  1. we didnt steal them, they were liscencsed and discontinued when it ran out. they kicked ass and still do, which is why they are so hot.
  2. the yellow Transformer in teh Takara booth wasnt Dead End, it was Tracks!!!!! Some more Yamato coverage woulda been nice, but the shots they gave us were HOT!!. That Scopedog looked sweet too, talk about digging up old properties
  3. Yeah yeah.... I meant 1/60. Almost the entire leg is Die Cast except the Intake piece. So, anyone got any tips?
  4. I agree. The Strike variant's Beam cannons are the shiznit. My little itty bitty banpresto Fokker has it. looks sweet as hell. So does your fig there for that matter. I will certainly look into some of the cooler ones.
  5. Well, I was inspecting my brand new 1/48 Max Jenius VF-1A,a s many of you have been discussing in my other topic (or arguing with each other, there's a bit of both, lol) when I noitced a pair of paint chips on the die cast, porlly from shipping or something. One is a tiny chip on the tip of the blue half of one of the leg fins, but the other is a large chip on one of the segments of the knee flanging (behind the armor) I do indeed pln to fix it, and was wondering what to use. The blue bit isnt really a concern, but the black is. I hate die cast, adn this is why. Would a black sharpie work for the black? Or just hit it with a bit of black paint and matte finish (I use krylon for all my miniatures). If there is already a thread about this, could someone please show me where? Thanks
  6. cripes you guys bicker at each other alot, lol I will look for that edition of DYRL. Content is not an issue for me If i do get a 1/48, i will make sure it is a Fastpack,a nd will proobably look into an after market set of better stickers. can anyone tell me wich is the best set and where to get them? Or is there already a thread for that? I did infact go to the Macross info site at anime something or other last nite like the newbie questionaire says to, adn i read the timeline of Macross. I THINK I understand it better now....not well, but better. One thing I noticed is that Max and Myria had like a dozen kids!! I also noticed that there are like a zillion diff things i have to get to see all of Macross. And on the mother thing, I did already say that convincing her to buy me stuff was the critical issue, only being 15 and all. lol, its amazing how quickly dumb stuff can turn into a dumb argument
  7. There's no translated version? Only subtitles? that SUCKS. grrrrr. Spacey, is the Perfect Edition the Hong Kong one the other guy mentioned? Hopefully I will be able to find it in america....dealing thru Hong Kong is such a pain. And whats a GPB kit? I like model kits.... I just thought of something....I have to get YET ANOTHER different figure to get fast packs and Super or Strike modes armor. such a pain.
  8. Thanks. I will keep that in mind for my next purchase. the stickers were a pain. But how do you expect me to get a 1/48. they are SOOOOOOO fricken expensive. can only convince my mom to buy me so much in a month. I really want the Hikaru with armor set, but its a hundred bucks, and multi scale toy lines piss me off. Ive already got like 3 diff sizes...the Banpresto, the Toynami, and the Yamato. well, maybe i can beg and plead alot to get the armor and Hikaru set 'cuz its a better deal than getting them seperatly' hehehe. As to the DVDs, I will chek it out. I am still confused tho as to content, as I started out with Robotech, which has me screwed up and I asked a couple questions in the newbie section that wernet answered very well. DYRL is a movie right? If so, why isnt there a DYRL: the movie DVD????? There's all Macross Plus and Macross 1-7 and this and that. I've have also found one other point on the Yamato that dissapoints me (hard to find one but I did). The shoulders. They cant be posde too far foreward without pushing the front plate out of place. Its like the shoulders shuld extend out on their joints a bit more to get better clearance. other than that it rocks
  9. I just got my first 1/60 Yamato, the DYRL Max Jenius, and am stunned. This thing freakin rocks. I now see why you guys all bash the Toynami MPCs. The Yamato is soooooooooo much better and cooler and posable and awesome and fricken rockin and sweet. My only real complaint is all those stupid NO STEP stickers.... My only other thing is that I noticed that stickers dont stick as well to the plastic parts as they do the the die cast. Did anyone do anything about this? just curious. Makes me want DYRL sooooooo bad . lol, I still cant figure out which DVD I need to buy to get DYRL. The descritpitons of the DVDs at amazon.com are very unhelpful.
