I had to push my wings in somewhat forcefully for them to snap into place on my Miria VF-1J.

For now, I think my M&M shrine is largely done. With me collecting the Arcadia + Yamato v2 1/60, the HMR, and Toynami 1/100 lines., I don't feel the need (or have the finances or the room) to get the 1/48 scale toys too. Plus. having watched A LOT of @jenius' review videos, it is my understanding that the 1/60 is a better quality toy, having learned from the successes and failures of past releases, including the older 1/48. As for the Queadluun Rau's, I view them as being nice to have, but if I had to spend money on a Macross toy, I'd learn towards getting a valkyrie over getting a battle suit. But that is my current inclination at the moment. If I saw a really really low price for the Queadluun Raus, then I'd probably go for it though. As it stands now though, I don't plan on buying anything for a while. I have very little display cabinet space left, and I have already spent way more than I should have on toys. I have a few pre-orders in the system, as well as stuff currently shipping, so that should tide me over for now. Admittedly, I still want to someday get a Yamato v2 VT-1 Super Ostrich, a VF-1D Trainer, a VF-1A CF, VF-1A DYRL Kakizaki, a VF-1A DYRL Hikaru, and maybe the Arcadia 1/3000 SDF-1, but that will have to be done slowly... very slowly... or as soon as I get my first paycheck once I graduate and land a job. =P

Thanks. I have to admit, the recent Toynami 1/100 VF-1 toys (Wave 6 and later) pictured in the back are turning out to be a lot better than I had expected. I had heard the horror stories about how the earlier releases had misaligned leg-to-arm peg slots, that kept the toy from holding together cohesively in fighter mode. So I was really happy to discover that my Wave 6 VF-1D and Wave 7 VF-1J's resolved the issue, and actually tighten up pretty well, particularly with the super parts. While admittedly not as sturdy as their HMR counterparts, I found these Toynami toys held up pretty well, given their lower cost.

My 7000 yen HMR VF-1A CF from Mandarake just arrived, and is in excellent condition. It was my first time ordering from them. Definitely gives me a good initial impression of Mandarake.

I would love to see them release a 1/60 scale ARMD. I can already imagine someone's 4 car garage filled with one of these... and I'd be envious.

I wonder how much this VF-1J will cost at release? Being new to collecting, I have been paying a premium in picking up valkyries well after they go out of print. For once, I'd like to pick up a valkyrie at or below MSRP. *sigh* This valkyrie looks like a perfect candidate.... to either try to remove its hideous paint job, or paint over in white. Then re-decorate with decals or something. Maybe a cheap alternative to picking up a Yamato unpainted VF-1?

I was wondering, has anyone experienced any problems with the HMR VF-1 feet? The front foot on one of my toys popped off when I was spreading the feet. I was able to put it back on, but it does not feel all that secure to me.

Well, the store website http://www.yetistand.com/ is still available. You may want to ask @ChaoticYeti though, to be sure.

For those interest, an HMR VF-1J Hikaru just showed up at Jungle for 5,400 yen. http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_id=121&id=2273762

I actually buckled down and finished my round 1 draft of my research idea paper for one of my classes. YAY, I was productive tonight!... finally. (still a little annoyed at myself for not finishing this paper 2 weeks ago) Anyways, 1 paper down, 1 to go! ACK, It's almost 5:30 AM? Already?! Okay... time to browse eBay for Macross stuff for a few minutes before I take a nap. Don't worry, I won't buy anythi.... oooh, Tamashii display stands for my HMRs? *drool*

It looks like Mandarake has an HMR VF-1S Strike Roy for 16,000 yen. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1080119650&ref=list AmiAmi has it for 12,240 yen. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?scode=FIGURE-019040 Not sure if you consider those too expensive.

Thanks for all the great advice guys. I apologize for freaking out earlier and panicking. I think I have calmed down a little bit. I managed to be a little bit productive today..I wrote 2 more paragraphs for one of my research idea papers! YAY! I also performed surgery on a Yamato v2 valkyrie, replacing its broken shoulder joint with a new Shapeways one. That was oddly relaxing. I think I can sort of understand the appeal of model building now.... but I think I will politely steer clear from that money-costing hobby. =) Now that I have an accurate tally of my Macross toy expenditures, I will try to be more diligent with my finances until I graduate and find a job (hmm... I wonder how much starting computer science professors make?). Plus, I figure if I get desperate and need an influx of cash before then, maybe I can sell some of my bags, shoes, or jewelry. I think I will be okay... so long as I keep things under control from now on.

I finally decided to sit down and figure out how much I spent on Macross toys, as I had lost track with all the little purchases I made. Since starting on March 19th, I blew a grand total of almost $4350. That was both a bit shocking and sobering for me. The rough estimate I had been floating in my head was about a thousand dollars less than what I actually spent. Realizing I spent this much is actually freaking me out a bit. I think I really may be a shopaholic, have an addiction, and have gone a bit crazy. I am literally shaking a bit in panic. Not good... not good.

ARGH! Why am I so weak?! Why can't I stop buying Macross toys?! Why must @jenius' video reviews be so good that they make me lust after these toiys?! WHY?! *sigh* I have so many regrets... I regret charging everything on my 1.5% cash back Capital One credit card, instead of using my Chase card, which I just discovered currently gives 5% rewards on PayPal purchases. I could have earned an extra $140 in rewards... *cry* Now I am finally going to take a break from buying Macross toys. Really. I'm done. (* checks eBay watch list *) Okay, in just under 12 hours, I am done! Until I graduate.... or until a decently-priced Yamato v2 VT-1 Super Ostrich pops up. *sigh*

*sigh* I just ordered an HMR VF-1S strike valkyrie (Roy) for 12,240 yen, before shipping cost. My god, this HMR thing is a bottomless pit of quicksand, isn't it? I get to add this to the VE-1 Elintseeker I currently have, plus the following either already on order, pre-order, or shipping... VT-1 Super Ostrich x 2, VE-1 Elintseeker (will be my second one), VF-1J Super (Max), VF-1J Super (Miria), VF-1A Super (Hikaru), VF-1S (35th anniversary), VF-1A (mass production), and a VF-1J (Hikaru). *sigh* So... I wonder how much a person can make doing Uber. Does the income sufficiently off-set the cost of increased driving, including wear-and-tear?
-
I feel lucky. I tested out the hardpoints on all 8 of my Arcadia and Yamato v2 valkyries, with the exception of the Elintseeker. Its hardpoints are currently intact, and if it has a design flaw in its hardpoints, I don't want to know. LOL!
