It would be nice if they could update the Skystriker's mold a bit to get the proportions a little more accurate. If they could make an X-Wing with better proportions than the original vintage one, then I'm sure Hasbro could do the same with the Skystriker. Almost 25 years of toy-making advancements can make this a reality, right?

April release, huh? (Should be enough warmth and daylight by then to do some serious spray-painting sessions. ) I won't mind if the first release has just the FP's and the stand; the fold booster's not a big priority for me personally. But I do consider QC to be extremely important. So, I really hope Yamato's taking this extra time to make sure the design and build are solid and sturdy.

Very nice touch with the Skystriker eagle emblem on the armband. But you all know my opinions about the helmet and the overall look of Ace.

^^Just to clarify, that's pics of the YF-21. Not of Zardoz or something else. Yeah, this "like" crap is very hurtful to the YF-21. It's like you're saying you only think of the 21 as a "special friend" who's like brother to you....................

I agree with the rest of the folks here: if there's certain niches or genres in either videos or games that are not supplied by the bigger store, that might be the business angle to consider. .....And >EXO<, don't forget about the Bon-Bons. ^^True, but there's also the MASSIVE opportunity costs they're missing out on. While waiting for them to release a Beta, most of my money's been going to Yamato and other toy companies (instead of supporting Toynami). On the product side of things, they could have easily released a limited-run TV Max 1A, but they didn't. And I have no idea if they ever released their Shadow-Chronicle variant Alpha (nor do I personally care). It's probably true that Toynami has no incentive to raise their game. But likewise, thanks to their constant inaction, I too have no incentive to either consider or buy their products. ....Except for that big vaporware/"We keep making excuses for why we won't make it" item to the left.

As lots of us have said, it's because the design is so different (and yet somewhat familiar) that we have so much love for the bastard love-child YF-21. Considering humans and Zent's have been living with each other for almost 30 years by the time the 21 comes out, wouldn't it make sense that the two groups would eventually merge their technologies together and create something that combines the best of their two mecha traditions and histories? The 21's a Valk designed around a Q-Rau template (or a Q-Rau made out to be versatile Valk). But if you guy's wanna keep hatin' on the YF-21, don't worry about it. Unlike the other Valks out there, the 21's got TWO gunpods. ..........So, we can be much more efficient in "disposing" you malcontents two-at-a-time!

Unfortunately, that Toynami Alpha isn't gonna have any Beta backup anytime soon (if ever). But I agree with Fort Max, with Toynami bowing out once again, I hope CM's takes its time to iron out whatever lingering issues and sculpt problems they still have. No need to rush things too hastily.

Wild speculation time: you think there will be TWO sets of gunpods? One blue set for the regular fighter and one dark grey set for the FP's? Either way, it's not that much of a deal-breaker for me.

Thanks for the clarification. Guess I got too use to gawking at those images of the D-stance model with its blue gunpods. No big deal. Though, I'm thinking I might paint 'em for the custom I'm planning out right now.

Since I'm too lazy and dumb to watch the DVD's again, are the gunpods supposed to be grey? Or are they supposed to color match with the rest of the 21 (i.e., blue)? Thank you charger69 for posting those big beautiful pics!

And based on the image on that crystal-clear TV screen, the blue in the anime is CLEARLY deep-blue, not the light-blue of this latest release!! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go gawk at my 3,595 Yamato and Takatoku Valk's in my secret underground bunker deep in the Orange County desert!

Why is the YF-21 blue instead of BLUE?!!! Where's the anime magic in this sculpt?! Where's the LED lights showing the BDI system activating on the pilot figure? Why can't we see Guld's eyes bulging out in the pilot sculpt? Why didn't they pack the FOLDILDO with the first release?! Why is Yamato being so cheap in repacking the SV-51's stand again?!! Couldn't Yamato make the stand a darker shade of black just for variety? Once again, Yamato is RAPING my childhood with a couple of small hands!!!!!!!!!!! Is that better?

Must get thread back to talking about CM's Tread......... Toynami, much like their website, is dead to me. Why waste our efforts (or our scorn) on them anymore? Any new pics from CM's? Especially a side profile shot of the fighter combo?

Thanks for the post, eriku. Part of me isn't surprised by this news. But part of me wishes Toynami would still just say "screw it", grow some freakin' balls, and just release their damn Beta already. Oh well, just means more money to CM's.

Anyone ever save a pic of takatoys' YF-19 custom in the Skull-1 color-scheme? I checked out the original thread/post, but the pics are no longer there. He added a nice touch where the signature color-scheme is even on the chest parts in battroid mode.
