  1. Owning the Arcadia VF-1S Strike (Roy), VF-1S Strike (Hikaru), VF-1J Super (Miria), and VF-1J Super (Max), I can happily say that I have experienced no problems with the hard points. YAY! I originally put the DYRL box missiles, then later the REACTION missiles (because I think they look more attractive and impede aerodynamics less) onto all the hard points on these 4 Arcadia releases. I do feel bad for you that you experienced problems with one of your toys. That being said, I am not sure if there is sufficient sample size to claim that there is a rampant Arcadia hard point problem.
  2. I will keep an eye out for you @Arthurius, in case I spot a cheaper CF. I check online shop prices MULTIPLE times a day *sigh*.... instead of getting school work done.... *sigh*. As it stands, I am also looking for 1/60 TV Max and Kakizaki for @dafob
  3. Mandarake has the CF available again... https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1051658425&ref=list
  4. You are right. They are not "cannon". That Elint has Super parts on, not Strike parts. =P *hee hee* Macross humor. I assume you meant "canon"?
  5. Hi everyone. I was wondering, how does the quality of the Bandai 1/65 scale valkyries compare to the Yamato 1/60 scale, such as in the case of the VF-17, VF-19, YF-21, etc? Thanks!
  6. And now it looks like it is gone. That was fast.
  7. JUNGLE has an HMR Destroid Spartan for 3,780 yen. http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_id=121&id=2265288 I was tempted, but I decided not to go down the destroid rabbit hole.
  8. What would you define as a "fair price"?
  9. How do you go about applying the gel? Do you avoid applying onto the red and black painted portions of the plastic?
  10. For some reason, my mouth started to salivate looking at the VT-1 and VF-1D. *drool*
  11. Happy 40th birthday @blackconvoy_D01. I turn 26 in a little over a week. Maybe I will treat myself to a birthday Valkyrie *cough cough*.
  12. The "optional parts" are the filler pieces used to plug in gaps you see after you transform into battroid mode. For example, the black plastic siding circled in red in the picture below is one of these optional parts, used to fill in the gap between the front chest plate and the back plate. There is also a neck filler piece, that you can insert between the back of the neck and flap at the top of the back. And I think in some releases, an elevated cockpit chair, to simulate when a pilot wants to exit the VF-1 through the neck hatch. Earlier Yamato v2 valkyries did not even come with them... they were a later addition. Some of Yamato's stand-alone Super and Strike parts sets included these optional parts, so that owners of earlier v2 releases could get them. Some people, including myself, don't even use these optional parts, as they sort of break the concept of "perfect transformation".
  13. I had to push my wings in somewhat forcefully for them to snap into place on my Miria VF-1J.
  14. For some reason, I am now imagining Michael riding around in Armored Klan's breast pocket.
  15. For now, I think my M&M shrine is largely done. With me collecting the Arcadia + Yamato v2 1/60, the HMR, and Toynami 1/100 lines., I don't feel the need (or have the finances or the room) to get the 1/48 scale toys too. Plus. having watched A LOT of @jenius' review videos, it is my understanding that the 1/60 is a better quality toy, having learned from the successes and failures of past releases, including the older 1/48. As for the Queadluun Rau's, I view them as being nice to have, but if I had to spend money on a Macross toy, I'd learn towards getting a valkyrie over getting a battle suit. But that is my current inclination at the moment. If I saw a really really low price for the Queadluun Raus, then I'd probably go for it though. As it stands now though, I don't plan on buying anything for a while. I have very little display cabinet space left, and I have already spent way more than I should have on toys. I have a few pre-orders in the system, as well as stuff currently shipping, so that should tide me over for now. Admittedly, I still want to someday get a Yamato v2 VT-1 Super Ostrich, a VF-1D Trainer, a VF-1A CF, VF-1A DYRL Kakizaki, a VF-1A DYRL Hikaru, and maybe the Arcadia 1/3000 SDF-1, but that will have to be done slowly... very slowly... or as soon as I get my first paycheck once I graduate and land a job. =P
  16. DYRL VF-1A Max with Super/Strike parts ca me in to round out my Max + Miria shelf.
  17. Thanks. I have to admit, the recent Toynami 1/100 VF-1 toys (Wave 6 and later) pictured in the back are turning out to be a lot better than I had expected. I had heard the horror stories about how the earlier releases had misaligned leg-to-arm peg slots, that kept the toy from holding together cohesively in fighter mode. So I was really happy to discover that my Wave 6 VF-1D and Wave 7 VF-1J's resolved the issue, and actually tighten up pretty well, particularly with the super parts. While admittedly not as sturdy as their HMR counterparts, I found these Toynami toys held up pretty well, given their lower cost.
  18. I was wondering about that, given that it did not come with the DYRL missile boxes.
  19. My 7000 yen HMR VF-1A CF from Mandarake just arrived, and is in excellent condition. It was my first time ordering from them. Definitely gives me a good initial impression of Mandarake.
  20. Also, my HMR VF-1A CF came in. Is there only 1 version of the HMR CF? Or are there like 4 versions of them like there are for the Yamato v2 line?
  21. Welcome home, HMR Max and Miria..... now start making me babies!
  22. That book looks familiar. I think it might be among the stuff I inherited from my dad... assuming my mom did not throw that stuff out too after I left home for college.
  23. I would love to see them release a 1/60 scale ARMD. I can already imagine someone's 4 car garage filled with one of these... and I'd be envious.
  24. I wonder how much this VF-1J will cost at release? Being new to collecting, I have been paying a premium in picking up valkyries well after they go out of print. For once, I'd like to pick up a valkyrie at or below MSRP. *sigh* This valkyrie looks like a perfect candidate.... to either try to remove its hideous paint job, or paint over in white. Then re-decorate with decals or something. Maybe a cheap alternative to picking up a Yamato unpainted VF-1?
