  1. Looking good Also helps that you seem to know your way round Photography also. Great job. I do like the super clean just made look.
  2. With Modeling action feature.
  3. I have this very same kit. Actually I have 2 of them, along with 4 of the Vf17 ones and the blue vf19 that Wave did. is a nicely made kit, and shares most of the of parts with the blue 19. to cut the parts off I use the sharp plastic scissors, that have a slight curve on them, Tamiya do some IIRC. they are uber sharp and stay sharp for years. Vinyl is not that bad to work with. I have built a few kits made from it. Super glue is best to glue bits together, two part epoxy also works. You can add filler to it and even car body filler. I tend to paint mine with a base coat of rattle can auto paint primer and then add the air brushed paints of choice
  4. great work, at this rate it will be done by new years !!
  5. Some times I think it would be easier if you just destroyed them before the move this saving the moving guys the bother. You know you pay extra for crushed and broken stuff. On the pluss side more HWR stuff to watch comming to life.
  6. 1. YF-19 battroid A propers cale one would be nice although I have all the wave ones 2. YF-21 battroid Has anyone done one properly in 1/72 3. Proper GBP for hase battroids Like I need to say yes to that one, Jon knows what I thinks about this 4. VF-11 fighter and battroid Yup to go with my fighter I would like a Battroid 5. Elint battroid You could make a hasegawa conversion kit, in the same way that there is/was a Vf1-d that Starship modler did 6. SV-51 battroid no one has done one iirc 7. 1/72 fold booster for the YF-19 nice quick one 8. More diorama stuff not my bag but im sure it will sell well 9. Some battle damaged pieces to build into an existing kit, either battroid or fighter oh yes now your talking 10. A solid, non kitbash gerwalk conversion kit! Now your talking it would sell like water in the desert 11. Glaug 12. Pittie Cola machine in 1/6th or bigger
  7. I did read somewhere that someone was planning one. Could be very good, I'm sure the TOS Basestar would be easier to do though.
  8. If you want more info on it here is the actual build up from bit-tech.net it is truly great, there are some other awesome builds on the site.
  9. Im fairly sure the low poly versions could in some cases help the development work they could be used as building blocks etc. Since no one here is trying to make money out of it mutual help is obviously good, up shoot of it I suppose is more Macross, which lets face it can't be bad
  10. This is exactly what I was thinking but for the sake of experimentation one must follow all lines of investigation, regardless weather you know the out come. But im sure that the use of U.V would speed up the reaction, that is after all why the stuff is always sold in brown glass. Just to throw fuel on the fire I have some plastic similar to the 1/55 stuff that has gone yellow despite being in a sealed container in the loft out of sunlight for years. So maybe the plastic will go yellow over time anyhow U.V just helps it along some what.

Can I venture that these two threads may be of use. Both parties are doing similar things and some mutual work would be very beneficial to all involved. www.macrossworld.com topic 27793 and www.macrossworld.com topic 28292 I am going to post reference to this in both these threads as I do believe that this could be constructive.

  14. oh yeah that would be the Holy grail.
  15. I always remember this well said comment (paraphrased). The Universe is infinitely large and contains and infinite amount of suns around those suns there must be a nearly infinite amount of planets so there must be some that are containing some form of life. Therefore this would lead to the possibility of near infinite permutations and possibilities of circumstances and chances life and environmental condition etc. I always think of this when trying to understand some far fetched theory or the like, while conspiracy theories are the bread and butter of SciFi and legend there is no smoke without fire IMO. I just doubt they are as elaborate as most of Hollywood would have us believe. Not saying that your next door neighbor is from the Star constellation of Betelgeuse or anything but never say never. I read a theory once a few years back that the whole alien thing that gathered speed in the fifties was down to a conspiracy that the powers would just get the general populaces comfortable with the whole Aliens thing and then one day they would say " Oh by the way these guys are the Aliens and they have been coming here for a while" and the general populace would just say. " Yeah tell us something we didn't already know, we all knew that you didn't invent Velcro" and then just get on with life happy in the knowledge that their neighbors were from Betelgeuse after all.
