New Robotech Shadow Chronicles Vid
Roy Focker replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Wait a minute!!!! How come Vince is'nt wearing a man-boob supporting, buns hugging, crotch sqeezing jump suit? -
I knew about that one for a while. I don't think it was meant to be that. It is rising too low on his body Notice that he's missing feet too? Still pretty funny.

The dialogue is horrendous. The voice acting is overly melodramatic. They are trying too hard. That sure sounds like Robotech to me. -

Holy crap those are huge!!!!! Didn't Punky Brewster have to get her's reduced in size? Sure jugs that huge are good at strip club but won't they get in the way of flighting a plane? The boobs on Jack Baker (is that him?) are big too. Wait are they even wearing clothes? I mean they aren't fitten like clothes or even tights. They are like paint on. These pictures are just laughable. -
I second that nomination. It is 1984 right?

I once read something about a Viggo Morgenten(spelling?) rumor.

Summary so far of those that expressed interest from a few toy forums I use 10. I think a total of 20 interested is needed. As I believe half the number would actually attend. Suggestion of a possible location state/city wise? Star Wars Weirdos: Knaves (Vancover) jucofett (Tigard) RussG (Silverton) echuta Wildcard (Portland) Gijoe Geeks: CrazyBones (Portland) Dead-End (Salem) Macross Losers: Pat S (Puget Sound, has possible location). Skullsixx (Portland) Plus: Me.

My Animation on Youtube - Feedback Please
Roy Focker replied to Area88's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So true. -
Yes I mean a meet on a icy glacier surrounded by the tunda. My Emiko friends said we can borrow they igloo. If that doesn't work more closer towards the NW as Pat suggest.
-
A region of North America. As in the North East, South West and North West.
-
How does a mini-MW of the NW con sound? Don't believe there's enough us here but if you include other toys line we might get a fairly sized crowd.

Well I got mine Last Person to Get one Why does one pre-order? Cause you want it quick. Why does one go with a group buy? Cause you want it quick but not so quick that you'll not willing to pass up a good deal. Still mine came a week after everyone's else. Why? The scaler (see the 'For Sell section' misplaced my under. When you use a new seller no matter how much good rep they are getting from others you are taking a risk. There's no filling a claim with ebay it's just you and the seller. An internet search indicated the seller was a businessman not just a guy who could get us a great deal. Still this was the test to decide if I'd order from him in the future. Having my order lost doesn't encourage me in this. When he told me he never got a payment. I was worried. Are there none left? Does this mean I get my money back and have to find one from someone else? Is he never going to give my money back? Why am I so lucky? What does he mean show proof? Well here's your proof. Oh he's sorry and sending it out tommorrow. This doesn't help my confidence. Word is he forgot to send an item to a flake which some might consider karma. Difference is I wasn't a flake. Do I think that a certain flake's behavior may have rubbed the seller bad in that it would show it his first response back to me? Why yes. The seller should have noticed a few things. Besides having an extra toy he should have noticed that he had extra money. You check the books. I got the toy after showing proof a week later but it was the least that the seller had to do. I can not praise him for excellent service like some have been doing because the service I got was pretty average after the mistake. If I was pleased with the service I'd be using him all the time. Now I'll be willing to give other sellers here a try. When I find one that treats me right they'll likely get most of my business. If they all treat me the same then they'll each get my business. He didn't lose a customer but he didn't gain an exclusive one either. Transforming Woes When I first took it out of the plasic the legs and wings started coming out so decided to transform it. When I got the fuslage and it didn't move at first I stopped what I was doing. Sat in front of the computer to watch Graham's video. I watched that part a couple of times. Each time holding back my effort until I was sure of things. Then it happen "pop". I wasn't forcing or dropping things! What's the noise? Did it break are the stories true? The part moved like it should on an attempt I wasn't expecting it to. After that first transformation I noticed the stress marks everyone's talking about. Taking a screw driver I loosen the screws and used a file on the tabs. I believe the stress marks had to do with the screws being too tight and the lack of a washer where one is needed. I think I could still transform it again without doing the fix but since it is a easy, harmless fix I did it anyways. The next transformation was easier. As for other problems I really don't notice or care that enough to think the shoulder gap is a big deal. Same goes for the angle of the gunpod and landing gear. That's stuff is minor. 1/60 vs the 1/72 You know I think the 1/60 VF-1 really needed the make over. While pretty decent looking in fighter mode it was pretty blah in battroid mode. Small head and looked inmobile. In the large 1/48 scale its a totally improved toy. The larger YF-19 is bigger, has some new details but I don't see it as a major improvement from the smaller scale one. Still a great looking toy but the newer version wasn't as needed as the one for the VF-1 was.

Either metal or they could have just used a washer to fit between the gret block and the screw. Really a big problem is that the screws in general are too tight. One of the shoulder inter covers popped out on me. Since my fingers were having trouble popping it back in I decided to loosen the screw on the shoulder. The screw wasn't budging at first. I suspect all the screws are too tight.
-
I got the same stress marks as Wicked Ace. Not sure if they came from first attempt at transforming it or was there before. Meaning it could of happen on my first tug. After that I decided to transform along with Graham's footage. Looking at the fight I then discovered the marks. Doesn't look too serious. I think someone just screwed it too tight.

Robotech Music on David Letterman
Roy Focker replied to ComicKaze's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I guess this means the music is cheap to purchase. Expect to hear in it elevators and deparment stores next. -
Then how come some of us don't end with serious problems? Lets say not all yamato are duds but some are. Then wouldn't everyone with more than one yamato have a greater chance of getting a dud? Are some of us just more lucker than other or something?
-
Good glad someone started this topic. As an ower of merger 6 yamatos I have no major problems. Still waitng for my YF-19 to arrive. Now I have had chipped paint, the legs on my small scale VF-1s keep falling out but those problems happened after a good amount of time and use. I even have a first edition VF-11 and no breaks yet. Legitmate breaks aside I think most people here knick pick too much over everything. You guys notice mistakes so small that I'll look unless you some of point them out and then bitched about it.

I'm thinking "Sci-fi, Anime and Block Busters type crap" but nothing offical yet

Well whether the rest of world thought them alive or dead would they honestly care to see this low budget film with a complete nobody as the star? Maybe if word spread that this nobody Lynn Minmay had a full frontal nude scene there would be a larger audience otherwise the rest of the world might not care to see it. Janice might draw a few crowds but hearing that she's has bit part of villian instead the staring role might make the audience think her career is over and this film is going to be a bomb. Who wants to see a bomb? Hmmm I guess she would have to do a full nude scene as well. to get an audience past that of the Macross.
-
Well you could say the VF-0 is a facelift of the VF-1. While different "looks" they still look related. Does this megatron look anything like megatron?

What district to stay in, in Tokyo
Roy Focker replied to jwinges's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Wait taking photos is bad in Japan? I spent 5 years of my childhood next to Disneyland. There sure were a lot of Japanese tourist with cameras. Even when I went last year there were some. Now you guys are telling me if you decide to visit them with your camera they will throw you out? Talk about a double standard -
Hugo works after all if they hardly look like the transformers does it really need to sound exactly like them?
