  1. If I remember correctly, the round bases tend to be a little less stable... esp if you get one with longer arms and use it for a 1/48.... I'd probably get a square 4 or square 6 for your 1/48 but some other MW'ers might know better. I'm currently using mine for some 1/60s.
  2. Stupid question... how do you search for closed items on eBay? I usually have to 'watch' items to figure out their market value (after closing).... edit - it looks like you simply select 'completed' when searching... You learn something new every day!

You know, I promised myself the other day that I would stay away from the crack. I need to remind myself to read someone's full post, comprehend it, put the crack pipe down, and respond like a normal individual.

I dunno if you were referring to something else, but the TOMY Monster is only ~ 4.25 inches long
  6. I believe Valkyrie Exchange has a version or two.

Here they are. Sorry about the poor quality as I just threw these together. In the first one, there's a Toynami MPC, and two of those plastic minatures...Gashapon (officer's battlepod and Miryia) for comparison. In image 2 we've got my 1/48 in the background and my 1/60 to the right for size comparisons... If you want the full sized images go here and here.

From barrel to barrel it's about 4 1/4 inches. From ground to the top of the snout (not including the cannons) it's about 2 1/2 inches. I'll try and get some pics up in a bit.

JK ^ I think he's referring to a set of TOMY diorama Star Wars statues.... I too have them and they look better (I like them then the plastic ones... that are out there that JK referred to). If you take a look on eBay for them, you'll see some detailed pictures.
  10. Truthfully, I think buying toys in the hopes that the resale value goes up is ridiculous. You'll always end up chasing something, or buying everything, and feeling burned. Big waste of time, IMHO. Sure. I'm not looking at collecting Macross and Robotech toys as an investment... simply that if for whatever reason I would ever need to sell them, they'll at least retain most of their value. This is a big plus as these guys can run a pretty price. I am selling a handful of MPC Robotech toys at a slight profit to supplement my Macross collection.
  11. some people find the resale price of the toys they collect important, and thats the point. Exactly... how else can some of us justify this hobby to their wives?
  12. As an owner of both I say they're both strong toys. The Yamato's have great detail but are a pain to setup and deal with (legs, FPs, canons)... The MPC's have the nice box, the collectible factor (holding their value) and have decent detail but when in battroid mode, they look anorexic. That being said, I'm using my MPC collection to finance my Yamato purchases (the Roys and Hunters are pretty much sold-out online).
  13. ^^ I think it was around $93 or something when using an online currency converter.
  14. (sorry if slightly off topic) but what are those Star Wars fighters 'called'... I mean I know that they are TIEs an Xwings but what brand made those? Basically, if I wanted to find them, what would they be called?

ITS CRAP DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY YOU CANT TRANSFORM IT PROPERLY THE ARMOUR BREAKS AND FLIES OFF I HURTR MY CAT Who cares if this actually happend (except for the cat). For whatever reason, I find this quote hilarious!
  16. Not too bad, I like them better than the Gashapon set which I found to be a complete pain in the rear to assemble.
  17. Not exactly an auction, but this individual has been trying to sell these dolls for over a month.
  18. wow i was just over at the auction section and i saw some posts of MPC's running well over 130 bucks (for vol1 and vol 3 Well the vol 1s and 3s are sold out (online) so the only ways to get them are in B&M stores or via eBay. I do agree that some people don't know any better (that some of the Yamato's are better) but I think a lot has to do with completing the collection. And there are only a few people who have them on eBay (I do have a handful being auctioned at various times)... since there are only a few people who are offering them, then the demand also goes up. One guy buys from me then turns around and puts them right back online +$30... I suppose I could try to do that too but it doesn't look like he gets as many buyers as I do.
  19. Anybody need MPC Bookmarks see here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5900396912&rd=1 I went ouch when I saw the price. I sold some MPC Vol3s to this guy and as soon as he received them, he threw them up online for ~ $140 or so... he asks high prices and I imagine every once in a while he does get someone to bite.
  20. wtf? are these now sold out everywhere too or what? Fokker MPC Yeah they are sold out. What's even more silly about this was that I listed the auction with a BIN for only $110...