  10. that bird is absolutely amazing. the weathering and details are more than dead on, there absolutely fantasic! i cant get over how good the decals look with the panel lines etched into them.... its sooo real
  11. yowsers!!! that is awesome. i was wondering on the material as well, and how the comp/douter setup works. whats a bridgeport? keep up the good work
  12. has anyone else noticed this, or am i comletely dillusional?
  13. Hi, I just got the Roy Fokker colored Strike armor Banpresto perfect transformation fig. I had a norma super valk one before this, and wasnt pleased with it until i did some serious modding it needed, including the clear nail polish on the ball joints. I also needed to mod the forearm armor because they just sat on there and did not stay properly, so i drilled two pin pegs into each. Upon opening the strike super one, i was astounded! The first thing i noticed is that the ball joints didnt flop around quite as much. Needless to say they will still need the nail polish, but they were better than the other one. I also noted that there are now pegs and holes for the forearm armor! exactly what it needed, a small peg with a discreet hole opn the underside of the arm. This is what i like to see, actual imporvements to a toy line as it progresses. Ben
  14. as far as i can tell, to line them up, it just takes a good eye or soemkinda mark. as to what to use for pins, normal sewing pins, larger model airplane pins, paperclips, piano wire (a bit tough)
  15. hm .....its a bit of a stretch, but you could try to find some of the 1/200 scale kits to foola round with..they are easy to find. also, i noticed some of the arii kits are cheap, and i picked one up. very simple, with semi decent detail. just a thought

    Possible?

well...i assume MPC is Master Piece Collection? with the light up heads? i just got the Ben Dixon one and it is my first real valk and like it. not my fault there are some grouchy ass robotech haters. you idea sounds neat....even tho the eyepiece didnt actually light up, i think it looks neat. you could try for a compact battery setup in the fusalage in the cockpit or nose like the masterpieces. i was thinking about the wings too, and the shoulder lamps...... what if you very carefully filed out a trench for the wires, and and ran them throught the whole [piece, with the wires in the body? you could use uber small LEDs or model railroad grain of whet bulbs...which are about eh size of a rice grain...you would have to wing it a bit on the light size tho. its a cool idea, adn a shame that when youi asked for help, you got burned by a bunch of primadonnas with a bug up there asses
  17. oh....i was working off of the comics and the novel. in the comics, the pocs are about he same size, and so are the zentraedi....all of them. Breetai is not huge like he should be
  18. alright....i have yet another question. the Zentraedi are supposed to be as big as veritechs...like 50 feet tall. if so, how come the battlepods are all shown abiout the size of Veritechs.....the would have to be like twice the size to house a zentraedi adn have anything else.... also, i have one toehr thing....i speeled my screen name wrong when i made my account, can i fix this wo/ making a new one?
  19. thanks for the response. the only thing is, the macross/robotech FAQ site aint workin for me, so im still in the dark tehre.....but i am definetaly doing to joint tightening tricks to my banpresto valk.....so its worth foolin around with
  20. Hi all, I'm new to Robotech and liking what I am seeing. I am a Battletech dweeb tho, so am not unfamiliar to giant robot stuff I know Culverin from LotB too, so Im not some random stranger Right now I am reading the original comic adaptations of the Robotech stuff, as well as the novels, and plan on getting the DVD of the series nad movie I have a couple more toy related questions: WHY are most of them so fircken hard ot find!? why arent there soem decently done all plastic chaper versions of the big transformables? I got one of the Banpresto onex and it blows....all the joinst are loose and I had to modify the amr Suoer Valk armor to make it fit or stay on. Theres that one comic con exclusive Suoper posable VF-1D non transforming Battroid fig, but why arent there more!> I want all the Valks in suoer posable figs. I am big on the model kits too.....especially the 1/200 scale ones by BIG WEST? I have links to some I did over on lordsofthebattlefield.com, but most of those are in Battletech colors except for this one: http://www.lordsofthebattlefield.com/galle...album=81&pos=38
