$25K is like several years' worth of a 3rd world salary It's probably better spending money learning Japanese and translating it yourself. Or find someone studying JLPT Level 1 who might be up to take the challenge for some compensation (of course not $25K).

Wow if I understood this right you only had 7 days to purchase a ticket? @_@ I haven't been reading this thread for a while so it's only now I saw that concert link. Anyway, my $$$ have gone somewhere else so can't go. When is the next Frontier/Macross anniversary? I hope there's another big concert in the future.

These are units sold to the comics shops, not necessarily individuals. Still I am surprised they are more than 5 thousand. ^_^; If the profit per book is $1 (or even less) they still earn thousands of dollars per issue sold.

Nice variation, but I have no budget for this. The past few days I had been debating whether to use my extra money for gunpla or food. I chose food and then another home improvement expense comes up...Half the food money is suddenly gone!

Unfortunately I think there are still people who are buying this. Or else they would have stopped doing this already. I've come across promotional articles for this comic while browsing comics sites.

I haven't been impressed by western adaptations of Japanese manga/anime. Although I think it all depends on the writer/director. I haven't even bought the Japanese novelizations. So I'm interested only out of curiousity. Perhaps I'll bite if they do something like this Humble Bundle in the future. -

Nice! Based on these pics I wanna buy it already. I'd love to but unfortunately my budget right now is focused on the toys and graphic novels and home repairs. Maybe I'll just get this one together with the new Mikimoto book that comes out next year. Thanks for the pics!

While the Robotech comic is really shitty, on the other end of the spectrum is Universal War One. Great sci-fi story, I bought the book since it was highly recommended. Of course as a Eurocomic it was first published elsewhere but it's evidence they can also publish excellent comics once in a while. That said I have no experience on the other stuff which seems to be mainly titles related to movie/TV/game franchises. And I doubt Titan does quality checks on the Robotech comics.

So glad I waited and passed on Mikimoto Haruhiko Character Works. Though if I got more money I'd probably still buy that in the future. Hopefully this new one doesn't get sold out too fast.
