  1. Damn Hasbro! What are the stupid child safety laws? There are no ways around it? By making the minimum age 18 or something? That blows. Definately Takara for me. Maybe a Hasbro if I can get one cheap(er)...
  2. Hey, you got a better way to rebuild a species in a hurry? It makes perfect sense. And that DOES make sense? There were so many zentradi ships you couldn't see through the cloud. I'm suprised they weren't shooting EACH OTHER while bombarding the planet. The odds of any signifigant population of humans surviving were pretty slim. I know what the Compendium says... I don't think you're realizing how BIG the Earth actually is. The major population centers would surely be annihilated. But there's no reason for the Zentraedi to hit hardly anything in the middle of North Dakota or Siberia or North Korea, or the island of Maya, for example. Maybe the most major towns but outside of them? And sure we're talking about wiping out the majority of our population but EVERYTHING outside of the Grand Cannons? Nonsensical. If they were trying to exterminate, then biological weapons and/or the complete eradication of the surface is necessary (top kilometer), including oceans and all the uncounted little islands out there (Maya anyone?).
  3. Yeah as soon as I posted, I saw the engines coming out of the fuselage area (top view) and the way the vertical stabilizers angle out the same (side view). The shape of the YF-23 wings is triangular and different from the Omega One, though, and the YF-22's are a bit closer... But I might be colored by the shape of my Yamato rather than lineart and such that I don't have. But i'm less confused now. B)
  4. Navy would have sea ships like the Daedalus and Prometheus, as well. Just like the UN Spacy has the capital (star) ships.
  5. Nice. Now can someone put a YF-21 and/or VF-22 up there as well as a YF-23 (real life)? I dunno, I guess I'm just not enough of a jet buff, but the Omega One looks more like the YF-22 than the YF-23 IMO. Especially the shape of the wings and top view sihlouette as well as the vertical stabilizers from front view.
  6. VF-22. Max chose it, so it had to be the best. Even dumbed down from the YF-21, it's still more advanced.
  7. Without knowing exactly how the beam weaponry operates its difficult to make definitive conclusions on what residual side effects there could be... Yeah good point about the reactors... guess Europe is behind the US more than I figured. Especially the snail eating froggies. I still doubt it would irradiate the entire continent. But anyways, I really think the mass cloning bit needs to go into the DYRL/Macross II bin of "movie in a movie" or Alternate Universe. It's just nonsensical and the implications are enormous. Better to just say the bombardment and related casualties just wasn't that bad. Sure the major centers could have been wiped out but not in the manner indicated... something like how Robotech had it (perish the thought!).
  8. Shoot that shiyat into the sun or out into deep space or sumthin. Just hope the thing carrying dont blow up/crash. Mass cloning? Eww. :Shudder:
  9. That was my take. Well the Zentraedi were able to hold em off till Dolza sent everything after the SDF-1 and got alot/most of them destroyed. That upset the balance bad.
  10. I wanna see a VF-11, VF-17, VF-19, and VF-22 on there, too.
  11. Not enough to make a difference. It's pathetic how few nuclear reactors there are, considering how much better it is on fuel. Because a bunch of whiny biatches... well i'll rant on that later. Besides, US and European plants aren't built like Chernobyl. They don't go boom. They brake and become useless but not like u shoot it and it blows up like an H-bomb. Might be some waste, radiation, etc but it's not gonna look like even Hiroshima. But even with all the fuel refineries, etc... the Earth is BIG (and besides, Zentran beam weapons would likely ignite it anyway) and we're a small small footprint on it. Don't sweat Isamu and Guld getting in. They were protected by the script.
  12. Hmm... the way it sounded to me was that the Invid were REALLY really after Protoculture. Kinda like feel it behind their eyes or something like that... anad that the Regis detected it from across the galaxy. Surely the Inbit can't detect that far (and still distinguish it from solar flares, volcanoes and what not) with "ordinary" energy, can they? And still seems like RT Invid are much more numerous than the Mospeadas? We need a Mospeada guru in here!
  13. Is there a difference? Aside from the Regis' voice overlaying the "blub blub" noises the Inbit make? Oh and leaving out that silly Regent stuff, too... though the addition of all that stuff would seem to indicate RT's Invid were more prolific than Mospeada's Inbit, wouldn't it? Still, given the way RT's Earth was devastated by the Zentraedi and then rebuilt and THEN hit by the Invid, they'd be weaker than Mospeada's Earth (without any of Macross' cloning/overtech nonsense)... so I'd say RT's Invid woudln't have had to hit as hard as Mospeadas... Course, RT's defenders were also significantly weakened by their reliance on Protoculture (and the Invid ability to so easily detect it) negated any possibility at stealth at all... IIRC, RT's human mecha are more of a beacon than Mospeada's humans were to the Invid... I haven't bought the untitled Mospeada yet, though... was the state of the Earth relatively "normal" (late 20th, early 21st century) before they invaded?
  14. I did, but not in the way you think. The Sturmvogel looks more like the Raptor than the YF-23 is what I meant. At least visually.... at least to me. Lets see some comparo pics.
  15. Dont you mean YF-22? YF-21/VF-22 looks alot more like the YF-21 than the YF-23 IMO EDIT: Damn it. lol. I meant YF-21 (Guld)/ VF-22 (Max) Sturmovgel II [Macross Valkyrie] looks more like the YF-22/F-22 (now F/A-22) Raptor [Real Life fighter] than the YF-23 Whatever (Black Widow).
