  1. 7th Gen fighter concept? Another F-15 video.
  2. I'd like to see more of the original alien enemies make their appearance, like the Snakemen.
  3. FF8 storywise I thought was interesting up until Disc 3 where the whole plot seems to misstep and fall on its face. I didn't care for the junction system nor how magic is treated as a commodity. That said, it's still one of the most memorable games for me. Maybe it was because I was coming off the FF7 high and wanting more. Being in high school at the time also helped me want to relate to the characters more. The music once again was well done and I was just blown away by the CG scene's, especially the battle scene between Balamb and Galbadia Garden.
  4. FF7 was the first Final Fantasy I played the whole way through and beat way back in 1998. It wasn't first experience with the franchise. That honor went to FF6 which I played at my cousins and liked what I experienced. Having played most of the series, I have to echo some of Duke's thoughts. VII wasn't the best game in the series but it was incredibly influential. I've played it numerous times and still enjoy it. While Tetsuya Nomura was on the team, he wasn't at the helm of the game. When Nomura took over after Sakaguchi left, he took the franchise more in the direction of his Kingdom Hearts series and tried to appeal it more towards anime fans (FF7: Advent Children, Crisis Core). I agree that VII doesn't warrant the hype. I've met people who rave about it but only were exposed to it through Advent Children. (Mostly younger fans) It's still a game that I think any RPG fan or gamer in general should atleast play, or try to play. Same with Chrono Trigger, Metal Gear Solid and Xenogears. FF7s soundtrack is still one of favorites.
  5. The last civ game I played a great deal of was Civ III back in the day. Enjoyed that game so much. I never gave 4 or 5 a try though.
  6. I was hoping they'd improve the damage for some weapons like the heavy machine gun mounted on vehicles. It felt severely underpowered in BF3 where I'm needing 3-4 shots to take someone down.
  7. I'd have liked to have seen work on a true long-range missile. (I recall reading about something called LRAAM awhile back.) I'm sure the AMRAAM-D will be suitable for helping the Raptor meet its true potential. I wonder how it stacks up to the Meteor though.
  8. I've delved into both PC and console and devoted more attention to either or depending on the generation. I was a bigger PC gamer in the 90s then I am now but that's going to change again with the next gen consoles not really appealing to me. Looking already at building my first PC.
  9. Tried looking that up but there isn't much on it. It looks basically like any Phoenix but I'm wondering what's been changed from the AIM-54A missiles that Iran possessed.
  10. Not crazy about spending 2k to game on a 14-inch screen. Anyone trying the Battlefield 4 beta yet? Checked this morning but it wasn't up on PSN yet.
  11. Hmm. Remove the canards. Fit it with AESA like the Golden Eagle and replace the F-100s or GE engines with P&W F-119s.
  12. The A-10 and F-15C have both been service for well over 30 years now so it's not surprising. The question is how will there numbers be replaced, especially the F-15 with the F-22 inventory capped at 187 for the near future. The A-10 is outstanding in low risk CAS missions but I'd be worried we'd be losing a fair number of these against an opponent equipped with better air defenses like the Tunguska and Igla-S, and even intermediate tech defenses such as the SA-11.
  13. I would have liked to have seen a more practical approach to Quiet's design aswell similar to what they pulled off with Sniper Wolf. Can see Quiet operating in arctic conditions in her outfit.
  14. Hard to believe it's the 15th anniversary of MGS. It was whole reason I asked my parents for a Playstation for Christmas. I got Final Fantasy 7 as my first game (which turned out to be a big win aswell.) The fight with Sniper Wolf in the snowfield is still one of the most memorable boss scene's in the series for me and one of the saddest aswell.
  15. Joining the swing-wing party alittle late. Rare shot of East German Floggers. And another classic. Finally, interesting news from China on their concept bomber. The East seems to appreciate the YF-23 design enough.
  16. There must have been a mandate since the Su-27 that all new Russian aircraft must be able to pull off the Pugachev's Cobra.
  17. Honestly, the last console I was truly excited for prelaunch was the PS2. Got the PS3 due to MGS4 and due to most of my gaming buddies going to it. I'm holding off on a PS4 for a long time. Probably going to use that time to build a PC.
  18. Very recently, the German Air Force retired its fleet of F-4 Phantom IIs. There was a big article about it in Combat Aircraft Monthly. Farewell you wonderful beast.
  19. The Draken and Viggen had character but I don't see that with the Gripen or as much. Maybe it's just because of Europe's love affair with delta wing fighters but I don't see much personality in any of the 3 powerhouse fighters with maybe the exception of the Rafale.
  20. Still, good times ahead for space sim fans, particularly with Star Citizen.
  21. lol, Great patch emblem. Living under any flightline, there are going to be risks. I don't think the general attitude there would be much different if it were CH-46 and 53s flying around.
  22. Basically this but for me, it'll be the Viper. Agreeing with Dave on the packaging of aircraft like the Super Hornet and YF-23.
