I agree, GBU is a better game. However, it's the 4th GB game if I recall correctly, so they've had plenty of time to tune it. Now that they have so much effort put into Macross, I'm assuming they will make another, more complete game b/c they can use all the stuff from this game, throw in more fighters and maybe make fast packs/armor an add on option for any valk and make a couple new levels and BAM, new game in the spirit of the GB series. So it wouldn't shock me to hear them say they are making another one in a few months due out in a year or so. However, this game does have a few things that make it different and I like them. So, quick summary...they put a lot of work into this one, they can port all that work directly into the next game, which makes the next one like 65% done or more and have PLENTY of material to put into the next game. So they most likely will make another. As far as no armor for the frontier valks...that's just lazy on their part. Hell, half the Frontier pics IN THE GAME have armored versions of the valks...

Oh, that level was a *****. The way I ended up beating it was to pick a fighter that had a melee special attack for the 3sp bar special and went into gerwalk mode, flew to the ceiling and just flew circles around him shooting him with the rifle. It would only hit a few times per clip and wouldn't take off too much health, but it worked well enough for me to get him down to about half HP and then I used the special melee attack 2 times in a row to kill him...

I think it has something to do with Sharon Apple. There is even a pilot skill that makes that happen to enemies. So I believe it's just part of the stage and trying to recreate the "disorientation" Sharon makes people feel.

So, any fastpack/armor versions on the horizon?

Here is a trick that will serve you well for tough fights. Knock the character down to about half HP (you may have to play them several times to be able to last that long), then do the special and it should kill them. If you do the special while they have full strength, then it might not kill them and they will be left with low health. Low health bosses = trouble b/c they start doing their specials, which will eat you alive usually. Wait til you do the M+ arc and there is a mission where the YF-21 will one shot you with full health if he does his special (which is what he does at lower health). I haven't tried this view, but you could always try the cockpit view instead. There may be an option to turn off the tracking too.

I'll have to give this a go later on tonight. Any way to switch the controls in this to be more GB like?

Yes if you have custom firmware. In fact, if you have CWCheat, one of the options is to assign a button as the "screenshot" button. If this game is like the Gundam games, you'll unlock those loading screen images in an options menu so you can view them at your leisure. Then, just use the screenshot tool to take pics (I wouldn't keep it assigned to any buttons after you're done though...)

So, have the prices on these partsformers been confirmed? I think the price will really determine their fate...

Apparently HLJ had these up for pre-order at some point, but it's "order stop" at the moment. http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYAS-002 I wonder if they'll come pre-painted or not? I'm also not entirely sure these are the figures mentioned earlier, but the price is about right and the inner upper leg is hollow like the ones mentioned before.

That's true. I'm just kinda lazy when it comes to doing stuff like that. I won't make any lame excuses for not having done that already. And about Xlink Kai....it's a great concept, but it has lots of problems when it comes to routers unless one of the newer versions has fixed that. For instance, my router (actually fairly common for it's age) is not supported (or at least wasn't 6 months ago, I haven't checked recently). That seems to be a major issue with the program.

I honestly wouldn't mind getting that from you if you upload it somewhere. P.S. - I actually own VFX, VFX-2, Macross Plus, Macross side scroller, and Macross M3 (for dreamcast), so I also have no issues with it.

I doubt it. Game releases RARELY sell out. They may run out of copies on day 1, but they'll be restocked by day 2. And usually if they run out, you can go to another store and they'll have it. That's the way the game industry works. Usually they make more copies than they plan to sell from my experience.

Anyone think the Directors/Writers will say one way or the other on this? I honestly think he's still alive. If you watch the scene at the end with CC, she actually looks (her eyes move upward) towards the cart driver when she says Lelouch. And the whole transfer of immortality thing seems plausible. There were a LOT of hints like the whole zero will live forever thing...

Exactly. It's really just a matter of time. Sony has to have some way to fix them and without doing a whole bunch of retooling, then chances are they just changed the location/way to get to the hole instead of plugging it up.

Likely, you will only be able to play through the timeline with the planes/mech in that particular timeline until you have beaten all the timelines. At that point, it will most likely open up the ability to play through any timeline/mission with any mech/plane. This is just based off what happens in the Gundam games made by that company.

Wow, didn't notice those. Very cool. I'd love to get the Chidori with the Fan, a Teletha (either one), and Chidori's friend with glasses, but I don't really recognize the others? And where's Mao!!! How could they put in those random characters and forget her??? But then again, paying $70+ to get mainly Chidori and Teletha is a no go for me. I'll just have to watch for someone to sell these individually. Luckily there are two Chidori's and Teletha's per set so that's a likely scenario. Mondai nai!!!

Wow, way too many parts to swap for the price they are asking. Seriously, with that much swapping why not just make three different damn things. On top of all that, I think it looks bad in all three modes. This series of toys could have been a great series, but this doesn't look like a "win" from my point of view...

Seriously, Homebrew apps rock! I got a memory card with tons of that kind of stuff. I still think the best homebrew app is the cheat code device since it tells you how much battery life you have left.

Actually, it's likely that the PSP 3000 has the new motherboard in it which is causing hackers a little bit of grief at the moment. However, it's only a matter of time before they crack it. Think of it like a psp 1000 when it was released, it takes time to learn how to manipulate things when they are brand new. There wasn't any modding stuff (from what I can remember) on day 1, and even then it took a long time to get good custom firmware. So just give it time and for now, pick up a psp 2000 b/c the screen really isn't bad (hell, I have a psp 1000 and I think the screen is just fine on the brightest setting). It's on of those things where it might be nicer to have a brighter screen, but you shouldn't need it and likely won't regret getting a psp 1000-2000 if you find one used (buying new might end up getting you a motherboard that currently can't be modded). Edit: Try Again as a vocal track...now I'm all giddy with glee! J/K, but it is one of my favorite songs from the Macross franchise. Add to that Information High and I'm all set for the game. No adding your own soundtrack to this one (it can be done with an advanced level of skill in modding and hacking of PSP's and PSP games from what I understand)

Wow (in a bad way). I'm sorry, but if that's all it comes with in terms of accessories, I think that little guy won't sell well if they still want $50 for them. It doesn't look horrible, but at the same time it doesn't look better than the model kit IMO. Definite pass for me and a horrible choice to start off the line...

Just to make people aware, it took 28 days for my second package to arrive as well from the time I got the shipping notice, so it looks like 4 weeks to get packages via SAL from HLJ now-a-days. Thanks for the responses.
