  1. Hrm, I got that image from a retweet on the Macross World Twitter stream. I don't read Japanese and given the timing, I assumed it was about the Wave version. I'll be happy if the price on the actual Wave comes in lower. Apologies for any confusion.
  2. Thanks pengbuzz. Plastic Welder sounds a lot like JBWeld. I hadn't considered molding it to take the necessary shape so I might end up doing that if I don't find a satisfactory replacement. Glad to here how durable this stuff is. Makes me wish I could just bathe all my stuff in it!
  3. vf4_model Hmm, 68K yen, that's definately more than $50 US.
  4. @pengbuzz, yes the tape was just there to hold the piece in place while the JB Weld set. Here's a close up of the actual break: The hing I need to fix on the Orguss is similar, but I don't have the missing shards in order to attempt this type of fix, which is why I'm considering using something like a part of plastic pen that might have a similar circumference.
  5. I'd been wanting to fix a few toys that gravity, time, and physics had been unkind to. First I needed to learn how to use JB Weld though. A recent pen-thigh mod to a 1/55 helped me with that so it was time to give these a try. I also have an Takatoku Orgroid junker that I got cheap a while back. It has multiple growing cracks and one side of it's waist hinge is broken. Wondering if anyone has ever fixed one of those. If so, any recommendations? It's very similar to the backpack hinge on 1/55's, but I don't have the missing pieces. A larger pen ink tube might fit.
  6. I'm with Mike and Sarah. Things could turn out differently than expected. Exact same thoughts went through my head.
  7. I looked around on teh Interwebs and prices for Wave 1/72's seem to be in the $35-50 range.
  8. Can't wait for subs, so I'm gonna take a hybrid approach. Listen to you guys, watch until I hit a part you haven't discussed, listen some more, repeat. Thanks. --KojisBot
  9. http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/villains/images/f/fb/Dagahra.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140827034619 Was watching Rebirth of Mothra 2 and there's a two-eyed furball with no arms that takes kids to some underwater ruins where they learn that the monster that Mothra must defeat was created as a biological weapon by the ancient inhabitants before it took them out. I've seen it a bunch times, but only once since I finished Macross 7. I'm surprised BW didn't sue. M7 came out 2 years before this movie and even the facial design of Degahra is Glavil like. Obviously, though, Glavil's monster half owes its inspiration to kaiju films, but wow! Ghogo vs Gubaba Degahra vs Glavil
  10. I keep wondering when someone is gonna ask about Hayate's necklace. If fold quartz so common that it doesn't raise any eyebrows? Is it so cheap that anyone can get ahold of it? I'm especially surprised that Kaname or Arad haven't asked him about it.

@roboto, what is the base you are staging the Glaug on? Looks interesting.
  12. Hmm, this might be my first kit then. With all the HMR releases this year and eventual Delta DX's, the Yamato VF-4 just isn't in the budget, but really it's the fighter mode that I love the most about this.
  13. I'd be interested in some pilots. I have a game color version vf-19 and an old vf-11 that need some pilots. I also wouldn't mind pilots for my 1/55's. I know these aren't meant for that, but I'm forgiving with a lot that goes into the 1/55's.
  14. Well, to be really nerdy, salinity does increase density: https://manoa.hawaii.edu/exploringourfluidearth/physical/density-effects/density-temperature-and-salinity i.e., I'd need a bigger surfboard if the oceans were freshwater.
  15. Yet another Lady M name drop. Is there an poll on who we think it might be? Minmei Milia Mylene Misa What are bookie odds?

I'm also curious about how the line is doing in Japan versus on the MW Forums. This group is an outlier when it comes to how the wider consumer might look at Macross merchandise, so I would not assume our appetite for this stuff is matched by the average toy shop visitor over there. I've been wondering about the scales of production for the HMR line as well. Are HMR units been produced in low number or high numbers? Do you guys think there is any way to get at that information?
  17. Love me a good mashup. Haha, this is actually good. It's obvious that the music from Delta has inspiration from various styles of modern pop music which is probably why I'm digging it more than I ever got into Frontier's music. EWF for the win!
