  1. Is that painted? I assume you're making it blue? I notice you're spraying the pieces while they are still on the sprue -- how are you going to deal with the marks left after you cut them out?
  2. Danny Choo's Toy Pics That'll do you good, Wolfx. Plenty of pics of 1/48th Max, a few Gundams, and tons of starwars. The guy's a genius! Check out the pics of the Storm Troopers, it looks like they're real fictional characters!
  3. I found some fantastic images over at Danny Choo The site owner has taken some amazing photos of his VF-1A DYRL Max, Gundam Models, and Star Wars toys. The poses are great, but the photography is the part that really stands out. Take a look! (oops, bad link)
  4. After much delay, here are pics of my VF-1S/FP with about 75% stickers applied! Work keeps me busy and I don't have much time during daylight hours to take photos
  5. Here are some progress shots of my Hasegawa YF-21. I've added the 3rd shade of blue to most of it now, and masking "freehanding" the cockpit area now (there aren't any panel lines there that will fit my paint scheme). I've diverged a bit from my reference pics (WM Cheng + some pics of the bird off of the net) but I'm not much of a stickler for accuarcy Once i've finished the cockpit area, it's full-coat of Future and I'll move on to the landing gear and the decals.
  6. I wonder where Amazon is getting these kits. They are oirignal japanese with no english instructions! It's totally nuts. ... maybe they'll realize their folly and clearance the RX-78
  7. I think that was only true for the YF-21. The VF-22 does not use the mind-control interface.
  8. That middle Black one looks REPULSIVE!
  9. It IS a cool idea, even if the execution was horrendous. Could be done a lot nicer with a 'brush and some masking..
  10. Well, I spent another 3 hours on tuesday and managed to apply about 70% of the stickers to the actualy Valkryie itself. NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP NO STEP I still have about 20 NO-STEPs to go, and various other tiny-little details. Must post some pics tonight!
  11. Seriously, I think Full Metal Alchemist might one of the best anime I've seen in 10+ years.... And the dub on CTOON is one of the best I've seen as well! If anyone reading hasn't checked it out yet, you're missing something really great!
  12. Your collection at work is more impressive than the one I have at home Here's my 2" UFO catcher TV-Max vinyl toy. It ain't much but it does get a lot attention perched up my LCD panels!
  13. So those are RC tanks? Do the threads actually work?
  14. MAKES ME ANGRY! I spent 15 minutes searching on the carpet for a small black-text sticker, only to find it glued to my foot... but my Valk sure does look a lot sweeter, and that's only 4-hours into the stickering process! (cutting out the customs takes time) How many hours will the whole process take? I'll let you know...
  15. Think they did. I remember seeing a Revell or Tamiya kit of it 15+ years ago at the local hobby shop! I don't think that F-16 looks too crazy - it looks like it had YF-22/23 features grafted onto a body that was modified to resemble Russian fighters... (the thurst vectoring SCREAMS Mac+ YF-21)
  16. Here are some pictures of my YF-21 in-progress... I was inspired by WM Cheng's incredible YF-21 to take my airbrush masking skills to the next level! I probably spend about 10x as much time masking as I do actually painting. So far I've put down a dark blue undercoat, and am spraying over it with varying lighter shades. I've finished most of the 1st ligher shade, and just started the 2nd ( you can see it towards the back, between the vertical stabilizers) A little rough, I know. It's my first airbrushed airplane kit (I've done a bandai mecha kit & some garage kits int he past with brush), so I'm taking it slow. The masking is very challenging, but it's interesting to see how what looks like a poor mask actually comes out very good thanks to how colors blend together when sprayed on lightly.
  17. I gotta say, these new episodes have been great! Almost recaptures the initial delight I felt when I first started to watch the show. FAR more chemistry between these new characters than there was between the original cast in the later seasons (when O'neil got sick of it) Claudia Black is fantastic as Vala. I love her space-slurm-charlatan act, nice contrast from the hard & stearn character she played on Farscape and in other movies. Now if they could onyl get Teal'c to shave his head again...
  18. Wouldn't amonia be a good cleaner? I've seen amonia break up and carry away paint that was dry 10 years...
  19. I would say get a Treo650. You can pick one up for around $200 with a 2-year commitment from any of the major wireless providers. Check out Buy.com. Treo650 is a Palm based Cellphone-PDA combo. It's the same thing as any of the lesser Palm "Zire" devices, along with an integrated cel-phone and full wireless internet capability. It can connect to ANY type of email-account (POP, IMAP, Yahoo, Outlook, Hotmail, etc.). It can real many kinds of files (Word, Excel, Acrobat, images, video, etc.) It can browse the web, play music, and play video. It can act as a cellular modem for your laptop. In addition to all that, it's also a top-class PDA with a great appointment book, contacts manager, note pad, etc etc etc. It's beefier than the average celphone, beefier than the average PDA, but smaller and handier than any two seperate devices. It's freaking incredible!
  20. I'd love to see a twin side-by-side seater version of a Valk... BIG FAT CANOPY!! Sort of like an F-111, A6, or Mig-32 (twin seater version of the Mig-27 used as a bomber) Call it a Bomber-Valk or something... (ugh FireBomber-Valk...)
  21. Actually I'd prefer some giant twist. The original conception of the show is a little dumb. It's not a re-make of the original story, but rather a re-make disguised as a sequel. Its the exact same situation (all the colonies attacked by cylons, and one fleet survives, and is fleeing to Earth protected by Galactica) only 30-something years later. Some of the same names too... I mean, is it a remake or a sequel? It's vague and hard to tell. I'm glad they are making a decent go at it with the plot, characters, sets, etc. But I'm sure the earlier episodes would have been better if they could tell the WHOLE story from the begining, rather than having to horse-shoe things in as a sequel for nostalgia's sake.
  22. Actually I purposely did not mention the VF-0D because it really IS DIFFERENT! It's a fantastic looking bird, and it's a shame that it didn't get as much face time as the swing-wing units. I really liked the idea of a two-seater Valk where the weapons officer did the targetting work like an F-14. Sure is a lot more believable! The 0D also had a much more interesting color scheme than the other models... now that I think about, it was almost Max-esque...
