  1. It takes balls to admit you are wrong especially on an internet board in front of thousands. If there is an upcoming bandai toy (let's say they make a better version of the vf-17 or seomthing similar to how yamato is revisting the vf-1) and then graham gives it a positive review, will people still think positive comments on yamato toys = those people being yamato shills though? Don't people realise that they (yamato) are getting the attention because they are the only ones actively making toys of macross for the past years? (and not because we have much alternative?) If we did say, get a 1/48 or 1/60 vf-17 (not a chunky munky but something for the adult) from bandai we'd probably be along heaping praise on them too. But until such time that they DO something for the niche market, we are going to feel neglected. (remember the toy drought?) And accusers, please don't mention aqaurion, that was a recent show! So of course they would ride on the recent exposure of the show with a new release toy, just like how we are seeing macross zero toys just as the ova is finished. That's not the same as say, going back to macross 7 and releasing a totally new VF-17 or Blazer Valkyrie just for fans who want a better toy and sick of the old one. I don't think that's a valid comparison to be honest. Because Yamato have gone back to the old toys and made better ones, which shows they are making the most out of the license for those who still want newer toys of things from older shows. (which may be important for the fan during those times when there is no new toys to look forward to which can coincide with the release of a new show)
  2. But the cola kid who peed his pants and the vending machine trying to sell to him are so recognisable. I think it would be good if he had a son who was a cannon fodder pilot and that son died like kakizaki, so his motivation to train people comes from the past where he experiences the pain of the cannon fodders who are crap pilots. Then we get like a flashback episode of how his son went on a dangerous mission in a vf-11 fighting rogue zentradi which got him killed because he was recklessly showing off and trying to do fancy flying techniques that he wasn't ready for. The toy sales of the cannon fodder valks would go up for sympathy reasons because now they would have a sad backstory to them. (this would appeal to the 'realistic pilot' mecha-watcher who is turned off by all these child pilots in tv series with newtype-like abilities which doesn't show the danger of war. People would relate to the character better since he is only average in skills, forced to continue fighting under those limits.)
  3. Maybe we'll see an upgrade to the VF-22? (similar to how you see a melding of the yf-19 and vf-1 in the vf-25?) A qrau that can project a holographic image while it is cloaked to distract the enemy and then strike from behind at close range while the bug is confused. "pinpoint barrier kick to the nuts!" 1. Get in close with optic camouflage. (like the dark legioss were able to against the inbit in mospeada?) 2. Pinpoint barrier punch a hole in the bug, releasing a reaction bomb from an opening in the palm to blow the bug from the inside out. Mini-deadalus attack! 3. Fold out of there before it explodes, or use a full barrier to protect against the blast. The mine or bomb may have remote detonation trigger or timed. Maybe close combat will come back! (like the moves max and milia pulled off in DYRL with point blank shots to the face) The new valks being like the knight sabers from Bubblegum crisis. Gunpods are useless since the bullets take ages to penetrate the armor unless you get to close range for them to do heavy damage. Long drawn out fights will be the order of the day, where the splash damage weapons of the aliens would be slow and useless. Only the most sophisticated cutting instruments converted to weapons will be needed. When bugs break in to a ship, they will poked with bayonets, and shot at from pointblank range after the blades cut the hole needed to shoot bullet into. (no reaction bomb usage inside ships which is too dangerous)
  4. Maybe the zentradi females have had their legs amputated and the nerves are connected to the controls for the robot legs? Sort of like the brain in a jar guy in DYRL? The brainwave control system may have been too dangerous but nobody said anything about wired to body control system. The only other explanation: zentradi pilots have decided to have tentacles for limbs again. The sex is more enjoyable.
  5. Not a genuine issue thankfully. And I thought he was about to expose us all as yamato shills for a second. Good thing the cover hasn't been blown after all... Phew! *waits for well-earned cheque in the mail from yamato and graham* Hopefully when bandai releases the vf-25 and I praise it I will be able to earn twice as much.
  6. Yeah but what if you don't like that either? (and some already have them, others wanted to get the aoshima ones but they are worse ) Come on CMs, please give us a cheaper price already. Eventually other companies will release their own down the line. May as well cut your losses is the way I see it.
