Well, they have shown Federation-style "fighters" in space combat, but they're no where near the coolness level of the Valks, or even the X-Wings and BSG Vipers. Though, I do have a personal soft-spot for Defiant's "Don't funk with me, I'm a hard-headed, no excuses, stubborn-ass, overpowered, overgunned WARship." I could watch that little ship kick ass all day.

Geez, why don't they just give the franchise a rest? Look, I'm a big Trek fan (especially DS9). But there has been some form of new Star Trek on TV and in movies for practically the past two decades now. And that's a pretty impressive streak of longevity there. But for the love of all that is good and holy, can the powers that be please let the franchise rest for the next few years (or even a decade)? Look, it's pretty sad when even your shows' most ardent fans are going "meh" to the idea of new movie. I remember when "First Contact" was still in production getting excited about just seeing a diagram of the new Enterprise E. Now, I'm just not all that gah-gah about any new Trek. Plus, you've got re-runs of the various series running all over the place on TV, and DVD's of all the series and all the movies to fill anyone's Trek fix. It's time for the Star Trek franchise to sit back and take a long-deserved hiatus. Besides, isn't absence supposed to make the heart grow fonder? Lord knows, it's kept me a fan of a 20 year-old Japanese cartoon!

As for the thread topic: I'd probably go with my old Snoopy, a toy rocket I had when I was a baby, or the Version 2 Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow I originally got back in the mid/late 80's. What can I say: the older stuff just has more personal, sentimental value for me. Though considering all the money, time, and/or SEARCHING I put into my Macross and Star Wars collections, I'd be seriously pissed about losing them.

Very nice weathering and scorching on the missile launchers and boosters, too. I can't really tell from the pictures, but did you also add any scorching on the inside parts of the leg missile hatches or on the back-leg launchers?

I'll have to rewatch the episode (when do the repeats air again?), but I don't think they were really ripping Family Guy all that hard. Sure, Cartman's got his usual extreme opinions. But both Stan and Kyle (who usually set the tone/voice for the show) were both pretty level-headed and favorable towards FG. If anything, yesteday's South Park was trying to make a point about freedom of speech and expression. About how easily they can be taken away, when we start acting over-reactionary, ridiculous, and fear-driven. Considering all that's happening now in the US and what's been going on between South Park and Scientology, it makes sense that Matt & Trey would make this episode. I think Sarensaas inadvertently hit the nail on the head: underneath all the fart and poop jokes, South Park at its best is some good old-fashioned, biting social satire.

Actually, it's a little trickier to keep the legs close together, especially with the elongated crotch piece...... But seriously, there isn't exactly that much clearance when you're posing the GBP-1S in a fairly neutral stance.

That was a fun little fanboy ep. Anyone else catch the itty-bitty cameo the creators threw in there? Here's a hint: when Canary and Huntress were driving to the arena, they entered the city of Bludhaven.

Regarding Olmos' pornstache, let's not forget: he was sporting that thing back on Miami Vice. In my mind, I was thinkin', "Crocket, Tubbs. In my office. Now." Good points, DeathHammer. That's what I love about BSG: no character is truly a saint or a sinner. Hopefully, someone will call her out on her actions next season, even if it is just a quick little put-her-in-her-place scene.

It was definitely a WTF? episode (in a good way). Like everyone here's been saying, it'll be interesting to see how they go from this. It was still a bit of a trip to jump an entire year later. But let's face it: one TV season of watching them settling a colony would've probably been bland. Within a few minutes after the year-jump, you get a fairly basic understanding of what's happened to our characters. You don't get the details but you get the general gist of it. I don't agree with the complaints about Adama and Roslin pulling away from rigging the election. Ever since the middle of Season 2, Adama's been thinking hard about the "It's not enough to survive" principles and his speech in the mini about the sins of humanity. Looking at his recent actions (reuniting the fleet at Kobol, pulling back from assassinating Cain, just being willing to talk to Sharon), it makes sense that he wouldn't allow the election rigging or try to pull a coup. Now this is my own little pet theory I'm throwing up here. But it'd be interesting to see if Moore's got the balls to throw in some real-world parallels at the start of Season 3: you got the Cylons occupying the human's home, the Cylons having the superior military might, and the Cylons trying to "encourage" (or impose) their will on humanity for the "betterment" of humanity. Hopefully, they can take this idea and muddy up all the issues, making it so that neither the humans or the Cylons are completely in the right on this. P.S.--Seven, I love your avatar!! .....For all we know Agent Samwise might be suckin' on some nerve gas. Very tight pair of episodes last night. "I SHOT HER ABOVE THE KNEECAP. SHE CAN STILL WALK!!" What an awesome, funny, crazy scene!

Wasn't there a post a few months back with a bunch of box art pictures of various GBP-1S with custom paint schemes (for Max, Millia, CF's, etc.)? It's too bad Yamato didn't try one of those schemes instead.

Wolfx--I know someone else could crack a good joke off of your question, but I believe the "P" stands for the Prometheus. In any case, if you aren't a big fan of the yellow crotch emblem (like me) you could always do this instead:

Ahh, Memphis beat me to the punch.... You're probably right, Memphis: Serpentor was first offered in stores. And then maybe later, he was offered as a mail-in figure. And don't forget about the Cobra vehicles too! I picked up the HISS and FANG (the tank and the mini-helicopter) back in the day thanks to those mail-ins. Ridiculous tangent: How many points do you think they would've required to get the USS Flagg (if they ever offered it)? And speaking of which: How many points was the ol' Flagg worth?

I don't think Serpentor was ever a mail-in figure. The mail-ins were also a good way to pick up some "older" figures and vehicles that you never bought or missed when they were first in circulation. Both the Joes and the TF's made these type of offers in their later years.
