    Around $220-$240 shipped, and that's with slow shipping. Mine all took a good 3-4 weeks to show up (except the one from Amazon Japan).

    I've got one on order with CDJapan, but I'm pretty sure they're going to re-assess the shipping fee I was initially quoted. Once I know what the actual ship cost is, I'll report.

    Nippon Yasan now showing in-stock at ¥30,200 I'm not linking it, because their shipping rates are murder, and you're better off waiting for another vendor.

    Oh absolutely, there was more variation in her Frontier work, Plus just happens to be more unusual, whereas a lot of the Frontier stuff was more mainstream. Both are great though.

    Generally speaking, both Unicorn and Thunderbolt were well received; Unicorn starting as a Novel then adapted to both manga and anime, and Thunderbolt starting as a manga and then adapted to anime. Meanwhile G no Reconguista, by Tomino himself, was a complete mess, and the worst Gundam series I've ever watched by a good margin.

    I viewed it as though the entire story was from the antagonist's point of view. The Zeon pilot certainly seemed more like a protagonist than Mr. Jazz and murder.

    Honestly, I thought Thunderbolt did pretty well at walking the line between dark end edgy, and having characters that were fraked up in realistic ways.

    Unfortunately, the only CAD I've used are professional programs. Currently I'm using Solidworks, since my job involves a copy (and a laptop that can run it). If you're a student you can get an "educational" copy for $100, but I'd definitely try freeware first and see how you like it. If you have any experience machining, then it ought to be a very easy learning curve. If not, it really depends on how easily you can get used to the interface, and how easily you can imagine the final product as a series of features added to a base.

    Actually about to start looking for a place, which makes it a bit easier. I can pick a room and set it in a corner with a fume hood or the like. Professional plastic is less flexible, but has much higher detail and better surface finish. It doesn't need the priming/filling/sanding that the WSF does. It's also more brittle, so best for external parts that are well supported, rather than internal ones that are directly involved in the transformation. There's a clip you can use to mount the gunpod onto one of the wing hardpoints, I've added it to the top post in the thread. Here's some pictures:

    Between the cost, and the lead-time to get something printed and shipped for design checking, I really am tempted to just buy myself a little resin printer to test out designs. Maybe something like this:

    Yeah, I was wondering the same. Also, I'm not enthusiastic about changing the main villain from a psychopath reborn as a cybernetic maggot to the black criminal kingpin (who was actually more helpful than harmful to Alita in the manga).
