  1. No way they're gonna make a loss by selling the toy at 30% discount. This is pretty much what they do most of the times. Cheap valks, expensive shipping.
  2. Woohoo! Some very exciting bits indeed. Good to know he's revisiting the valk vs valk aspect. I'd be extremely happy if it's Plus meets Frontier. It might not have passive stealth but active stealth was introduced in Plus. As for the colours, I always assumed the Frontier and 7 valks were in bright colours to make them stand out vs a black, space background.
  3. It's affordable... but I'm saving up for the previous box set release. Seems like all the upcoming blu-ray releases are already up for pre-order on amiami with a 20% discount. Very affordable.
  4. I was thinking the same thing but I didn't want to jump the gun. I'm awake and ready for updates!
  5. I wonder if we could've avoided Bandai's version 1 mishap if Yamato picked it up or if it'll be VF-1 all over again. Since we MIGHT be getting a glimpse of the model kits soon, I hope Bandai has something interesting to reveal next month.
  6. Definitely Bandai. They're a part of the Macross Modelers brand as announced earlier and even though the write up mentioned it's for plastic models, I'm assuming they include figurines and toys as well since there are multiple companies in there.
  7. Yes. In fact, I'm getting multiples for a few fellow collectors as well. 1 and 3 for me.
  8. If I were you, I'd ask for a full refund through Paypal since you won't be buying from NY any longer.

    Hi-Metal R

The YF-19 is embarrassed by his grandparents.

    Hi-Metal R

YES! This one is gonna sell out fast if everyone goes for multiples. I know I might.

    Hi-Metal R

Up at HLJ if anyone's looking. I have a feeling the Hi-Metal R will be abundantly available. http://hlj.com/product/BAN966524/Act

    Hi-Metal R

I've gotten lethargic after spending 2 years chasing after DX Chogokins and their 2-minutes windows. I won't bother keeping any of the Hi-Metal R if they cancel the enemy mechas too.
  13. From what I understand, Arcadia's a new company so whatever licenses Yamato had became void when the company went under so Arcadia releases are typically negotiated from scratch. I also remember hearing in the podcast that Arcadia is relatively new compared to the other companies (even Evolution Toys) so they're not prioritized. The podcasts have also indirectly implied that Big West is milking the franchise (financially) thanks to the success of Frontier so I'm assuming that means higher prices for licenses.
  14. If this happened in the US, there would've been a lawsuit or mass refund somewhere. The Japanese really are a forgiving bunch.
  15. The podcast did mention that the Japanese buyers could try to ask for a replacement part but the companies are not obligated to go out of their way to provide after-sales service. I think the Japanese buyers are in a similar boat except they've accepted the fact that they might not be able to get their QC problems addressed. Buy it and shut up seems to sum it up quite well.
  16. When I went through a making-of video for the first Michael Bay Transformer's movie, the CG team did mention having limitations as all their designs and transformations had to be approved by the merchandising department. I'm more curious as to whether the insistence on having merchandise is removing the magic from anime. When mechas were hand-drawn instead of CG, I used to see lots of very dynamic and probably unrealistic angles and movements. Sure, the newer stuff does look good when they put effort into it like the final battle in the 2nd Frontier movie but compared to SDF/DYRL and Macross Plus, I feel like they're missing a lot of the 'wow', but yes they do make toys screen-accurate as they're all modelled in 3d.
  17. I don't think my wallet and keyboard can take a v3. A v2 bundle, maybe.
  18. I'm days away from selling off mine and I'm having second thoughts.
  19. But I don't want a pink vf-19! I want a Dullahan custom or low-vis though.
  20. I can't help but feel Mr. K is very passionate about his work and the toys he designs... ...but he could at least make them the proper colour.
  21. That photo makes it look like it has a satin finish. I'm considering giving up my Gamma for a Beta.
  22. Phew. For a minute there, I thought it was an official announcement.
  23. Oh man that blue is so blueeee. It looks like the 0D blue.
  24. Those skull stickers make it look like a cheap toy. Would it be too much to ask for tampoed skulls? There aren't even that many large markings on the plane but a sticker for most of them?