  16. The whole of the first folder will just be for the Vf1 and all it's variants.
  17. Well yesterday was nice and Sunny. I kept checking the jar to see what was happening and from what I could see not much was going on. Mid afternoon I had to go into town to run some errands and when I returned the jar was nice and warm in the sun and the bits were all covered in bubbles. Things alway happen when you are not looking. This is as per the pictures in the transformers forum listed above. The best bit though was the bits are very much whiter than they were. In fact some I would say are ready to take out. The rest of the bits could do with longer due to being shaded by bigger pieces. There is no residue or deposit in the solution. etc the parts just look like they have had a very good clean. I'm going to leave them in for today as it's sunnyish again and then take them out and shoot some more photos to use as a comparison. I will then post em here so you can all see. I figure you'd rather see what it does to something relevant than to some random bit of Transformer or plastic figure. remember guys this is with 6% vol and not the 20-30% that others were using. This stuff is easy and cheap to buy at your local Drug store. I figure the effect it produces is the same but just takes longer, add that to the lack of sunshine and it being all winter like. I reckon Summer will produce some more speedy results. I'm quite happy to do this to a bunch of 1/55's as I have plenty of them and more than enough spares to replace bits if they suddenly turn to toy dust next week. I'm actually thinking of leaving a few bits in long term to see what long term exposure does. Chemistry was one of my strongest subjects at school but I have forgotten so much. It's kinda nice to be doing something vaguely experimental. I feel a bit like the mad Proffessor !!
  18. The goverments would do just that Build a nice cozy bunkers somewhere and fill them with food and supplies and playstation games and then invite only the "best" people to come join them. Oh wait they did that in the film Deep Impact. One thing is for sure if word got out society would F%*K it's self up long before the actual end. Could turn out to be a good no brainer popcorn flick. At least its not a remake
  19. After nearly 24hours of not too sunny daylight and cold night it has made a bit of a difference. Its shaping up to be a cloudless and therefore sunny day so they are back on the window sill and we will see how it goes.
  20. Well I have a jar full of 1/55 parts as we speak. After a few hours I have noticed a tiny change, but Im sure that they will need a lot longer as its only 6% and although it's on a south facing window it is not overly sunny in the U.K today. About 2 years ago I sanded down some 1/55 parts that were hideously yellowed. These went into my Milia custom. On the trailing edge of the chest plate I sanded it back to white and painted the rest of the part red. the white edge is visible when you look down on the figure from above and matches in with the other white parts. I have noticed that it is starting to yellow again after only 2 years. Its kept out of direct sunlight in a shaded display cabinet. So it's safe to say IMHO that they will eventually yellow again just how quick depends on the environment is suppose.
  21. I suppose you could add a few made up units in the style of the existing Vajira units or may be a few variants of the existing ones. What are you doing for back grounds for the maps. in a lot of the mods I have seen they tend not to mod them, this I think makes the game look to HW2. I only ask as I was looking into how to do it and have found some (maybe possible to use if owner says yes) nice good rez images. The owner has granted others permission to use them FOC so hope fully we could get it too.
  22. Oh I don't actually live there just go there a lot. Although my GF would sometime like it if I did as I talk to much about Japan. The real expert is Save he has been there a while and knows his stuff. Japan is the kinda place that every time you go there you learn something new, and find a new Macross selling store.
  23. Well I got some 6% as this was the strongest the chemists had. They used to sell 20% and 30% but the suppliers dont stock it anymore. Just waiting for the sunlight as its dark here now and I will be putting my test subjects in to see what happens. If it works for me I have several TF's and loads of 1/55 Valk parts that will get thrown in. Then I guess it's off to reprolables for some new stickers. More news tomorrow.
  24. Think I still have some in the cupboard, I certainly have glass jars and plenty of yellow 1/55 bits. I will post my findings here.
  25. Every time I have brought Yamies and Hasegawa kits back from Japan they have gone in checked baggage except one wave kit which came on with me. Ironically the hand carry got more damage. As mentioned by Save above pack out the spaces in the box with other goodies and then I usually pack all my clothes around the box to act as a crash area. rolling t-shirts and such into sausage shapes and then packing them down makes for great protection. I travel for work and every time I take a flight case or Pelican case with work gear in it gets damaged. I now only use a Large sports bag, the type you can put a small child in its so big. It has a rigid bottom and wheels, but is still flexible and can be carried on my shoulder. If you really think it through you will be as safe as the airport ground crew want you to be. Japanese side you'll be fine they are careful it's when you get to the other side its the problem. Heathrow is a nightmare B.A baggage crew actually throw stuff from the planes, I have actually seen them on numerous occasions drop stuff from the hold onto the tarmac. One of the baggage checkers at Narita is a Macross fan. A couple of times now he has checked my bags through the Xray and always takes his time so he can find out which Yammie or Hasegawa kit I have got. He's quite funny and calls me Macross san. If in doubt post it. When in japan just go to any shopping area after closing and grab a cardboard box there will be loads outside the shops waiting for the trash men to pick them up in the morning. Get some packing tape from the news agents and some old news paper or suitable packing material. pack it up and take it to the post office "yuubinkyoku" you find that most of the staff are helpful and quite used to the foreigners sending stuff home.
