I just figured out a way to make the VF-1 MPCs not suck so bad. This is probably old news to everyone else but, just in case there's someone like me who hasn't stumbled across it, I thought I'd point it out. Some people have complained that the VF-1 MPC has floppy legs in fighter mode. While taking photos for a big project I noticed that the MPC has pegs just aft of the hip/intake (on what would be the battloid's back) that just barely plug into the legs with a little work. When these pegs are in the recesses in the legs it locks them into place. Sure, it's not the sturdiest lock in the world, but on the Ben Dixon I'm working on I can now lift it by the nose and shake gently without the legs falling down at all. Yes, shaking hard will probably still cause parts to fly somewhere

So I did some math and determined the old Matchbox battlepods are roughly 1/60 in scale (somebody correct me if I'm wrong). So, I decided to practice using my new manually adjustable digital camera on a Battlepod fighting a 1/60 Yammy. Sounds like innocent fun right? It only took about 2 minutes for my 1/60 to spit up screw cover from its arm. Granted, the pic looks rough but I absolutely baby these things.

Yep, I've been watching Max & Miriya's appendices go for $150 each and more at times! That's ludicrous. When a Max appendix demands the same price as a super Max 1/48 you know something is terribly wrong in this world. Be aware that Toynami has reissued Hikaru's armor already once, they may reissue all the armors again soon. After all, the armors were never described as a limited edition item and none of them are numbered.

my problem with the Detolfs is they're not tall enough, not that they're not deep enough. Still, I could see how these could be incorporated into some cool set ups.

The MPC Armor was better than Yamato's 1/60 armor (although, as mentioned previously, the leg armor has a tendency to pop off). That's just my opinion though as it really does seem to add a lot more to the appearance of the MPCs themselves and I prefer the smoother look. The 1/48 is, of course, king. Remember though, MPC armor used to be easy to get for $19.99 and now is selling for much more. Sometimes MPC armor sells for as much as 1/48 armor and that's just not right.

A new 1/55, perfect transformation, high diecast, valk toy would be so much nicer than chunky reissues.... it would get Bandai getting my money back, that's for sure. Heck, they could even do something in 1/72 scale like the old HCMs. Ooh, or they could do a Joke Machine version 2.0! Just some thoughts -

Honestly, i'm amazed to see this many people still have an interest in the monkey.... why? They were cool and all for the early 80s but wouldn't you rather Bandai produce something newer and cooler to compete with Yamato? I, for one, never purchased a single reissue and never would.

no, again, the stealth does NOT appear in the animation. A dark valk appears but there's nothing to indicate it has gray trim and is anything more than DARK. Certainly no evidence it multi-toned, a VF-1J, or has strike packs???

When you have that many children, you get big boobies. It's only natural.

I really wish Yamato would stop making all of these skull squadron vehicles. I don't think these are out yet either, I think they're not supposed to be out for another week or so.

in the pic of the fighter from below it looks like the head should be painted partially green. I wonder how bad that would have made battloid look though.

either my quicktime plug-in is dead or this thing takes FOREVER to download EDIT - it works, it just takes FOREVER. It's really tough to judge anything since it seems like Robotech gets the least airtime in this promo.

I think that stealth head needs to be black. It stands out a bit much as it is. Nice work though

The whole thing looks like a repainted CF. As such, I would assume the intake covers are the same chocolate brown color and so are the feet.

Yeah, a little too sharp and sleek though. I never thought the fighter looked pointy in the anime. It is a great looking fighter mode though but I think the 1/48 looks closer to how it should.

I'm with you, it'd probably take me several minutes to get from fighter to battloid and back again. Then again, I never find myself in a rush to transform anything.

Lots of a$sholes around here and a few forum & search nazis. Don't let 'em get you down. Just learn which members they are and ignore them. Just to be safe, do some research before posting things. Eventually you'll be caught up enough where it won't matter.

Yo Macross73, I don't know how lively the discussion would be but you should probably start a new thread in the "other anime" section for Super Dimensional Calvary Southern Cross. You'll probably get a few comments. It won't be as fun since AgentOne is banned but I'm sure 1st Border Red will have some comments about the show he'd like to share.

Oh my... that's just wrong. I own a few of them and have to this day never even bothered transforming them... I can only imagine how ugly the end result would be.

This sounds like a good opportunity to try Krylon Fuzion or whatever it's called.
