    I call it completionist Nostalgia. I grew up watching Robotech every day coming home from school, and in magazines I would see other anime that I had no chance of watching at the time because it wasn't shown on TV. In my area we had Mazinger, Robotech, and Voltron. Of course I watched G I Joe and Transformers after school too, when I was even younger. My Brother and I got the early 80's formers toys up until 87 or 88. When I started reading comics and seeing Newtype magazines I would see ads for Harlock, Gundam, and Victory but there wasn't really a way to see them back then. No internet, and finding shops that imported stuff like that was hard. Basically it was a once a year comic convention in a larger city, and that was your only chance and it was expensive as hell for a kid. Anyway, now that I'm older and everything is at my fingertips I can catch up on Layzner, Votoms, and Victory. Completionist Nostalgia. Putting together the parts of my childhood that I didn't have access too, or the money to afford. I doubt that's a thing now, as smart kids can download anything in a second. Anyway, I like the 87 Movie as a kid. But it not being into Cup, Blur, and Hot Rod that much is just a matter of taste. You can't deny that they didn't overhaul and change the entire feel of the 80's cartoon with the movie. The 90's were coming, and I just see Victory as sticking with the blocky robots that looked awesome. It was more Japanese influenced but that's what's so cool about it.

    Probably not til later this year I would imagine. I doubt the transformation is completely worked out. That looks like darker material than the finished work-ups, might just be a sculpted version of robot mode without a transformation. Looks like he's taller than UM

    Haha, I had him as a kid. Full disclosure, I had Hot Rod as a kid and loved playing with him, so the marketing scheme worked I'd probably buy a renewal if it was just Hot Rod and not Rodimus. I can say this though.. . Wreckgar was awesome, and he was an original design for the movie.

    It's from a totally different show that was Japanese based. I don't even really see them as connected other than in spirit. So yes, MP spacebrick motherfrakker. It just has such a cool mystique and 80's feel that it's pure excitement. Victory was a nice return to form at the close of the 80's. Robots fighting robots for earth. Over here we were going crazy with pretenders and beastmasters. The American writers and such just lost the plot. What the hell is blur anyway?

    It's true though. Especially if you were a kid at the time. You had all these 80's cars and planes in the show, and then the Movie came out, killed everybody off and gave us these whacky space cars. It was an attempt to appeal to another generation or reinvent the line, but it was still a betrayal and the start of the end.

    I thought the Tak one was the crappy one? I had the TRU one for awhile but never opened it. Sold it awhile back. Star saber reveal soon!

    Is that the Takara one or the TRU one? Magnus looks a little better, but it's odd that they have to put him in a neutral pose to make him look good haha.

    Ah. It's a very Super Robot feature to have... I always thought of Macross as more a real robot kind of genre. Anyway, don't want to derail.

    So I found an MP-03. I was dickin' around after work and ran over just to see if I could spot one. I had to pick up some shizzy at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I thought what the hells. Somebody had hide it behind one of those super cheap giant supermen they sell for Man of Steel. Guess nobody had straightened that isle up all week. Slow selling? Caught the red out of the corner of my eye. Haha. Downloaded the coupon and got him for $68 for trade fodder.

    Decent pic of silverstreak. The paint differences are a lot more pronounced. It's not bad looking in car mode.

    I want the BAPE but I haven't see much info on it. UM looks really floppy, hard to pose, and frustrating for a MP. I'm all about robot mode and he's not scratching my itch. Think I'll cancel mine and put that money toward a utopia. haha.

    I'm with you Eriku... never was a big UM fan. I thought he was a bit of a douche bag in the show/movie too haha. Just trying to decide if its worth keeping at the cheap HLJ price, or putting that money into something else like Utopia haha
