  1. I was just up in Japan and the Mandarake in Akihabara and the one in Nakano Broadway and the price of 1/48 Yamatos is pretty high. Check my post in the following link You can see a 1/48 VF1J for about $310. Sorry about the other pictures, you can't make out the price on the other 1/48s, but they were each at least over $200 for sure. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=40095&p=1089986
  2. This is what I picked up in Tokyo Thanksgiving weekend. Looking back, I should have picked up some more stuff! Bandai VF-25A Macross Poster (Looks like it was a UFO Catcher Prize, Hikaru, Alto, and Basara in/on a VF-1S) MG NU Gundam GFT Version HG Bearguy 3 Char's Customize Red Potato Chips Couple SD Gundam Capsule Figures to the right Masterpiece Bluestreak The other photos were from Nakano Broadway, there was a Mandarake Macross display/store just right of the entrance, with DYRL being shown. Mandarake Akihabara had mostly new stuff, Yamato and Bandai, none of the older 1/55s and such. All in all it was a bit of a challenge trying to find Macross valks, Macross Frontier figures were easily found though.
  3. If I can find one around that price, I might consider it. Can anyone recommend a good proxy bid site for yahoo Japan auction, rakuten, etc? Pm me please so we can keep this thread on topic.
  4. I missed out on the YF-29 in all forms, not missing this one, waiting for that preorder!
  5. Thanks for the reply Falcon18, I've been out of the Macross Toy game for a couple years now. Yeah, the Mandarake store in Akihabara and Nakano Broadway had a decent selection of valks. Nakano Broadway had a nice Macross display/storefront just right of the entrance, plus they had DYRL playing on a TV above the display!
  6. Also ordered a Sazabi ver. Ka. Just got back from Tokyo, picked up some goodies, pics coming soon. I was very tempted to pick up the Titanium finish Nu Gundam, but I already picked up the GFT variant Nu Gundam at Odaiba the day before.
  7. Can I fit any of the armor parts on a VF-25A CF or are they specifically made for each valk. Thinking about picking up Micheal's armor pack on NY for my new CF.
  8. I just got back from Tokyo and picked up a CF VF-25A. There were some Lucas available as well as armor packs. Looking back I probably should've picked one up. Finding Sheryle and Ranka figures were prety easy, the valks took more effort. Pics forthcoming. Bandai, where's my Ozma and Alto renewal re-release?!?!?
  9. What a coincidence, my first gundam was an RG Zeta Gundam. Obviously I am very new to gunpla. I have decided while the RGs are beautifully detailed for the size, the small pieces can be a pain. I have decided to go all MG from then on. Areaseven, I think you will like the RG Zeta and will be able to appreciate the advances it offers over your HG Zeta. I really hope the MG Titanium Nu Gundam and MG Sazabi Ver. ka drop Dec 1st as that is the last day I am in Japan, but I doubt it, "Shakes fist in the air!".
  10. Chavakaiser, if this falls through, would you consider accepting a commission for a helmet?
  11. VF1a-fan, how are the Wonder Woman and Batman figures? Might pick them up if I see them in Japan. I like the classic 70s Batman color variant of the Batman figure. I just received my Green Lantern figure, he looks way too anime pretty boy for my taste, might have to stick with the masked male figures, Superman gives me the same vibe.
  12. I just received a response to my email inquiry to the masei_helmet@hotmail.com. This is the email: we will have it ready soon in few months.. I save your email. when ready, I email you about it. US$239 including shipping fee worldwide now. Luusama So we shall see how this pans out, really hope this works out and we all get helmets. I think I will link this thread so they can see the interest from Macross fans.
  13. So far I have emailed twice to sales@maseihelmets.com, once through "Contact Us" form on maseihelmets.com website, and I just emailed today to masei_helmet@hotmail.com. So far no response to any of my inquiries.
  14. http://www.lockheedmartin.com/us/news/features/2013/sr-72.html There seemed to be a lull in my opinion on advances in aviation and then lockheed-martin announces this. I want to see this trickle down to sub-orbital commercial flights one day.
  15. Just saw this and immediately emailed Masei to order a helmet. This will work for riding and Macross cosplay I am currently planning for next year (SDCC or Otakon Baltimore). I really hope I am able to get in on this. I don't know if it is good or bad that every time I check back in on the MW forum, I end up spending money!
  16. So is December 2013 still the estimated release on this? Going to Tokyo Nov 28 - Dec 2 and I would like to see this guy up close and personal before buying.
  17. I've just sent money for two UN Spacy Logos. I would be interested in SMS logo as well as the base pass sticker as well.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gC5-MoDUuRg PetroliciousCo in one of my favorite channels on youtube and this video is one that started it for me. I love the man's passion for his vehicle and his garage is AMAZING!
  19. I had just started browsing ebay and the forum for Yamato YF/VF-19s, but now I will wait for this sucker to drop. I love/hate how when come back to the MW forums every couple months and find myself ordering/pre-ordering stuff.
  20. Yeah, I went through the intro animation and intro screen a couple times before I remembered that little tip from a friend of mine.
  21. Nice, work, I've been toying with the idea of doing a scheme like this for years. Glad to see someone finally do it and hope I become inspired enough to do my own.
  22. I am also resurrecting this thread in hopes that mickyg will pipe in with an update. I just started my VF-1J kit, I bought without realizing it was un-assembled (I thought it was only un-painted). A lot of good photos and tip in this and Hikuro's thread though, that you both of you.
  23. I'm sorry to hear about how this project turned out for you, but I picked up a few tips. I bought a kit recently, not realizing the kit was un-assembled and un-painted (I though just un-painted). This coming from someone who just built their first Real Grade Gundam model. I should start my own thread as a way to keep me motivated to finish it.
  24. Very nice work, I am in for one for sure!
  25. I am thinking about picking up an Armored Ozma model. I have a first issue NMIB First Edition 1/60 toy and I'm not holding my breath for Bandai to re-release the Renewal versions any time soon. Just wanted to heard any thoughts on these kits. I am new to the Bandai modeling scene with just a RG Zeta Gundam on the way.
