  1. Honestly, most of the complaints I hear are b/c the game is less broken then Gears 1 sounded. Basically, less exploitable and more about thinking than just getting lucky (like grenade tossing in CoD4).
  2. Okay, that video card costs almost as much as a console. Then you have to worry about RAM, which on my computer is stupidly expensive (still $60+ for a 1GB stick and my comp is 4 years old!). You also don't play online games with "equal" people. Someone who's comp is better might play better b/c they have that extra second of lag-free time that you might not get. All in all, comps are expensive to keep up to speed. I hit Circuit City and Toys R Us today, neither is running any kind of good sales. Heck, Circuit City is going out of business in my area and they only have stuff marked 10% off or less (games have all the % off's marked out, so they aren't even on sale even though the signs in the store say EVERYTHING is marked off). And Toys R Us ended their buy Gears 2 get a $15 gift card yesterday. So I'll just be waiting for the big Christmas sales that analysts are expecting. It amazes me that the gaming industry isn't getting some kind of serious reality check with the ridiculously priced games and the poor economy...
  3. Actually, I didn't like PD as much b/c it was laggy. It was fun, like Goldeneye fun, but the frame rate dropping out of nowhere would really piss me off sometimes. Oh, and for those that want to add me as a friend: Gamertag = protostar888 I play mainly CoD4 right now, but I'm going to get Gears soon and hopefully some game for Christmas. Anyone know if any of the major stores are having nice deals around Christmas on top games?
  4. I feel you on that one. I wish they would remake Goldeneye (just new graphics, leave everything else alone...well, maybe some EXTRA maps. I think I'll probably end up buying Gears 2 since I have CoD4 already and have never played a Gears game.
  5. At least IW is doing CoD6 from what I've read. There are some fun things to this game, but the accuracy issues and huge weapon balance issues stop it from being CoD4 good. I think that a LOT of the problems I have with weapon balance could be fixed by making everyone have almost no health, so that when you shoot somebody, they actually die instead of having time to turn around and shoot you (and usually kill you w/ the sub machine gun the noob's carrying).
  6. I'm interested in seeing what the people here think of GoW2 b/c the multiplayer is catching serious flak on other boards. But at the same time, it's hard to get an opinion from a regular person, not someone that's biased to like it... I'll say that Call of Duty: World at War demo makes me not want to get the full game. The weapons are VERY unbalanced and I can't stand when I aim a gun at someone a few feet away that's not even looking at me, empty the clip, and they don't even appear to have taken damage. I'm not a bad player, I usually rank top 3 in CoD4. The game also feels slower than other games, even CoD4.
  7. Where's the cheapest (but still reliable/safe) place to buy these from?
  8. Wow, I guess I will definitely be passing these up in favor of the models then. Might consider some of the other ones down the road (YF-19, YF-21, VF-4), but the price is just ridiculous.
  9. You could give one to me and I'd be happy to relieve the stress of having to review two at once.
  10. No problem, somebody on the board explained it to me, so I'm just passing on the knowledge.
  11. That's fighter specific. So if you have the YF-21 selected as your fighter and you only played 5 stages with it, all the others will be blank. You can switch back and forth using the down analog command/button.
  12. Wow, didn't realize that these kits came looking that lackluster. I guess stickers help A LOT!
  13. So, when's the next big hobby show or event that we'll likely get more info on these from? Or would it be more likely to find out from a magazine?
  14. Finally, 00 Gundam is 00 again thanks to Sumaragi! (and her one size too small uniform )
  15. Is it just me or do the arms look kinda like Fast Packs (original Macross)? Never noticed that before...
  16. Anyone think we'll ever see Zone of Enders Revoltechs? (or has anyone ever asked the company directly if they'll make any and gotten a response)? I've always wanted one of those Jehuty 2.0 kits but could never find one at a decent price (as most are just recasts).
  17. You know, the "box" missions in MAF would have been much cooler if you used gerwalk to carry the boxes.
  18. Pretty sure I S ranked that using a maxed out YF-21. That plane just rocks in this game (and has a pretty broken special that one shots almost everything, even most bosses).
  19. Or Orci just doesn't know what it looks like and heard the name of the truck (which might not be called a pick-up officially)? The design sucks. Just another generic bot with a big name slapped on him. And WTF is ravage? Didn't I see him in some generic robot movie already??? Epic fail like the rest of the movie franchise...
  20. Right you are. My bad on that one. Forgot that they called the armor sets wave 3. And you're probably right about Toynami not knowing when they'll be released. Maybe it is a little too early for me to be drawing comparisons. All I'm saying is that the models, which are bigger and near PT and look better, should be more expensive than the 1/100's. I'm still curious to see a price tag on these...
  21. I'm guessing then that the only way people did that was by sticking psp 3000 screens in a 2000 or 1000 b/c I thought the 3000 was still unhackable...
  22. One thing I'd like for a sequel is some kind on small on screen indicator when you're getting close to the walls. I know there is a map, but honestly, in the heat of battle I don't pay it much attention and running into walls and getting stuck have caused me to die on some of the harder missions.
  23. Actually, only Wave's 1 and 2 lacked Super/Strike packs. Wave 3 included them. On Ebay, you could get the super/strike version for $25 (often shipped for that price). Not sure now, haven't looked recently. And the quality on these was great aside from an issue with the shoulder breaking (but didn't actually inhibit it in any way) and the peg holes being hard as hell to get to fit correctly with the other parts. Overall, it's basically a great, cheap toy! Plus it was perfect transformation on top of it all. Since Bandai has yet to show any kind of armor, etc. in any pics and even had a Luca and a Michael on display, I'm doubting they come with super armor. They may be saving those for later (like they did with the model kits), but I'll probably just hold out and buy the models anyway.
  24. HLJ coverage... Very nice pic of the Alto Super Pack version http://www.hlj.com/hlj_gallery2/v/ajmhs08/...C_7934.jpg.html
