    Yes. That's a good point MD. I'm aware of it's ( the YF-30) original use as per what @Seto Kaiba wrote about it previously. I was just also looking at it as possibly being suitable for other or mixed roles. And , as you say, the YF-30 was built by SMS. Earth has the VF-24, of which there must surely be variations such as what we see in VFMF VF-25 & VF-31 , to name a few. Perhaps one of those variations are FDR birds..

    Though considered a demonstrator, the YF-30 could ,perhaps, be considered an elite surgical strike fighter. It , seemingly, has the performance specs. And it's container can be outfitted with the appropriate ordinance. And if it were to be outfitted with fast packs or have an Armored or Tornado option, the YF-30 could be quite formidable. I know we're used to many ordinance capacities on newer VF's , but if the YF-30 had a specific target or mission.. It took someone like Isamu to demonstrate the full potential of the YF-19. The previous (3?) test pilots were probably pretty talented as well..RIP.. The tame and stable VF-171 seems like the pendulum swinging in reaction to the YF-19.. It also seemed to turn out that the VF-22 became more of a mission specific fighter in even less production than the VF-19's, no? The VF-24 would be a great feature of another Macross game . I'm losing hope that we will see it in another series or OVA

    As far as (his favorite)... toy Valks go..During the Kawamori Expo. Adrian asked the man himself. The wall mounted with (just about) every Valkyrie ever made over the generations..Kawamori's favorite was the old Takatoku VF-1J. Also , there was a giant YF-29 Durandal at the Expo..

    Not feeling the reboot on this. I really enjoyed the reboot we already got. It was next level launch from the original series which I enjoyed as a kid. Unless the eventual previews blow my mind...

    Also hearing the fan club skit where Isamu is working for SMS as a cargo pilot (I didn't want to believe it, lol!) and meets Basara and Freya stowed aboard, was very cool. Audience sound effects and all Thanks guys. Fire!!

    Perhaps if Kawamori had his way, we would see more interesting and in depth side stories concerning the protoculture. As it is. The powers that be seem happy to drip feed clues and scant bits to keep some level of continuity within the Macross universe. But even in DYRL there was the song tablet found and there have been ruins found on other worlds. So yes there is archeology going on. Albeit cautiously as some ruins are massively booby trapped. Also NUNS and most emigrant fleets are not really tip toeing around the galaxy , concerning the Zentradi. While Earth forces and allies have evolved weaponry , ships and tactics, the Zentradi are still using the same everything, banged up and all, to combat foes. It's because of tactics like "5 million ships" that the Zentradi had been quite successful in their campaigns. As far as the 5million ships thing. I agree that to the Zentradi, that would have been a perfectly reasonable armada to combat an enemy. What we were introduced to way back in the 80's was the grand concept of scale on a galactic level. And here was the Earth and humans facing that open door to the galaxy with the Zentradi standing in the door way..

    Along the lines of "bad publicity is better than no publicity " , hg is probably very happy with MW forums. I'm sure KM would spin this into something positive for his pals. "See, even Macross fans who hate us cant stop talking about rt!"

    Considering all the conflicts (within and without) of humanity and it's allies since SDFM. Perhaps it's a similar arc to the Protoculture..

    With current fold booster technology. Single boosters can do a round trip? 5th gen VF's still require fold boosters? Fold quartz is used to enhance offensive and defensive capabilities ? As well as manipulate or produce fold waves? I know it's crazy valuable and the most advanced VF's have it well integrated into their airframe or other components..

    I don't think it's traced. Presumably the Inbit vaporized it's target while in flight or from a distance before standing over it..

    Thanks! I figured since the YF-19 & YF-21, Pin point barriers were becoming standardized. But the need for additional armor still seems to persist..
