  1. I have a Darth Vader Hasbro Sith light saber. I'd like to get my hooks on one of them Masters Replicas though!
  2. This is a good rule to live by...for the most part. George Lucas does say many a time that the films are the "true" Star Wars and only the films. However, when we start talking legally with respect to canon, it's a bit different. The scripts, radio dramas, and the novelisations of the six films are also legally considered canon as per the official policy of Lucasfilm Ltd. This makes perfect sense, since much of that material was written by Lucas himself. Up until three years ago, I believed Owen Lars was related to Obi-wan. The EU novels I read in the Star Wars Insider are only interpretations not canon. But I like the novels if there's something in the movies that need more explaining.
  3. I can only wish I can see it tommorrow and this weekend! I'm working and traveling tommorrow and I'm working as a client to my contract work this weekend!
  4. Hmmm. . . DS9 was a pretty good idea. But then again, it was a "senior crew" perspective similar to the bridge crew. Yeah, there are always other possibilities and ideas.
  5. Yeah, very true, that was James Earl Jones' voice after the mask was taken off, wasn't it? All grins from ol' Sebastian all right! I still think they should've aged Hayden, "whole" man before or otherwise. Hell, better yet, they should've also took the late Alec Guiness off and put Ewan in his place! Young Jedis again now that Darth is gone! Another two woolongs!
  6. Yeah, who knows indeed. Though Trek probably needs a good hiatus for now (as painful as that maybe). Then maybe in a couple of years, it'll make a big comeback again.
  7. They should've aged Hayden Christensen for that shot (whether through CGI or makeup). I thought that was kind of goofy to add Hayden and I also thought it was sort of disrespectful to the late Sebastian Shaw who played the old Anakin. (BTW, the 100th B-Day of the late Sebastian Shaw is 10 days after the release of Episode III). Just my two woolongs!
  8. Great Pix! I watched the Blues perform every year from 1986 to 1999. I never grew tired of watching them. They made me proud to be a United States Marine!
  9. Don't blame the writers, B & B wrote These Are The Voyages not them. Well, all the same, whoever wrote Big E, whether "B & B" or the writer of the SW Holiday Special all these seasons, killed the show! All freakos!
  10. That's exactly what I was expecting [Federation founding]. All these (Enterprise) characters had potential. It's too bad we had writers who had their heads up their a**es who did the show. Again, I love my TNG characters, but it was lame making them steal the thunder from the Big E characters. Every other Trek finale did okay without help from the other incarnations.
  11. Man, I knew there was a reason I drifted away from watching Enterprise. The finale was pure B.S. I like CDR Riker and Deanna Troi, but come on! this ain't their show. They [writers] really screwed the pooch on this one by making it a TNG ep. Like Ms. Jolene Blalock of shooting the final ep, "It's apalling." Exactly what we got!
  12. LoL! I always imagined Mace Windu cursing when mauling a couple of droids or when he confronting Tyrannus/Dooku, "Party's over Mutha f***a!"
  13. Is this for real? Someone who actually has talent and clout and sci-fi cred wants to save trek? Not those B&B hacks? If it's true, Paramount should be calling him right about.....now. It's probably wishful thinking and with the politics in the studios, it's a long shot.
  14. Like I posted earlier, that "Seven of Nine" effect don't do you anygood if you have a poorly written story. It's sad what's happening to Trek. Again, maybe it's time for another hiatus.
  15. WHY OH WHY is it that the prequels of the most popular science fiction franchises aren't fairing so well? I personally enjoyed the Star Wars prequels (and can't wait for the final one). As you know, a lot of SW fandom don't share my optimism or take it at face value like I do. I'm a big Trek fan too. But the writers are what is killing ( or should I say have killed) the "Big E." Either someone's run out of ideas, the fans expect more or both!
  16. Maybe it's time for another Star Trek hiatus. Hell, it won't hurt it (it didn't from 1969 to '79). Hiatus has worked for Star Wars. (True, they [prequels] can never "live up" to the original trilogy, and half the SW fandom, don't like the prequels, but at least they're not as horrid as whatever is happening to the ST franchise.)
  17. I like Ms. Blalock, but the problem is, someone thought the "chick in the cat suit" (ala 7 of 9 of the last series) deal is what draws viewers, WRONG ANSWER! Chicks in catsuits and great special effects should only be frosting on the cake. The writers are the ones that make or break the stories. It's too bad that this [Enterprise] one might die a painful death. That's not a very pleasing way to go.
  18. Macross Opening Song
  19. Get off the crack pipe!
  20. To quote Darth Vader, "Most Impressive."
  21. Sniff, sniff! I can't believe the Tomcat is leaving
  22. no it doesnt have the deleted scenes re-added i myself would have wanted to see the supposed scene where luke is on dagobah training and slices up trees, etc. You're kidding, right? What's the matter, George too stingy about us seeing those lost treasures?
  23. It's about friggin' time! I was expecting that to happen with the Episode V Special Edition back in 1997. Finally! Anyone know if the extras will contain all (if not most of) the scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor? It would be nice to see Luke "Wormy" Skywalker with his pals at Anchorhead and what they were like. Or see the Snowtroopers get mauled by the captured wampa!
  24. err, several of the launch sequences from the opening show tomcats with NH (CAW-11, then stationed on the big E) stenciled on the tailfins.. and then it mentions the USS Enterprise- "present day" (early 1980s) the actual planes that flew in their place at Miramar may have actually been that, but during the opening part of the movie, Maverick is from the VF-213 Black Lions. What's more, all missile shots filmed in the final dogfight were done by the VF-114 Fighting Aardvarks (IIRC they had JUST given up their nose-stripes), you can again plainly see the "NH" and "VF-114" in several shots. Not that we should really be giving this any great deal of thought... TopGun certainly doesn't work very hard to be consistent in their action footage. That's affirmative on the CVW-11 a/c being shown in "Top Gun." I think they were stock footage shot by both the Navy and the producers Actually CVW-15 was with the U.S.S. Carl Vinson CVN-70 at the time (also one of three carriers used in the movie!). And VF-1 was with CVW-2 with Ranger.
