it can be annoying when you write a very carefully worded post to sum up your opinion and give theorys on why you think it's a plausable opinion. only to have someone drop in, say you're wrong, or sum up everything in a very one sided way. take many things totally out of context. call your opinions stupid. leave it at that, then make fun of you for supporting yourself. and then sharading as takeing the "high" road to stop the argument when they instigated it in the first place. "which has ALREADY happened" huh? why do we need the stomping power of the f-22? show me where our fighters have come up anywhere short? in the first iraq war the A-10 cause 75% of all military machinery losses, the f-15 has never been defeated in combat and the f117 can fly in nearlly un-detected and to strike with insane persision. i've been told btw, that the iraqi military, before we were done with it, was considered one of the top militarys in the world? they are using VERY recent weapons, most of wich are chinese (i think, or russian). those tanks our abrams cut through are considered second inline with ours. same with many of their fighters. people complain so much about the iraqi war, that it's another vietnam, that its a quagmire, that we're loosing. its so sad people say that, people in the know realize the iraqi war was one of the most decisive military confrontations in the history of war, there has never been a declaired war where one side covered so much ground, took so many prisoners, defeated so many targets and lost so few friendlys in the amount of time the desert war took place. we won the war. wich is now over btw. we an't at war with iraq anymore we're occupying and rebuilding. even if an enemy country was to create some fighter that is slightly better than our current fighters, it's been througly documented that our pilots are the best traiend in the world, i'm entirely confident our pilots could hold out just fine against lesser trained pilots in fancy new planes. its happend before. i agree the f-22 is a very very cool plane, the wave of the future, hell its NEAT TO LOOK AT TOO. but for right now its just not nessesary. do you understand the level to wich we dominate the air? its damn near total, the iraqi airforce, wich was a formidable amount of planes and technology, basicly never left the ground. and its not like we were fighting some back water military. they've already pretty much got the entire f-22 ironed out anyway, i'm sure if some extreemly hostile contry was to come up with the next SUPER fighter, totally with out us knowing it and was flying around with 30 to 1 kill ratios we'd be able to start cranking out f-22's in a matter of weeks or months. "If this trend continues, we'll be sending F-15's and F-18's against SV-51's." i'll take a jet that fire very big long range missles over a jet that wants to box with its fists any day :

I think it is not a given that people will buy less just because there are multiple heads. They still want all the VFs at the same time, don't they? Besides, the main VFs (VF-1A, VF-1J and VF-1S) have different colors, that's not easy to change. banprestos have multi heads. btw, i think the banprestos have one of the better compromises in proportions. maybe SECOND or tied with the 1/48. thats proportion, not detail or quality, mind you!

i stand corrected about the missles, though i still think that if what ever was going after them relyed on either radar or heat, then it woudln't have worked. maybe it hit the plane on luck, yet never managed to track it. i just find it hard to belive that it was shot down by some easyly duplicatable tactic like pinging it from the side or something like that.

did you read my post? The F-117 isn't some absolutely invisible vehicle. Never did I say they were shooting blindly, however the Fighter probably gave off intermittent signals, while flying past which they used to give a best guess to fire. It has been also said that they probably staggerd the radar sites to give the best signal possible. are they radar guided missles? if they don't have a target they don't fire them. if the missles use some other form of traking then ok, i admittadly don't know much about serbian (or what ever) missles. but i DO know that if a missle requires a lock of somekind (radar or heat sig) and the 117 wasn't damaged, or compromised in anyway, then they woudlnt' have fired, becasue even if they could see the thing, they couldln't lock it. missles like that don't fire under "best guess" situations, and the 117 while not perfect, doesn't offer a target if its working properly. it has the radar return of something like a small bird or bug or something like that, even from the sides. no missle will lock onto a bird. and i beleive the heat from the plane is FAR below missle targeting capability. i guess that makes it true i've heard the military cover up things, sometimes in cases when their "highly trained" people do something really really dumb like leave their landing gear down, or take off with bomb-bay doors open. i'm thinking it was probably something more like that, pilot error. i know they put special reflector plates ont he stealths when flying non-combat.. perhaps one was on the plane some how. anyway. new grey for the 117 ? neat. i'd like to see one in standard grey. the camo one looked pretty cool.

its good to see people don't belive this one the way they did for that "transformer" had some weird compositing. but was fun to watch.

i'm still confused why its a 1j, why its 101 and why the numbers are in weird spots, and how that makes it a "purists" valk? isn't ALL that stuff diffrent from the show? enlighten me.

in all fairness, its not like any other country in the world can touch us militarily. maybe a super expencive new plane isn't warrented. though i do like the F-22. dont' forget that F-15s have a spotless flight record, i mean spotless, none have ever been shot down. when you've got planes that don't even have competition, why spend so much to replace them? i'm just glad they're still doing research so that we have the technology if we need it.

firing missles at "best guess" trajectorys to hit planes sounds highly suspect to me. i'm thinking something happend to compromise its stealth. i realy dont' think anyone was blindly lobbing missles where they "thought" it was going to be simply because they saw it a few other days in the same area. weirder stuf has happend i guess. nothings perfect you know, it IS warfare, stuff gets shot down.

you know the songs from DYRL? specificly one of the first ones minmay sings "tiny white dragon" or something i think is the title in the original SDF macross, does she ever sing that song? or ANY fo the DYRL songs in the tv serise? to me "tiny white dragon" ish song is like a quintisentialy macross sounding song. it'd be cool if it was in the original tv show.

agreed, i think the level of technolgoy to shoot down the 117 goes a bit beyond being able to see it. if you can see it with your eyes, but it can't be tracked by you're heat seekers or radar guided missles.. you're going to have trouble shooting it down. that doesn't count for anti-aircraft guns, wich do still use sight, and enemy fighters. though the 117 isn't really suited to aircraft to aircraft fighting, since it maxes out arould like 600 700 mph if i remember correct (i know its way slow as far as modern fighters go) so i think they've always been pretty carful to keep them out of those situations my point, it has way more to do than the color its painted. oh, btw, i belive the black paint was some kind of special radar dampening thing, maybe they just finally were able to create it in a color other than black? i dunno

are we sure ANY of the stuff in these shows is going to be in the movie? i really liked the Pharo looking she-jedi in ep 20, and i dont' think she was killed, she blocked a attack with her force and got thrown, but i didn't notice her being killed by it. also liked the two jedi girls that yoda saved, heh.. found all these characters more intresting that annie-kin. anyway, does anyone know if lucas is using any of this "clonewars" stuff for the thrid movie?

hey i think it looks good, one thing though, with that chin thing in place, i think he's supposed to have the blue "space" sheild down over his face. minor quib though, i like it. roy was always cooler in his tv dark suit than the dyrl suit.

i don't see any really good reason why yamato didn't make the valks with removeable, and interchangeable heads.

get macross, i don't know what you hope to learn from the script, but macross is nice and superior storywise, it's cut better, its in japanise ( :-) ) and it doesn't have 2 other anime spliced into it. dunno what ova means, sorry

you don't need to defend you opinions, they're yours! good for you. many people feel the need to defend their opinions because of the perceived need to fit in. "i like this, and i need to prove it's worth likeing, and make others like it, so i'm not alone in my choise, makeing me not weird, but NORMAL and right." same goes for people who dislike something: "if i dislike it, it must suck and i must prove its utter crappyness so i'm not alone in my distaste for something, makeing me the weird one." As for Aiges: SHAME on you, you're trying to guilt people that are talking bad about a serise, BY TALKING BAD ABOUT TWO OTHER SERISE's. you expect people to be civil about MO when they don't like it, while you go bashing M7 and MII calling them crap. you do realize the hippicrit[sp?] that makes you sound like. some people , like me, don't consider MO to be decent. some people, unlike me, enjoy M7 and MII. you might want to take some of YOUR OWN WORDS to heart.

so sad and so true, now that i am getting closer to the movie industry, i'm realizing how movie makers have this view of the general public that we are just do stupid to accept new ideas. or that we can't connect to a movie if there is no big star to anchor us. personally i find big name actors to be extremely distracting. i don't see tom cruiz as a character, i see him as tom cruiz playing make beleive. same goes for MANY big name actors. i can't beleive Danial Day Lewis turned down Aragorn in LoTR to be in Gangs of New York... anyway, got on a tangent there. i am totally in favor of no names for the eva movie. maybe they can get baby face older actors so they can make the film as full of gore and sexual undertones as is fitting.

imagine you are a fighter pilot in the US navy, and imagine that you are flying a sorty against some enemy country. now.. if that enemy army was able to invade your comm system and play videos of hard core porn or some other kind of shocking/distracting imagry or sound, you woudlnt' find it hard to fight under those conditions? i find cultrual shock more beleivable than machines that come to life due to glowing rocks and singing "special magic tunes" space gods and "bird man, fish man" crap that's never ever mentioned in later shows. (maybe i'm wrong havn't seen the show in a while)
