  1. I actually would love to get Arcadia M&Ms... I just don't think it's going to happen
  2. Your wish is that Arcadia has the SDF Macross license for 1/60 toys. They're not going to tell you so you need a time frame. If you haven't seen a toy announcement in x months, you will believe they lost the license. Solve for x and let me know. For the record, I'd love to be wrong and will honor a number you give me provided it's reasonable and you also don't insist they DO have the license.
  3. So wishful thinking that we should all accept until when?
  4. It depends. You can pay for exclusivity, you can pay less for specificity (ie. I want to make a Mac+ YF19 vs I want to make toys for Mac+). I have no idea how BW goes at it. I'm sure BW tries to keep things somewhat equitable while trying to maximize profit.
  5. My theory is supported by current evidence, yours is based on... hope?

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

Not in the HMR line and not a YF19. It'd have to be a new mold so hopefully improved.

    Bandai 1/35 DX VF-1

Dx frontier stuff is 1/60, only models are in 1/72.
  8. C'mon, that there is grade A speculation. Arcadia is taking their time because the factory is having issues? They did the craziest paint scheme yet in that factory. I heard all products under the old license had to be announced by last year end making the GBP Arcadia's last cash in on a license that technically belonged to a bankrupt company. The story goes that everything then went out for bid. So after that, nobody knows who has what. All we can go by are the announcements and those seem to indicate Bandai went on a spending spree. If you need proof Bandai had a lot more going on, check the other threads. It doesn't prove Arcadia didn't get any sort of license for SDF macross but if you were Bandai wouldn't you try to box out the competition? It seems like if I can't say Arcadia lost the license then others shouldn't spread rumors and speculation that they didn't right?
  9. I keep repeating it because I believe it to be true... but I keep also stating it's just my belief. I'm not really convinced any one is harmed by it. The after market reflects pricing that shows a company that went under and a second company that has not produced many toys... this rumor should theoretically LOWER after market prices because it indicates that another company might start making a new generation of toys. Who wants to be stuck with the old stuff when something new could be in the pipeline? I get where you're coming from, speculation can be annoying, but like I said, we're dealing with an industry that isn't open so speculation and rumor is going to happen. I'm sorry my speculation has rubbed you the wrong way, I'll try to be a bit less vocal about it for a while.
  10. So no, even if Arcadia never produces another 1/60 VF-1, I never get to state it again? You can see where that seems a bit silly to me right? Throw out a time frame I can work with here...

    Bandai 1/35 DX VF-1

Not twice the size, that would be 1/24. What 1/72 line are you referring to?
  12. Yeah... pretty sure I can't affect prices and sadly I've sold off all my V2s except the ones I'm planning on keeping for comparisons to future generations of toys and some very low value CFs. Is there a trade show coming up where Arcadia would be announcing more product? They're not going to tell you explicitly they lost the license just like toy companies never tell you when something becomes vaporware. Is there a time frame at which it becomes okay for me to voice my opinion again?
  13. It doesn't appear at this time to be a kit but there's not a whole lot to go off of right now. Remember Yamato wanted to make their 1/2000 but ultimately settled on 1/3000 so who knows what will happen between now and a launch... if that ever happens at all.

    Bandai 1/35 DX VF-1

if it weren't for the stupid light up gimmicks I'd be hoping $250ish. After all, Yamato was giving us the 1/60 V2 for peanuts in comparison. I'm assuming the V2 was a bright spot for them and not the reason they're not around any more . What variants will we see? I'm guessing: 1) VF-1J Hikaru 2) VF-1S Focker 3) VF-1S Hikaru I'd be surprised if it goes beyond that but as I recall, Yamato never planned on making many 1/48s.
  15. But I think they lost the license... I don't get what the problem is? Again, I can't impact reality with my thoughts. You don't have to worry that I'm going to convince BW to pull the license from Arcadia if they still do have it. What if people are assuming Arcadia has the license and Arcadia has lost it and they hadn't considered that? I'd say I'm doing these folks a service by pointing out the likelihood that they should reconsider what they're waiting for. It's not like I go around stating "Arcadia has definitely lost the license." I say things like "I think..." "it seems to me..." or what have you. Worst case scenario is someone sees my comment and says "Jeez, I hope that guy is wrong." Then, if I'm wrong, they'll feel relieved when Arcadia makes an announcement. No harm, no foul.
  16. How is it counter-productive? My stating "I think they lost the license" doesn't actually impact whether they have or not. The toy industry doesn't produce negative news releases so Arcadia isn't going to tell you they don't have the license any more... well, Mr. K might on twitter if you ask him. Maybe someone should try that. Otherwise, the absence of product is all we have to go off of. Bandai didn't go 1/60 though so there's definitely a door of possibility there.

I also owned Yamato's V1 1/60 toys, that didn't keep me from getting excited for V2. I did state earlier that now is the time for excitement and the time for negativity will arrive when we all know more about the designs and compromises made. I'm sure some people will bemoan color selections, others landing gear details (or God forbid, a lack of landing gears), and some of these designs may even parts-form! You can skip straight to negativity if you like, we'll meet you there in a few weeks or months when more information becomes available. It's inevitable, there will be loud protestations and gnashing of teeth... but for now we don't know enough so YAY!

Why is everyone happy? I demand negativity and anger!
  20. It's really too bad they can't just work out a deal and continue the 1/60 line as Robotech Veritechs in the states if they're being boxed out of Japan by Bandai. They'd never do it because it'd mean BW would never work with them again.

    Bandai 1/35 DX VF-1

I think Bandai is all in with 1/100 on the HMRs so the 1/35 move lets them do "the best ever" VF-1 and keeps them from cannibalizing any HMR dollars.

    Bandai 1/35 DX VF-1

Okay, can I pose a guess? There's something in the nosecone that folds out to receive the legs. The legs then do the anime accurate transformation and latch on to those connection points.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

For a YF-19 vs. a VF-19Advance, we would expect no need to include the stands for the wing boosters and no wing boosters. That seems like it leaves room to me for a fold drive and an arm cannon. I've got my fingers crossed... that would also go a long way to convincing people to double-dip (I don't need convincing ).
