  1. They are the Takatoys stickers, I bought them from TwinMoons for about $9.99 each (Strike set and the base set) You're going to find that half of the stickers you need to do the strike pack will come on the base sticker set. THe base set as about 5x as many stickers as the original sticker sheet that came with my VF-1S Roy. A small magnifying glass helps TONS in trying to identify the stickers on the sheet. Make sure you have a sharp X-acto knife and a cutting board!

    M7 VF-19 Valks

They're pretty crappy. Quality varies greatly from toy to toy. The blue one is usually an amalgan of the pieces from a real Bandai Fire Valk & a Blue Valk. Stickers are terrible too, barely fit the toy. Pieces will be loose, rough, poorly finished. Screws are loose, and the holes almost seemed stripped... But for $9... I mean, I gave one to my friend's 6 year old and he thinks is the best toy EVER, but they are far far far from collectors items. You might wanna get a set to customize... JET FIRE ANYONE?
  3. F'ing fantastic photo-shop in that case! THE GAUNTLNET IS THROWN -- I dare thee, young photo-shoppers, to come up with a custom job that makes us all DROP our jaws! Do so, and you shall receive my eternal adoration.
  4. Misfits... Our songs are better We are the misfits misfits And we're gonna get her
  5. The VF-2SS kit comes with a set of stickers AND water-slide decals.
  6. Any chance you can post a picture or more detailed explanation of what this slivering is? I've heard about it often but never really understood what it means. Do these MicroSOL/SET products help with making the decal film more transparent? I was dissapointed by my recent Bandai VF-2SS decals. The film is very visible on some of the larger decals. I used a thin coat of future before applying the decals, and the film was immediately visible. A coat of Testor's spray-flat hid them a little, but you can still make them out if you look closely
  7. HOLY CRAP! That is one SERIOUSLY weathered foot! You're planning on applying classic "Armor" (tanks and such) weathering techniques to a Gundam? Fantastic idea! I've been drooling over those supremely done tanks you see in many of the mainstream modeling magazines, but have never wanted to do a tank. You've just opened my eyes to a really great idea!
  8. Is that painted? I assume you're making it blue? I notice you're spraying the pieces while they are still on the sprue -- how are you going to deal with the marks left after you cut them out?
  9. Danny Choo's Toy Pics That'll do you good, Wolfx. Plenty of pics of 1/48th Max, a few Gundams, and tons of starwars. The guy's a genius! Check out the pics of the Storm Troopers, it looks like they're real fictional characters!
  10. I found some fantastic images over at Danny Choo The site owner has taken some amazing photos of his VF-1A DYRL Max, Gundam Models, and Star Wars toys. The poses are great, but the photography is the part that really stands out. Take a look! (oops, bad link)
  11. After much delay, here are pics of my VF-1S/FP with about 75% stickers applied! Work keeps me busy and I don't have much time during daylight hours to take photos
  12. Here are some progress shots of my Hasegawa YF-21. I've added the 3rd shade of blue to most of it now, and masking "freehanding" the cockpit area now (there aren't any panel lines there that will fit my paint scheme). I've diverged a bit from my reference pics (WM Cheng + some pics of the bird off of the net) but I'm not much of a stickler for accuarcy Once i've finished the cockpit area, it's full-coat of Future and I'll move on to the landing gear and the decals.
  13. I wonder where Amazon is getting these kits. They are oirignal japanese with no english instructions! It's totally nuts. ... maybe they'll realize their folly and clearance the RX-78
  14. I think that was only true for the YF-21. The VF-22 does not use the mind-control interface.
  15. That middle Black one looks REPULSIVE!
  16. It IS a cool idea, even if the execution was horrendous. Could be done a lot nicer with a 'brush and some masking..
  17. Well, I spent another 3 hours on tuesday and managed to apply about 70% of the stickers to the actualy Valkryie itself. NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP I still have about 20 NO-STEPs to go, and various other tiny-little details. Must post some pics tonight!
  18. Seriously, I think Full Metal Alchemist might one of the best anime I've seen in 10+ years.... And the dub on CTOON is one of the best I've seen as well! If anyone reading hasn't checked it out yet, you're missing something really great!
  19. Your collection at work is more impressive than the one I have at home Here's my 2" UFO catcher TV-Max vinyl toy. It ain't much but it does get a lot attention perched up my LCD panels!
  20. So those are RC tanks? Do the threads actually work?
  21. MAKES ME ANGRY! I spent 15 minutes searching on the carpet for a small black-text sticker, only to find it glued to my foot... but my Valk sure does look a lot sweeter, and that's only 4-hours into the stickering process! (cutting out the customs takes time) How many hours will the whole process take? I'll let you know...
  22. Think they did. I remember seeing a Revell or Tamiya kit of it 15+ years ago at the local hobby shop! I don't think that F-16 looks too crazy - it looks like it had YF-22/23 features grafted onto a body that was modified to resemble Russian fighters... (the thurst vectoring SCREAMS Mac+ YF-21)
  23. Here are some pictures of my YF-21 in-progress... I was inspired by WM Cheng's incredible YF-21 to take my airbrush masking skills to the next level! I probably spend about 10x as much time masking as I do actually painting. So far I've put down a dark blue undercoat, and am spraying over it with varying lighter shades. I've finished most of the 1st ligher shade, and just started the 2nd ( you can see it towards the back, between the vertical stabilizers) A little rough, I know. It's my first airbrushed airplane kit (I've done a bandai mecha kit & some garage kits int he past with brush), so I'm taking it slow. The masking is very challenging, but it's interesting to see how what looks like a poor mask actually comes out very good thanks to how colors blend together when sprayed on lightly.
