  1. Aside from the VF-1 the models are complete. The VF-1 needs some decals and verniers applied but i couldnt resist getting it in the shoot with the other 2. The YF-19 has ben pretty much complete for a while now but i managed to put some finishing touches on it yesterday. The YF-21 has been sitting on the "boneyard" shelf for a couple years. When i moved back to the states from england i thought i had lost the landing gear, gear doors and thrust vector paddles. Well saturday night i found them. So yesterday i decided to put some last minute work in on it and finished it off. These arent my best work but they look great sitting together on my shelf. If i had another set of the kits theres alot id do differently. Enjoy the pics.
  2. Difficult to pull off that scheme on the 19 and 21/22. On the VF-1 the paint scheme was designed so when the plane transformed to battroid it would look like the school girl sailor outfit. dont know if the same effect would carry over to the 19 and 21 series aircraft.
  3. You dont need a better camera. You just need more light on the subject and stop using the camera flash.
  4. Thanks guys. The mud spatter effect is actually 3 different layers of effects. First is earth tone pastels mixed with alcohol applied to give a base dustiness. The second layer is my mud mix of acrylic modeling paste, tamiya Olive drab and JN green mixed. Then thined and spattered on with a toothbrush. This provided a flater spattered look of dried mud. Then a second thicker layer of the mix was dabbed on with a ratty brush to give some texture of clumpy dirt on top of the dried mud and dust. I wanted it to look like the tank had travelled alot but not gone through any deep mud. Just shallow dirty puddles that got it wet and then road and field dust and dirt that collected on it. I think it worked out well.
  5. Been working on this as time allows. The new trumpeter E-100.
  6. Any progress WM? I wait with baited breath to see mine blown away.
  7. Im smelling...Crap. Another unassembled action figure. More heavy handed panel lines. And little value for money spent. Also Mechtech bandai plastic is some of the worsti have dealt with. Their pressure points from their "friction fit" are so tight the plastic will split and crack in a short time. The feet of my Raiden and Shinden had to be disassembled, reenforced and cleaned up because of that. The only reason i spent any money for those was because they are the only game in town for those models. Bandai is the microsoft of the anime model world. They arent the best but sometimes they are the only ones out there.
  8. Be sure you paint the outer rim of the rear wheels silver. On the real thing they are chrome. The spokes are matt black and all the lug nuts on teh wheels are silver. I see so many tumbler builds look off because the builders just slap black on the things, gloss the windows and call it done. Theres alot of varation on the tumbler. Just google search it and youll find alot of good pics ahowing this.
  9. actually tha barrel was for the JagdPANZER not Jagd PANTHER. The Jagd panther had the same 88 mounted in the king tiger.
  10. Nope just a nice realistic flash with all the proper sound effects. It doesnt sound toy like at all either.
  11. Ths just left my workbench. 1/16 scale. 3 days. full function. Freehand camo.
  12. Yes they were posted a couple pages back in this thread.
  13. True but 1 That series was not created by Shoji Kawamori. 2 The series isnt officially accepted in the official macross timeline. Though that could be argued since the music from it was used in M7 by the other singing/fighting team whose name escapes me.
  14. Actually there is a destroid he hasnt done. Think Macross Zero
  15. I hope to see mine monday or tuesday. I have very little time to complete it. I have a 1/16 Jagdpanther on the way too.
  16. Finally a moscato kit ill need to use instructions on.
  17. I surf the main page all the time. Love looking at the old school goodness. I just dont like the build quality of the old kits is all. But all my favorite subjects have been remade in plastic or resin within the past 6 years so im all good.
  18. Nope no commissions. All just built for myself. I just moved into a new house with a 400 square foot basement and one wall of it had shelves built into it. So i have plenty of display and expansion space now.
  19. Agreed as well. I have family in jersey and have visited NY many times. This movie portrayed the city well. At least before the first big boom that is.
  20. JJ Abrams has said the viral marketing stories go along side the movie but the movie is intended to stand alone. The viral marketing was more for awareness and misdirection. Its understandable too. im tired of going to movies only to know all the littledetails because they have been previewed on the news and plastered all over the internet. Not knowing a thing made this movie much more enjoyable on its own merits.
