As for future Eva isms, the one that stood out most to me was Adam, as well as Neo Atlantis's setup barring a striking resemblance to Seele. Perhaps I was a little vague, but much of what went into Nadia evolved into Evangelion. Red Noa/Blue Noa being the arc's that brought life to Earth share a lot in common with black & white moon eggs of Lilith. Full scale assault of the Nautilus & same on Nerv. Many story element parallels between the shows. But Gargoyle turning out to be human was one of the alltime great plot twists. And it's just too bad Ritsuko couldn't shine as brightly a character as Electra. I just wish Nadia had gotten the 4 brand new movie remake treatment instead of Eva, as Nadia really could have benefitted from story streamlining & updated animation.

Technically, since the next part of Shadow Chronicles is at least a year late, and showing no real signs of being in any kind of production, it's a failed sequal too.

No, I'd watch everything in order (except for the movie, skip that like the plague). The island episodes do have some interesting Gainax-isms, just remember significant awesomeness awaits you after them.

There were definately some aspects the show could have done with out (I'm looking at you magical plant guy powers), but I blame most of that on the writers reading robotech novels. The A.I. thing wasn't explored too much, aside from being a deus ex machina to revive a dead character by copying his memories from a black box into a clone body.

Well I'll be damned. A year or so ago, after coming across a really shitty bootleg set that looked like VHS encoded as low res MPEGS way overscanned & badly re-encoded to DVD, complete with a missing audio channel. I started e-mailing around Universal to see if they had any plans on releasing a set. I got no response. Today however, I got this e-mail It's nice to know not all niche title questiosn get swallowed up by the coorperate machine, and sometimes they even save those e-mails and notify the senders of pending releases. It's a new years miracle!

TV Ending: Shinji rejects Instrumentality for all the reasons I mentioned in the previous topic, the stage set shatters appart, & everyone congratulates him. Movie Ending: Shinji rejects Instrumentality, the egg that Lilith/Rei/God gathered everyone up into LCL inside splits open, everyone spills out into the ocean, Shinji reforms on shore with Asuka. SAME ENDING!

The trick is locking onto, & taking out Kamjin as quickly as possible when he appears. Literally within seconds, the Max World pilot skill & a good degree of luck lockign onto him when he appears is essential.

Two quick notes, EoE was always the intended ending, and even the TV ending the same things happen, just way scaled back. And Gendo persued the Eva project because it was Yui's desire to do so.
