After having a lemon 0A and being completely torn over the gorgeous finish and complete lack of durability, the only VF-0 I'd consider buying anymore is an improved 0S... and eventually I will get one, as the mold is amazing.

Seems unlikely Michael's unit won't come with the Sniper Rifle... they likely didn't have it done for the photo shoot.

But it's not quite the same... aside from Gurren Lagaan whom transformed all the time into things, noone else had to transform to deliver a super badass attack... Mazinkaiser didn't turn into a giant sword, he just had the obscene power output to curbstomp any badguys that dared show up. Some robots DO transform as part of their attacks or whatnot (Getta Robos fit in here, having different modes for situations), but Mazinger never did, so it seems like a shoehorned in change that I don't really see the benefits of. The Maz family never NEEDED to change to rock some badguys... that wasn't their shtick.

See, that's still where I don't see it... if the enemy gets tougher, Koji's just gonna have to put on his man pants and fight harder, faster, smarter. Maybe upgrade the Breast Fire output and the Rocket Punch thrust... nowhere does the logic (or even Super Robot Logic) move to turning your robot into a giant missile. Even when someone like Mazinger is beating the snot out of someone with his fists (instead of guns or any other weapons like later robots) he fights smart, not stupid.

I dug Crossover Iron Man, and am waiting for the combiner with Spidey so I can enjoy another IM fig and leave Spiderman in the box!

I think it's just too silly and outlandish even for Mazinger... Mazinger Z and Great Maz and Mazinkaiser could always kick the sh!t out of whatever Dr. Hell threw at them without needing to transform, and I think the bigger problem is just that's it's too goofy looking. People have been speculating that Boss power-up transforms into Grozier there, but at least that looks like something else, and isn't just a giant hand. RID Megatron's giant hand mode from Transformers was stupid too, because really what purpose does a giant hand really serve?

Yeah, I dunno why Mazinger needs to transform, but the general feel of the preview vid is slick, and as long as there's not too many weird changes this should be a fun romp.

I just actually noticed the cane thing, and I am just engorged with nerd rage at this point... that's the stupidest thing I've ever seen! How can anyone stand behind this bastardization of everything us transfans loved?

I'm going avoid most of the moderating bombshells in this thread, (and the fact that I have NO idea how this thread stayed open for more than an hour), as I usually stay out of the shenanigans, but yeah, it definitely needs to be said more than I think most all of the community here is impossibly grateful for the continuing existence of this place. I've been here for a long time, but not forever, and even tho I hang out plenty of other places, I still consider MW my number 1 haunt.

Tamiya transparent paints are great too, but Vallejo's a better all around line to get behind IMO.

It's been discussed that there will be a giftset of Devestator that separates into bot-modeless construction vehicles, and the transforming construction vehicle to bot mode non combining Constructicons will be sold separately. The fan outrage has been pretty massive.

So I got Poseidon, Great Maz, and Garada last night, and these toys are phenomenal... Maz and Garada could really use a touch more ankle motion to stand stably IMO in some poses, but are otherwise amazing... Garada's simple and clean with a menacing look, and Great Mazinger has so much to do! My favorite is hands down Getter Poseidon tho, which is funny as he was a last minute decision after I was initially looking Great Maz first, but Poseidon is just so simple and fun, with amazing articulation and balance for having circular feet. I just wish his launchers could swivel up onto his shoulders like on the Popy toy, but that's minor. I have one question tho... have people noticed any loosening up of the joint that holds the lower legs or tank treads in place? I'm just worried alot of swapping could loosen the clip in there, altho I haven't really looked up in there to see how the clip works. I can't leave this figure alone, and I just want to make sure it'll hold up OK.

Well, if you're not filling whatever the seam is, you could just slit the white decal along the seam so it sits on the two parts alright as well.

I dunno... I'm not planning on getting the other two in the immediate future, but I will definitely own them eventually. I haven't even really begun to think about making these decals yet... it'll probably happen over the summer, and I don't know if they'll be the kind of quality I'd want to sell. They'll likely be a two-sheet affair with one set of clear backing decals and one set of white backing decals for stuff that needs to be opaque or not as I don't have any special printing equipment or anything.

Are you talking a sticker decal of the waterslide decal? There's no shame in using a few strategic slits to get a waterslide decal to conform to an awkward surface... it's often how decals made my a smart person are designed to be used.

I just made a hi-res scan of the normal figure's sticker sheet, and in my free time I'm going to make a workable sheet to print as waterslide decals from it. I wouldn't recommend just taking the sheet and scanning it to directly print on decal paper, as Yamato's sticker printings are still not the sharpest...

I'm gettin my first Super Robot SOC's tomorrow night (all I have right now is Eva 00') .... I'm getting GX-02 Great Maz, Garada K7, and Getter Poseidon... and I snagged 31V for 10k Yen on YHJ How much am I going to love them all?