  16. 1) F-14. All of the models are nice, though most advanced is better of course. Wish they had decided to upgrade. Ah well. 2) SR-71. Just bad ass fast. Honorble mention: 3)F-22, 4) MiG-29, 5) A-10, 6) F-15

    1:60 GBP-1 !?

I kinda wish you hadn't edited the pics in the beginning of the thread. It was cool watching this develop. Now the first few pages aren't in the perspective they should be as when we only had 2 halves of the GBP, almost as if it wasn't important. I expect the 1/48 version (if any) to be seperate like the Fast Packs. I HOPE the 1/60 version is seperate but with the 1/60 FP upgrades being dead , I'm not holding much hope for it... <_< at least could be available through select e-tailers/retailers, if not through their own web page (or someone exclusively linked from their page). Come on Yamato, be supportive to your fans as they are to you (parts availability, seperate 1/60 FP upgrades, etc). It's not like the slave labor in china would have a hard time putting out additional parts. The molds are already made. Milk them and let us pay for it. Even if its kinda high, it would be better than buying whole valkyries with numerous parts to waste... Leave em unpainted and we can take care of that even...
  18. Well it's a bit irritating when a "better" DVD version comes out, but it's not like anyone holds a gun to our heads and "makes" us buy it. I think having the option for better footage is good. It'd be nice if you got a discount when owning the previous one, but noone "making" us buy the new one either. For example, Terminator 2. I'm happy with the Ultimate Edition that I got and can live without the Extreme Edition. When I first got my DVD player in 99 I got Stargate (have to flip the disc and has minimal extras). Now that they have a much much better version out isn't any reason to curse the creators. The SW Ep 1 and Ep 2 DVDs are damned good on content, too. If Lucas releases a Diamond Encrusted Ultimate Special Edition with more footage I may or may not buy it, but having the option is never a bad thing is it? As far as LotR, my only beef is that they're not released at the same time, when I can't think of a good reason why they should be. I'm just thankful I have impatient friends whose theatrical release DVDs I can borrow to pass the time with until the EE release.
  19. Pretty nice. IIRC, it should be lumpier but I'm not complaining one bit. You should put your "recipes" on the web. One issue I had with the design (that you faithfully reproduced, I think) is that the main cannon should STILL do the split thing to fire, shoudlnt it? Seemed a basic element of the main cannon... But that's neither here nor there.
  20. Is that the same chic as the one in the pin stripes where your... ahem... "other" is hugging u? If so, congrats. If not, well... that one in the pinstripes is still pretty hot! B)
  21. Do you REALLY think Shoji couldn't fit Sound Force in something like that? Yes. That's why I said "as much." I actually like the Sound Force, too... well... I prefer something like Skull Squadron or Diamond Force but I can live with Sound Force for what it's intended as. But with every series having a different feel, it definately wouldnt be the same as M7. My main idea (hope) for my hypothetical would be that the "right way" would be subject to interpretation. Indeed having an idea of tragedy in the UN Spacy killing and destroying its own (other factions of the civil war) would be a major facet, if not the goal... In the meantime we just get to see good anime mecha combat with the latest designs and new ones. Having love triangles and egotistic singers is just something that comes with the Macross logo. B)
  22. Set after M7. Have Earth/UN Spacy see Unification War pt 2 but spread into space. Basically civil war. So we can have valk and on valk with the occassional Zentran and/or Meltran Fleet along with maybe a SA factor in there... Definately liked M7's fighting enemy with variable fighters (maybe with some weird and/or fundamentally different design philosophy or something ala the Varauta's Spiritia absorbing ray)... Of course it would have love triangle and singing. But to be DIFFERENT, having which side is "good" and which is "bad" be a vague/point-of-view type thing would be better IMO. Serious problems in the United Earth Gov have different interpretations so that noone is really "wrong" at least in a black&white/good&evil manner. Complicated enough to be realistic. We could have Isamu on one side, with Gamlin on another, for example. Since it'd be a civil war, Sound Force wouldn't be an option for this one as much as the previous... I'd definately like to see a UN Spacy at war with itself. The "main" fighter would be VF-19... Special Ops VF-22S... the occassional VF-11C (maybe a D model?) and VF-17... And a NEW VF prototype or two to steal the show in addition to whatever the "enemy" would be cooking up... As I see it one or both (or more?) of the sides of the civil war would each be wanting to capitalize on their familiarity with the others mecha weaknesses... and thus move away from the normal valkyrie paradigm. For example, one side might go to a preponderance of "light" Valkyries (think VF-22 design but smaller and one engine)... smaller and less capable but in massive numbers. A different side could go to something like the Legioss/Tread combo thing having a part be atmosphere optimized, another part being space optimized, with them being joined the ultimate. A third side could do "more of the same" but with new models. A fourth side could stay the course with VF-19/VF-22 maybe improved models... etc etc.
  23. Damn Yamato. Ah well. Not surprising, though... <_<
  24. Good price on the M&M but the prices for the other 1/60 seem pretty bad, though... Are the Super-O and Elint normally that expensive? <_
  25. Wow, that's nice. I wish Yamato would do a VF-22S in that scheme...
