And that would be the price assuming you get in the 0.00005 second pre-order window.

You could take good photos of the Yammie in all three modes with and without the FP’s. And you could understand the design thought that went into all three modes.

The plastic stand went beyond yellowing! EDIT: How the hell are they gonna pull off the Fast Packs in fighter mode?

The perfectionist in me is getting annoyed that certain parts are not exactly aligning. Curious when the various pics were taken. Because the main guns look flush in some pics but not in others. And the legs look a smidge off from one another. Yes, I know it’s only a prototype, but I’d be looking at that thing from all angles, fidgeting with it until everything lines up exact.

So, the whole “Eugimon’s Omega Pants(TM)” joke came about way back when we were all bitching, arguing, no. . . “reasonably debating” while waiting for the 1/60 Yamato YF-21 to be released (more than a decade ago? ). There was an argument about the legs of the -21 being too skinny. Many people pointed out the anime magic involved with getting the skinny fighter mode profile and that the skinny legs were probably a design compromise to keep that thin profile. Out of these “discussions,” an old poster suggested that Yamato include an add-on (like pants) to bulk up and beef up the legs, exclusively for battroid mode. Hence, “Eugimon’s Omega Pants(TM)” was born. So if beefier legs are wanted without compromising the fighter mode and without relying on some crazy complicated panel-folding, we may finally see Eugimon’s Omega Pants(TM) come to fruition.

My biggest concern is if the cruiser mode will lock solidly with no flopping bits. I was joking about the misaligned main guns in one of the first pics. But after modding the old Matchbox version, I really hope Bandai reinforces those parts, makes sure they lock together, and have zero issues with flopping or misaligning at the slightest breeze. I look at their SOC Vehicle Voltron/Dairugger XV, and I remember being worried about all the various moving and connecting joints. But they absolutely knocked that one out. . . . Hopefully, the same folks who did ol’ VV are are the ones designing this puppy too.

Or it’ll be some insane panel-former like a lot of latter-day MP Transformers. 🤮 Or it looks like Eugimon’s Omega Pants(TM) will finally become a reality after more than a decade+.

You’re basing your measurements on a picture that’s not completely flush. You rail about the main gun length, yet say nothing about the size issues with the Prometheus. First you wanted it to be 3cm longer, now the length is down to 1.75cm longer. Using your own numbers, I don’t think many of us would notice a difference between 35.6% versus 38.5%. Those ratios for the guns are pretty similar. Sure, you could say one is slightly longer than the other. But I don’t think most of us would scream bloody hell murder over a 2.9% difference in length. Preference and opinion is fine. But remember the old saying, “There’s lies, damn lies, and then there’s statistics.” 😉

🤦♂️ Line-art says otherwise. Look, I personally prefer the longer-lengthed main guns. But line-art shows it’s supposed to be shorter. NOT 80’s Takatoku/Matchbox short. But short.

Linky to M3: http://www.macross2.net/m3/sdfmacross/macross/macross-cruiser-schematics.gif The main guns are relatively short according to the line-art. Yes, there’s pics and screenshots where they are longer, but there’s a ton of anime-magic going on. Hell, they’re pretty inconsistent on a bunch of things with the Macross, such as the colors of the whole foot boosters.

* Just make sure the thing holds together solidly and is REASONABLY priced.

Looking at this pic, it's actually longer than the old Takatoku/Matchbox one: On the custom I did a few years back, you can see where the original main guns ended. And compared to my custom extension below, Bandai's main guns are just a smidge shorter (and probably accurate to the line-art):

Clean water, free room to crash at on a resort planet. Seems like a fair deal in exchange for transportation. . . . But all those credits, and all Melshi got was Cheepo Andor's spare gun.
-
And just because I’m a facetious ass, they better make sure this secures strong and tight and doesn’t tend to look like this: If it flops or constantly misaligns, I’m gonna scream bloody hell murder.

Oh frak me! I would hope it's a little more white instead of greyish-white. But my goodness! I'm already itching to panel-line that sumbitch! EDIT: Just checked: no way this sucker is fitting inside a Detolf shelf.

Nah, perfectly happy with the two Yammie’s I got. I keep harping about the issues on the Bandai, because I’d like for other folks to get a version that’s a clear improvement or one that favors battroid more. But this one accomplishes neither of those goals.
-
Bandai needs to adopt the concept of fourths, not thirds. 😅 Would make the proportions work better for fighter mode and for the hip-guards/underbelly split.
-
No GERWALK poses yet. No underbelly fighter mode shots. Doesn’t look like they made any significant improvements from the old prototype. All these years and they still haven’t addressed any of the issues brought up. 🤦🏻♂️

I thought it was the aliens that gave them a ride that were sleeping in that room. Wasn’t watching that scene too closely.

He’ll show up and do some sort of 80’s trope: either wind up blowing himself up ala Heathers (but unintentionally) or show up at Dedra’s hotel/Imperial HQ with a boxy transponder over his head.

Well, if we’re expanding beyond Mospeada, I got a few. Just don’t have the space, or they’re “snowball’s chance in hell” kinda things.
