I'm generally speaking for myself, and the fact that other members really can't afford a toy of that scale. Even IF I tried, I wouldn't be able to get one. I'm already having a hard time keeping up with my 1/48 collection, as well as my Chogokin and Ghost In Shell figure collection. What would be more feasible for me at least, and I am sure, some will agree, is that Yamato do the Macross Plus Valkyries in 1/60 scale. That would the just the right size, and it will be big enough (it should be about the size of the current 1/48 VF-1's) to accomodate the detail, gimmicks, and [possibly] the perfect transformation we area looking for. Anyways, that's my piece of the pie

Jeebus Cripes! As much as a 1/48 scale YF-19, 21 and VF-11B sounds intoxicatingly appealing to me, I don't want Yamato to release one. Two major aspects of this is the cost and sheer size. Sure, it'll be big, badass, highly detailed, and will compliment the 1/48 VF-1's very well, but it's going to cost more than my left nut and @$$ cheek to get one, and unfortunately, other members also have this problem. Some can't even afford to buy multiple 1/60's, how much more a valkyrie that can very well cost 3X or even 4X a 1/60. Again, I am reminded by that pic that Graham posted, the Club M 1/48 YF-21 chest plate piece next to the Yamato 1/72 scale YF-21. The Club M chestplate piece is bigger/wider than Graham's palm. Imagine how huge that b*tch would be?

awww....too bad most of us are still based here in PI. But it's good to know there are Flip brothers out there still into Macross after all this time! -
Ninja Scroll 10th Anniversary Special Edition DVD
Omni Existence replied to Angel's Fury's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hey there Fury! Yep you got that right! I"m one of the PI folks here! MABUHAY! But wait! There's more of us here! There's Batpinoy, Jaybats, Bub, Otaru Ikari, JPSkull1, Ranma, Amuro Ray, Valkyreus, and a few others. Most of us are still based here in PI, and usually get together every Toycon. -
As far as available insider information goes (namely Graham's), the 1/60 VF line ends with the Elint and Super O. Like JsArclight mentioned, it's time for some enemy mechs to make their debut! C'mon Queadluun Rau!!!!

put on costumes, salute, hold rifle, march to the lift.... ...still no digicam.... Dang! Anywhoo, congrats on the purchase man! You are one lucky SOB to get those babies early in the game!
-
TOonz! You go march right out that door mister, and get yourself a DIGICAM! Save us all the suffering dammit!
-
Ooooh! Very nice Bob! It just gets better and better! Toes do look a tad too long though.

What he said! It's all downhill from here

IIRC, Graham mentioned that the 1/48 line was sort of a "testing the waters" bit for Yamato. The future lines for 1/48 will depend on the sales of the first releases, and from the looks of things, the 1/48's are selling very well. My supplier here is already on his 3rd re-order of Low Vis Yammies, and they are highly in demand here in PI. And from what I've read, it's doing very well on other countries. That should be a good indication that we'll be seeing more variants than what Yamato has initially revealed. All we need is patience
-
Very good! The background is very well done. One thing though, the hips look wierd. To be more specific, it looks a tad disproportional from her head. Also her left arm looks a bit awkward. Overall, nice work as always!
-
I'm also trying to find info on this line. Last I heard about it, was from one of Noel's wonderfest reports (correct me if I am wrong), and the RX-78 and gelgood looked very good. I recall a friend of mine emailing Bandai about this line, but so far, no reply. I hope they push through with this though, the AE's are much much better than their MSiA counterparts!

A 1/48 Macross PLus valk from Yamato is NOT impossible, I have to agree with that, however, and IMO only, I think it's rather impractical. For one, the size would be figgin huge! Remember the pic Graham posted? The one with the Club M (??) YF-21 chestplate, placed next to the 1/72 from Yamato? That chestplate piece was already as bigger than Graham's palm! I don't even want to imagine what the price of that thing would be. If ever Yamato will release resculpted and redefined Macross Plus Valkyries, the 1/60 is the most practical for me. It's going to be big enough to incorporate major details and engineering that was impossible on a smaller scale.

Too long if you ask me. Too long that some people started to look like this

Ghost In The Shell SAC Episode Guide
Omni Existence replied to Myriad's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I am loving every bit of GITS: SAC. I am only up to episode 12, but it's been fun! I cannot wait for the new GITS movie. Hopefully it's better than the first one. -
Hey, Yamato pulled of a Hikaru right smack in the middle of the Low Vis release and the release of the 1/48 VF-1J pics. I may seem too optimistic, but, with that, what's stopping them from throwing in a Max 1/48 sometime after the Hikaru release, and before the 1J release. We've seen this happen before (e.g. non-limited 1/60 CF, TV versions with FP's, Elint and Super O). All we have to do is wait, and have lots of patience.
-
Well, technically the legs do come off and reattach. Yamato merely omitted the transfer system. Yep, and I believe G already explained that issue waaaaay back on the old boards, and right smack in the middle of the "removable leg vs swingbar" debates.
-
I purposely skipped on the FP versions for the 11B and 21, but plan to get them at a [very] later date. However, if Yamato [ever] decides to release the 21 and 11B, resculpted, detailed and refined, in 1/60 scale, I'm sold.
-
What he said! The 1/48 VF-1 is crazy already. A 1/48 Macross Plus Valkyrie (19, 21 and 11B) would be a much too much. The possible price on that thing (if ever it will be produced) won't be anything near affordable. Gobotfool has the best scale in mind. 1/60 would be perfect, AND, you can display them side by side with the 1/60 VF-1's.

Yeah, you constantly remind us!
-
Baiting you? Puh-lease, don't hurt yourself trying to pat yourself on the back too much. <_< Let me ask this. Do you blame the car company if they put large stainless rollbars/bumpers on their trucks, and one of their trucks just happen to run you over even if you found out the driver was drunk?
-
No one is asking you to do that you know. What we are asking though, is that you give the whole "Yamato has too many flaws blah blah" a friggin rest. Let the people who like the Yamato's enjoy what's coming. Let them judge for themselves what sucks or what's cool. No need to resurrect the same issues all over again. It's gotten really really old and tired. That's all that we [Yamato Altar Boys] are asking.
-
yeah, that's the same thing that happened when the Tower Of Babel fell. Isamu, we've all been here long enough to know that the mods do this for free. S & G trusts them to make decisions that may piss someone off. If you have issues with a mod, take it up to S & G. They are the "higher power"
-
Yes, and it's only a matter of time that we see one. Someone already answered this one Awww...you make it sound as if I do. I'm a fan of theirs, yes, but I do acknowledge any problems that their toy has. I just don't make it my personal mission to slam the brand, and nitpick about every seam, peg, screw, paint chip, hole, color, plastic thickness, head size, hand size, ball joint, shoulder/elbow movement range, materials used for certain parts, the color of the intakes, whether or not it is canon, and just about every minute issue I can find about it, everytime there is a topic to be said about it, and all of that, just because I had a bad first or second experience about one of their products. I have better things to do with my time, and my toys than to sit on a table and look at it under a microscope all the time.
-
Dang! Sorry to hear that man! I experienced something similar when a large frame hanging above my table, fell, and toppled my stuff. My Voltron took a 5 foot dive, and I lost my yellow lion to the inevitable. Since then, I've learned to keep expensive toys off of the table and in their boxes, or take off anything that may fall (clocks, frames, etc) off a wall next to your toys. Good luck on a fix bud. Drif, the material used on a toy is irrelevant on this issue. Any toy that falls a certain height, will almost always have something breaking off.
