So, the bike with two honkin’ retractable blades and a chest full of missiles wasn’t close enough already?
  11. I am today years old in realizing that General Zod also played Chancellor Valorum in The Phantom Menace.
  12. Superglue and baking soda didn’t want to hold. Had to step up to plastic bonder. Took two three* rounds (and some patience from my idiot self) but seems to be holding 🤞🏽. * The extreme angle needed for the Detolf required a third application. 🫤
  13. It’s the attachment for the Tread part, but the stand is originally from the Zeta (because it was a little stronger). I am putting it at an extreme angle. And I should have loosened the screws first. So, one factor for the breakage is: 😅
  14. So, I tried adjusting the stand without loosening the screws first. . . Don’t be an impatient moogle : Superglue and baking soda time.
  15. Yeesh! Hate being a perfectionist: spotted a couple of obvious spots I should have panel-lined. And then wound up doing a few billion paint and pen touch-ups too. Paint was still drying during a few of these close-up pics:
  16. Fake hydraulics to prop open the wings and undersides?
  17. All good. Just glad you finally got to break out that blue Legioss and swoosh it around.
  18. 2020 felt like a decade’s worth of pain, so considering it to be two years sounds fair. 😉
  19. Added a few more 3.75” figures and the big red painted beast on the bottom row: It’s a bit of an extreme angle because the of shelf dimensions and because I wanted to add the blue versions in there too. But it’s been holding in place: Unexpectedly, also decided to add the remainder of the Original 13 Joes to the display:
  20. If you have any 1/60 Yamato VF-1’s lying around, you can use their TV missiles (and some adhesive putty and a little red paint) to fill those additional hardpoints. I’m using the Version 1’s missiles on the Legioss and Tread. Not 100% sure about the Version 2’s missiles, but if their pegs are similar, they may work too.
  21. Do the individual missiles actually separate from the mount, or are they permanently glued or molded together?
  22. Yah, I found what I was looking for at an online Gundam store. Pretty much a snap-on model with a tiny windup motor in it. Was pretty easy to build and just had to superglue the Legioss missile rack mount to one obvious spot. Adhesive putty was added to keep it solidly on the wing, and it‘s been locked in place since being put in the display case earlier this week.
  23. Most of the newer “collectible” shops that have popped up around me have been for Pokémon and similar card stuff. Maybe some Funko Pops too, but stuff from our (older) generation are a dying breed. There used to be a few small local toy spots around me, but they’ve all closed down. Ain’t no way I’d risk opening a physical shop. As I’ve said, I’m getting close to a good stopping point. Of course, never say never in this collecting game. But I’m pretty satisfied where the collection is at (with a few minor exceptions). Plus, my eyes aren’t as sharp as they used to be (constantly have to remove the glasses to see details up close). And the available time and responsibility factors are always ever present. So, doing a big mecha custom similar to the Tread is probably out of the question now.
  24. Honestly, never considered it. Been staring at the Toynami’s for so long, that I always pictured the cockpit as white. Also, that model I linked in the first post probably left a lasting impression on me.
  25. The “Dammit, Mog! Just show us pics of the finished product already!!” Post: So about that Gatling gun, it does rotate: IMG_8964.mov BUT I wanted to make sure I could also mount it in bomber mode. Slight shifting of parts and some adhesive putty, and the gun stays in place: All hardpoints have weapons thanks to adhesive putty too: Also, Hou-Rey combo in effect : So because of the “wonderful” limitations of the Detolf shelf, I did have to pose the fighter combo at an extreme angle: But I did make sure to snap a bunch of glamour shots: Especially with her Alpha-Beta cousins 😎:
