  1. Hey MWF, I'm looking to offload some valks to recover some cost and space. Prices is for using PayPal F&F (add 4% for Goods & Services) and do not include shipping.

All the items are brand new and unhandled either in sealed or in unopened boxes. Expect some shipping and shelf wear on the boxes (see photos).... If you're a collector interested in mint packaging condition, then these will most likely not meet your standards.

    1/60 Arcadia VF-0S Phoenix - $425

    1/48 Bandai DX VF-1S Hikaru - $360

    1/60 Bandai DX VF-19 Advance - $340

    1/60 Bandai DX VF-31F Siegfried - $225

    1/100 Bandai HM-R Armored VF-1J (original first release) - $165

No problem.  The Chosen Prime is a good store and I still shop there.  They individually bubble wrap items when they ship in a box compared to BBTS.  $219.99 shipped is cheaper than $219.99 plus tax plus $4 shipping.

Just a heads-up that I've been screwed by The Chosen Prime before. They never send my item to me and never owned up to it. I had to file a complaint with PayPal to get my money back. It's quite odd since most people said they're generally great to deal with, but that was my experience unfortunately.

I got my order in with BBTS!  This was so easy, I feel guilty! 😆

Any specific item you're referring to? I'm assuming if the price goes up then that means it has demands, correct?

    *snip*

Nah, just in general. Just feel like Mandarake were less likely to have a large mark-up (the recent VF-31A at 48K yen is an extreme example) before Macross Delta aired.

But yeah, like you said it's a reflection of the market. With the interest in Macross rekindled, prices on collectibles are on the rise.

  4. You won't find a more understanding and upstanding collector to deal with than @dafob! Wonderful transaction - he made prompt payments as promised, and he never even so much as complained when it took me a couple of days to get the valks shipped out.

I would definitely work with him again if I get the chance!

I rather keep my preorder from their site. Atleast my order were placed directly with the company. Don't want this to end up like VF-31A.

    Agreed!

I know no3L was joking for most part, but everyone talks about how great The Chosen Prime is... yet, the very first time I ordered from them, I never received any of my items, and they kept my money without so much as lifting a finger to help. And now of course, the whole NY debacle with the 31A pretty much confirms that buying directly from the creator/producer/manufacturer isn't a bad idea at all. Cuts out the middle man!

I envied @Lolicon for finishing his HMR VF-2SS first. So I finished decaling my VF-0S over this weekend. By the way, I really had fun doing this esp those big NO STEP markings. ;)

    *snip*

Hopefully next weekend, I get the chance on topcoating it so I can apply panel wash next. ^_^

That looks awesome, no3L! If the premium edition from Arcadia looks half as good, it might even be worth the cost. :p

Looking forward to your panel lining!

That sounds like a very odd situation with TheChosenPrime...As you say, they go out of their way to provide good customer service. Must be something they are willing to do to help.

*shrug* All I know is that I'm out 2 bills and I've been back and forth with them via their customer service email for the better part of a month and they basically said, "Tough luck, buddy. You're on your own."

If I had to venture a guess, TheChosenPrime (again much like a lot of other stores and businesses out there) provide "great customer service" as long as it doesn't impact too heavily into their profits. So, your order came with a damaged part? No prob! (The replacement part probably only costs a couple dollars max assuming the manufacturer didn't send it over for free). Oh, you want to return your order? You got it! (At least they get the item back, and they might get return shipping cost or even a restocking fee outta ya.) But if your package gets lost? Er... Sorry. Good luck.

Lost packages suck cuz the store's options for "good" customer service is basically to either send you a replacement on their dime, or refund you your money since you didn't get your order. That's a big hit. And, sure, they might be able to recoup some of that hit via shipping insurance, but that's assuming they even paid for it (which they might not have in this day and age of free shipping). Some of the Japanese stores are smart at least and often force EMS shipping on you since EMS covers up to 20,000 yen.

  8. Another vote for filing a claim with either PayPal or your credit card in situations like this. You have to remember most of these businesses basically sees their job as done the minute the order leaves their hands. They already have your money and, in their eyes, they upheld their end of the deal of shipping out your item(s), so they really have minimal motivation to help beyond that.

I've been fortunate enough to not lose any international orders, but my very first time trying out TheChosenPrime recently, my order was lost and they wouldn't even so much as contact the postal service for me. And this is from a company that by all accounts have amazing customer service!

  9. Hey BluprinT, so you received the VF-22S Milia okay? If I come across any other 22S valks, I'll let you know. But like what spacemanoeuvres posted, the best place to look right now seems to be jp auctions.

I was also trying to get the Max & Milia pair for a long while until I basically lost interest. It didn't help that finding an affordable Max 22S was even harder than the Milia. Just gotta be patient I guess. Good luck on the hunt!

(Maybe Bandai will take a stab at the DX version of the YF-21/VF-22S soon as others have suggested.) :D
