The Legend of Zelda Live Action Movie

Wake me when Mario takes on Gannondork using Kirby and Pac-Man... -
I have a similar, though slightly different issue: most times, the only kits I can afford are the older, more inaccurate ones (example: my version of the TOS Galactica). The challenge then becomes: how close can I get mine to the newest ones in terms of accuracy and detail. Most times I fall short, but I take it as a challenge to see if I can do with my materials what they did with theirs. Did this with CVAN-65, my 1/537 Refit Enterprise and my Ertl X-wing (1/43). Stuff needs hydraulic lines? Paper clips! I have a cockpit that needs better controls? Stretch some sprue and use my xacto knife to make buttons, then sand down the surfaces and spend 20 hours gluing buttons in place no one will see! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA(cough, sputter, wheeze!!!). Sorry...where was I? O.o

Don't be too hard on yourself tekkering; resin is notorious for doing this crap! I had a resin Ambassador-class Enterprise in the 90's (before Ertl issues theirs) that no matter how long or how many times I soaked it in bleach and hot water and scrubbed until my fingers were sore, the paint would just slip right off after drying! Krylon, rustoleum, etc for primer, none of it made a difference! Even a couple of years ago with a resin mod kit for my Ertl-issue USS Reliant, the paint had issues and smelled like mold release after extensive scrubbing and soaking in harsh chemicals.

Any progress on your projects, MT?

the nice thing about hot melt glue is that if you need to remove it, a little 91 percent alcohol will help pop it off the plastic.
-
Believe it or not, I used hot melt glue on my matchbox 3 3/4 inch Lisa/ Misa, Miria and Minmei figures:

If it's the latter, they must have a cradle of some kind to hold it during maintenance/ refurbishment downtimes.

Nothing can replace masking tape...

Much appreciated Thom! Thank you so much!

No; it mashed into my thumb and I had to scrape it off to get it off my thumb.

Still working on them, but I have a slight issue: for some odd reason, the ship name ("USS ENTERPRISE", decal #30) stuck to my thumb and came off the ship!! O.O Does anyone possibly have a spare?

The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post

That deserves this music for the video: -
UPDATE: Progress on the Weefit- I have a ton of paint corrections and touch-ups to do on it (not to mention a sludge wash and some weathering to hint at a very subtle aztec without showing a total one!) Comparison with her former self in the same scale: Stay tuned...

I can still see the preshading; fainter than you had it, but still there. Could you possibly hit it with flat coat and use dark chalk pastels to try to bring the preshading back out? I'd hate to see you have to start all over...

Too bad you couldn't live in it!

It is; the current Gerald R. Ford class carriers are about 1106 ft (337m) long; Prometheus is 1679 ft (512m) long. That would make them about half-again as long as our largest naval carriers. Source: https://macross2.net/m3/sdfmacross/carrier-prometheus.htm

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!

Thanks for the info Seto; I wasn't sure (I thought it folded back, but wasn't sure if it could also fold up). Guess Isamu wrecked it. -
I always thought it was situated within the main body and both legs, to be honest.

Same here; the fit on the Enterprise is okay (snap together and all); I plan on leaving it as "snap" until painting and decals are done. Not going to do any "aztecing" because visually, at the scale distance it would appear, I don't think it would be visible (did that for my 1/537 as well). I don't have Reliant, so not sure how that would fit. Need to do a different stand for the Enterprise, as the dome one that came with it fell apart (some weird kind of "delamination" happened). I'll see about doing one of my famous "black stands". Some really clean work there, WM!! I can never do anything "clean"; I manage to smudge and mess up my paintworks constantly!! O.o A few; I lost one last November though; my friend of over 30 years died of Glioblastoma (diagnosed in April, it killed him in 7 months flat. 😮 ) After that, most of our group pretty much went their own ways and broke apart. Thankful for whatever friends I have here; admittedly, I'm not the easiest person to try to get along with.