  7. Are you going to get a cannon fodder?
  8. They aren't really robots though are they? Since they don't control themselves. They are mechanical tools which the pilots manually control. Just like a tank or a car. The real robots are the cleaners in DYRL and vending machine you see in SDF:M. Eventually these will kill the humans and become the pilots of the future valkyries. Singing won't affect them since they have no emotions. Ghosts/demons/protodevlin can't possess them since they aren't alive. And drones won't attack them because that would be like killing your own mother.
  9. Funtack/blutack seems the best idea. I use that for my banprestos.
  10. Ah thanks didn't see that.
  11. Bandai don't care as much about macross compared to gundam though. Otherwise we'd have seen Perfect grade Valkyries. Admittedly the toys are expensive for what you get: but so is an overpriced wii, and red ring of death xbox360. I say give them once more chance.
  12. The one Archilles heel of the 19 is the lack of the locking torso. Ah almost perfect!
  13. I will eventually get some. He said he "liked it" but "didn't love it". Just don't know when I will get them. I am about to buy a SV-51.
  14. What if the MH one gets a poor review though? Will you wait for the toynami?
  15. I'm just glad we got something from mospeada. Save robotech sell them cheaply to us.
  16. I'll get them after you guys review them. Does the figure grip the gun very well? Looks like the hands would easily drop it?
  17. Have you seen the latest revoltech starscream and revoltech hot rodimus? The revoltech SS just has so much energy and looks like its from a comic book than the master piece one imo. No compromise for other modes is my guess as to why you would buy a non-transforming toy of a transforming robot. But yeah it doesn't necessarily look like these are better in posing then revoltechs. Maybe they just saw the money made from superposable figures and wanted to jump in on that market? (ie "it sells so let's make it") One of the reasons I don't buy models over toys is that loss of transformation and I have no patience. Maybe you can think of these as completed models for the lazy.
  18. Minmay should reappear. But as a macronised human floating in a ship asleep for 50 years like ripley from aliens. Of course it was just the protoculture who had cloned her as a joke to the humans. They experimented on the real one, and need the clone to act as a spy for them on the human race. When the clone minmay wakes up, she has no memory of what happened. She is the real life 'minmay doll'. Sent to assasinate key people within the UNG who threaten the peaceful life of the surviving thought-to-be-extinct-but-hiding protoculture. Humans failed the test so they must be wiped out is the message of the survivors of the PC. Ranka and minmay clone must fight by seeing whose songs are more popular.
  19. Then go buy them for me will you? If you want me to have them. Why don't they do the girl with the black armor? (that sounded wrong)
  20. Even though these look cheap next to the megahouse: there is something about the proportions of the rider to the bike that I like. It looks good in both modes. Beagle will probably beat both of them.
  21. Just buy the cannon fodder and paint it black. lol only kidding.
  22. I think given the cheapness of these: would it be possible yamato does the "risky" valks like the vf-4 and stuff that are supposed to be unpopular/not well known? Wouldn't mind seeing some of the other valkyries like the VF-22, VF-11c with the armour on it, or some zentradi powered armour. Destroids! Given the cheapness maybe now you can finally get a row of them standing together.
  23. I hated that they weren't perfect transforming too. You had to remove them (except for the one in front). But for their time they were pretty decent if a little chunky in battroid mode. I will hold off on this toy until reviews and after the wallet heals from buying a SV-51. Take your time yamato! No mistakes!
  24. Yep. The minute I laid eyes on the low visibility (my first yammie valk) I couldn't wait to touch it. I know this may sound a little strange but I DID feel like a little kid who got a christmas or birthday present! When the 1/60 line comes with a vf-1D training valk with that hikaru pilot in his civilian flightsuit I am going to be a little kid again.
  25. Looks ok to me. The VF-11 in battroid mode is one mech that actually needs a bit of meat on its body imo. It looks like the shield has the ability to swivel around. (see pic of it firing gunpod with both hands) Didn't know the vf-11 could do that. there goes the chance to see a Qrau revoltech in dynamic poses.
