  1. OK I was replying to something 3 years ago, I'm dumb
  2. There's some Rowboattech stuff I've seen that had "half-guardian" versions of modern-day (for the '80s) planes as pre-"veritech" prototypes. Trying to find practicality in any kind of Giant Robot is a lost cause, really. There's no real reason a giant robot would be better tactically than any other vehicle, at least in our current form of warfare. At least in Macross they tried to logically explain that they needed giant robots in order to fight the giant aliens hand-to-hand. Even in your "half-GERWALK" example there's just too many moving parts and joints and things to really make it practical, maintenance and even building them in the first place would be astronomical in price.
  3. Oh come on. It was Bruce Dern's greatest work! OK, that's not saying much, but still, it wasn't that bad. Actually, wait, that fox of a daughter of his was his greatest work
  4. The Robot Damashii Stark Jegan and Geara Zulu are now "in stock" at HLJ. I have to leave on a trip on Friday, I hope they make it here by then! I'm super excited about these, I absolutely LOOOOVE the Stark Jegan (even if it's paired down from the original CCA-MSV version) and the Geara Zulu is looking pretty cool too.
  5. Maybe if they did a PG more often than once in a blue moon then they could get some done. I don't see them doing a PG GM any time soon, though. But I would buy a PG RX-79[G] for danged sure.
  6. Oh really? That ain't a Tomahawk, at least not one I've ever seen. Similar, maybe. But not a Tomahawk. Not an original Warhammer by any means. Unless you saw a different trailer?
  7. Stop making me want one!!! And I just sold my armored ozma
  8. Anyone with extras they want to get rid of, be sure to check out my WTB list in the wanted forums
  9. It's becoming painfully clear that HG is out for one thing: Money. Not the fans, certainly not the fans. They just want money. Instead of trying to work with people like this for both to benefit financially AND placate the fans, they just stomp and sue. Stomp and sue. Battletech is another great example of this, especially the most recent wranglings they've been having over the unseens reseen and then unseen again and MechWarrior 5. It's ridiculous that they just can't come to an agreement. Instead of finding a way to make everyone happy, they either just C&D and sue, or they demand completely unreasonable licensing fees. What they are losing out on is the crossover fans. I wouldn't know much about Macross or Robotech if it wasn't for Battletech, and that exposure made me a fan. By HG C&D-ing and suing everything they can find that potentially crosses their trademarks (The big battle they had over MechWarrior 5 was over a Warhammer shown in the game trailer that was actually the redesigned Warhammer, NOT the original Macross design (Tomahawk). The redesigns of the originally Macross (and other Anime mechs that were lost in the original power struggles) just look somewhat similar so that continuity could be kept in the game world. HG got their panties in a bunch over it anyway ), all they are doing is alienating everyone but the die-hard life-long Robotech fans who think they can do no wrong. Battletech fans are bitter, Macross fans are bitter, etc. etc. In the long run they are shooting themselves in the foot. I'm reminded of Aesop's fable, The Dog and the Bone: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dog_and_the_Bone Sorry if this all has been covered, I'm just rambling because I've been thinking about this lately.
  10. Oh you did NOT just say Independence Day was the worst Sci-Fi of all time. Oh no you di'int!
  11. In the tiny picture it's shown with some Robot Damashii VF's which are about 6" tall. It's just slightly bigger than that according to that picture in GERWALK mode. So, I'm going to guess the scale is about 1/144. Definitely not any bigger than 1/100.
  12. Here's a good question, what Gundam mechas would you kill to see done in HG/HGUC/MG/PG/etc. etc.? For me, the list is pretty simple. 1. YMS-16M Xamel. I would kill for a HGUC of this. It's from 0083 so I'm always surprised it gets so little coverage! (there's only an MSIA and a B-Club resin kit) 2. MS-06 Zaku II Gunner. Once the Xamel was made, this would be an easy one to make in HGUC form, since it uses the Xamel's cannon. 3. Of course, if you make the Zaku II Gunner, you gotta have his spotter... MS-06F Zaku II Range Finder Type "God's Eye" 4. MSA-0011[bst] S Gundam Plan 303E "Deep Striker". And finally, 5. MSZ-006C1[bst] Zeta Plus "Hummingbird". All in HGUC, though I would certainly accept MGs
  13. You know there's a real Nome, Alaska, right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nome,_Alaska
  14. Boy, if he didn't like the Quarter I'd hate to see his thoughts on the DX VF-27.
  15. Don't forget using the broken arm as a club to beat to death babies and saintly grandmothers.
  16. Even worse, they have crotch issues. I'd rather my shoulder explode than have crotch issues.
  17. You could always use Starship Troopers toys from the ill-fated but totally awesome Micro Machines line. Even if the movie was questionable, the bug designs from that movie were awesome. Dunno why, but I love bug designs like that (like the Vajra, for instance).
  18. I guess that depends on what Yamato stuff you have. The DXes are nice, but not V2 VF-1 nice.
  19. Probably went in to the same void as Yamato's 1/60 Monster prototype.
  20. I'd buy Vajra figures, even if they were "fully (un)posable" PVC figures. As long as they were in-scale (or at least somewhat) with the "good guy" toys. I love the little Red Vajra figure that came with Bandai's Quarter.
  21. Pretty sure my first ones were the 1/144 regular Heavyarms and then I know I had the the 1/144 "HG" Heavyarms Custom and Gundam Nataku from Wing/Endless Waltz. That was my first real exposure to Gundam in the mid '90s when Wing was on TV and you could find Gundam kits and figures in Toys R Us and other stores. That's where it started for me, still have a strong soft spot for the Heavyarms Custom. I hope they do a better version someday (yeah right). Not long after that I found GundamStoreAndMore online and started buying MG kits. I know for sure the RX-78[G] and RG-79[G] were my first MG kits.
  22. Try emailing Yamato USA. Since the Patlabors are OK to sell in the US and are on their website they might help you out. They sent me parts for my Garland totally free and no-questions-asked.
  23. Hopefully they're including all the heads.......... We all can dream, right?
  24. Normally I stick to the MGs but I like HGUCs because they are quick and fun to play around with, more like action figures than the MGs. They also have more of the "unusual" models that I like. I have yet to do a PG unfortunately, I've always wanted to but never got around to it.
