  1. Wait, wait..... Is Macross Delta worse than Macross 2?
  2. LOL! I watched your video review about the toy after seeing the CD Japan outlet price. Sounded like a real pain to transform. Between that issue, mismatched-sized hands, and my less-than-thrilled feelings towards Delta, I decided not to buy the toy. I died laughing when you said, "If you haven't seen Macross Delta yet... don't."
  3. The affiliate program at CD Japan lets you earn 5% commission on people's purchases that use your affiliate link. CD Japan members also earn 3% rewards normally, so if you use your own affiliate link, you can make as much as 8% in combined points, not factoring in shipping costs. Hopefully that means that if I buy like 13 valkyries from CD Japan, I can buy a 14th with my points. Ahhh... to dream.
  4. Yes! You are right. The VF-1A Hikaru! Why in the world does it look like the HMR VF-1S Strike valkyries go for $200? EEP! I can buy certain 1/60's for that. *sigh*
  5. Just pre-ordered the HMR VF-1J Super Valkyrie (Hikaru) from CD Japan.... there was only about 20 minutes left before their sakura coupon expires, so I decided to use it. *sigh* Time to reset my counter... Hello. I'm Shizuka and I'm a Macross-holic. It has been 0 minutes since my last purchase.
  6. Happy to be of service! I hope your new Draken does not have any issues that might trigger your high quality standards. CD Japan seems ok... a long time staple. I got my Macross Frontier blu-rays from them. Become a member and get 300 yen in birthday points each year. As @F360pointed out, they also have coupon codes available from time to time. You can also become an affiliate, so that people who click on your banner ad link and buy stuff from them can earn you points too. Actually, you can purchase stuff for yourself via your own affiliate link and earn points that way... on top of the rewards points you normally get for making purchases.,
  7. CD Japan is selling outlet product DX Chogokin Macross Delta Sv-262Hs Draken III (Keith Aero Windermere Custom) http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEOGDS-252249 13,200 yen... down from 22,000 yen. Limit 1 per customer. They currently have 4 remaining. Doesn't interest me, but I thought maybe someone here would find it interesting.
  8. Packing of items in styrofoam may be a concern in cases of long term exposure to high humidity, as the foam can become moisture-saturated due to the network of interstitial gaps between cells. Plastic should be used as a moisture barrier between the item in question and the foam.
  9. YAY! I have not bought a valkyrie in 20 hours! And I wrote 5 more pages for my research idea paper! I accomplished something! Just felt like celebrating! Time to browse ebay....
  10. I noticed the HMR VT-1 Super Ostrich is available for pre-order for $79.90 here.. http://www.bandaionline.com/hi-metal-r-vt-1-super-ostrich-action-figure/ Anyone ever order from this shop before? I have not, so I am wondering how good or egit they are. Thanks!
  11. Valkyries are my first love. I have always loved fighter plane design... so much so that I ALMOST declared aero/astro as my undergraduate major, but ultimately went computer science and mathematics instead. MIT's "Unified Engineering" is a required year-long course for the aero/astro major... and has a well-earned reputation for being a tough weed-out course and a GPA-killer. *sigh* By comparison, computer science was generally an easier and more flexible major, and let me study aero/astro-related stuff like navigational computation and predictive path finding. I do like Miria's battle suit though. Klan Klang and her Pixie team too. But valkyries are so cool! They are jets... that transform. How can you beat that?!
  12. Based on @jenius's review videos of the Arcadia 1/60 VF-0 line of toys, I was under the impression that they have a nasty habit of breaking their legs off their hips.
  13. Is that a cannon on a guy's arm, with him wearing samurai armor and sitting on a Star Wars ship?
  14. EEK! One of the tires for the leg landing gear from my Arcadia 1/60 VF-1J Super (Miria) fell off. I can put the tire back in place, but it can fall off again if I tilt the toy to one side. Is this a common occurrence? Does anyone know a fix for this? Now I am really glad I bought 2 of these.
  15. YAY! My post got @jenius to purchase a valkyrie. For some reason, I feel pretty proud of myself. =) CD Japan now has 1 left.
  16. CD Japan currently has 4 outlet product HMR VF-1S (35th anniversary color) remaining for 2400 yen each, limit 1 per customer. http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEOGDS-263329 *sigh* At that price, even I can't resist. CD Japan currently has 3 remaining.
  17. I almost bought several Yamato v1 1/60 valkyries, but luckily I emailed @jenius right before I hit checkout on my shopping cart, and he was kind enough to warn me away from them.
  18. The Toynami's are not as bad as I thought they would be. I noticed that the misaligned peg slot locking the legs to the arms in fighter mode that @jenius reported in his old review videos appear to have been fixed in my Wave 7 VF-1J Supers, so that made me happy.
  19. Actually, it has been 10 days since I ordered my first valkyrie and joined the Macross World forums. In that time, I have bought... Arcadia 1/60 VF-1J Super (Miria) x 2, because Miria is the best! I wanted to be her as a kid. Arcadia 1/60 VF-1J Super (Max) Arcadia 1/60 VF-1S Strike (Roy) Arcadia 1/60 VF-1S Strike (Hikaru) Yamato v2 1/60 VF-1A (Max TV) Yamato v2 1/60 VF-1A (Kakizaki TV) Yamato v2 1/60 VE-1 Elintseeker Yamato v2 1/60 VF-1J (Hikaru) [shipping] Toynami 1/100 VF-1J Super (Hikaru) Toynami 1/100 VF-1J Super (Max) Toynami 1/100 VF-1J Super (Miria) Toynami 1/100 VF-1D Super (Comic-Con exclusive) Bandai HMR VE-1 Elintseeker Bandai HMR VF-1J Super (Max) [shipping] Bandai HMR VF-1J Super (Miria) [shipping] and preordered... Toynami 1/100 VF-1S + GBP (Roy) Toynami 1/100 VF-1J + GBP (Hikaru) Toynami 1/100 VF-1J + GBP (Max) Toynami 1/100 VF-1A (Kakizaki) Actually the aforementioned Yamato v2 1/60 VF-1J (Hikaru) has a broken shoulder joint, which is why I also ordered a few sets of replacement shoulder joints from ShapeWays. Having watched the videos by @jenius and CollectionDX on how to replace them, I figured why not... got a cheap valkyrie that way.... plus 15% off eBay coupon. I think I finally feel mostly satiated with my collection. The only toys I think I still want are: Yamato v2 1/60 VT-1 Super Ostrich Yamato v2 1/60 VF-1D Trainer Yamato v2 1/60 VF-1A Mass Production Arcadia 1/60 GBP Bandai HMR VT-1 Super Ostrich Fortunately, I don't really have any interest at all in getting Macross 2, Zero, or Delta toys. And, until I get the aforementioned valkyries mentioned in my wish list, I think I can resist getting Plus, 7, and Frontier toys for now. And yes... I do think I went *WAY* overboard and did not pace myself and let my fandom get the better of me and neglected my school work. But I think I am finally starting to calm down. YAY!
