I like driving, though. Especially back roads. And I'm not sure how comfortable I am trusting my life to a computer. The one thing all computers seem to have in common regardless of what they're for or what operating system they're running is that they all seem to crash at the worst times... -

Dunno... especially because I've liked most Evos from the Evo III on. -
Animated cartoon "Macross 30" TV production hope!

I know. I've just feel that having it as a PlayStation game limited the audience. Especially since the TV shows, movies, and OVAs can enjoy re-releases on tape, laser disc, DVD, Blu-ray, iTunes, etc. Best VF-X2 can hope for is to show up in the PlayStation Network. -

I think fans have been wanting an OVA for VF-X2 for years. Such a good story for a game, especially considering how bad the first one was. at this point, I kind of doubt it'll happen. -

Macross 7 has already had a movie, a handful of encore episodes, and an OVA, even after having more episodes in its run than either the original Macross or Frontier. I'm all for more Macross, but not 7. That story's been told. -

If it helps, I've had a couple of HTC phones, and I've been pleased with them. I'd like to think that Motorola's current offerings are a bit more solid than my old KRZR, but I'm not really willing to give it a go. -
That's what I'm thinking. I wanted to try to open it up to see how difficult PS3 surgery might be, but I can't get it open. I have a T-10 screwdriver bit, but the screwdriver it goes it is too wide to get the bit far enough down the hole to reach the screw. I'll probably end up buying a new screwdriver, but if this whole thing gets too expensive I might just set it up for Netflix and PSN games and call it a day. EDIT: Went to Lowe's and found a nice Kobalt Torx screwdriver. It's got 4 double-ended bits (8 heads total) that store inside the handle, and the bits are about half the size as my regular screwdriver. Once I got that single Torx screw out of the side, taking the top covers off was cake. The drive assembly is easy enough to remove, but I'm not sure yet if I can replace the entire thing or if I have to take it apart too. With the top covers off, I was able to hear that the disc inside was spinning, so maybe I just need to replace the laser.

The main site had a flash map with dots on it. I checked again on my iPad and I got a mobile version with a list of cities. so, to be perfectly clear, 4g is up and running right now in San Diego. There is some talk that Verizon is going to be limiting data allowance on both 4g and 3G plans. There is also talk that Verizon may charge a premium for 4g (right now thery're both "smartphone data plan"). Thing is, if you get an unlimited 4g plan now, then Verizon stops offering unlimited 4g or raises the price, they're still contractually obligated to give you unlimited 4g at whatever price it was when you signed up (currently $29.99/month). Pass on the Droid X. It's not a bad phone, but it's on the way out. -
Anybody know anything about PlayStation 3 repair? My brother gave me one that turns on ok and seems to work fine except that it won't read any discs. A quick Google search seems to indicate that the problem... documented, although they seem to indicate that it's the Blu-ray laser failing. Problem with that is that they seem to say that the PS3 should know that there's a disc inside it, but it will flash a warning that it can't read the disc. In my case, the PS3 can take the disc in and eject it, but it doesn't sound like the disc is spinning and it doesn't show up, readable or otherwise, in the XMB.

Here's info on Verizon's 4G coverage. Looks to be in about 38 areas right now, and they're promising nationwide coverage by 2013. I'm almost positive that San Diego is one of them (you're still there, right?). Their 4G network was demonstrated at around 18Mbps, and while real-world usage will vary, it should be comparable to cable. As for the Thunderbolt, well, it's a 4.3" screen backed by 768MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with a 32GB MicroSD card pre-installed, powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and supporting Verizon's 4G network. If I wasn't locked into my Incredible for another year, that's what I'd be getting. Expect it to be on sale by the end of the month, for around $250 on contract. As far as I know, it's already gone into effect. -

A resounding wait... the Thunderbolt will be out by the end of the month, the Bionic should be out in late Q1 early Q2 of this year, and the Droid X2 by late spring early summer. All will have better specs than the Droid X, and at least the Thunderbolt and Bionic will support Verizon's budding LTE 4G network. -

I've got the same phone. It's funny... I'd longed for a Verizon iPhone since my friend got the original AT&T iPhone years ago, and now that Verizon's actually got it I'm using my Incredible to read up on new HTC Android phones at MWC in the hopes of finding my next phone. -

This. Hyundai, with the possible exception of the Tiburon, has sort of struck me as a budget-conscious, blandish sort of brand. Starting with the Genesis, though, their designs have been better. Personally, I'm sticking with Mitsubishi, but I'd rather have the new Elantra than a Corolla. -
A small lamp, a box of tissues, a wireless mouse, charger for my Incredible, charger for my iPad, and the iPad itself. Not reading any books right now, but my iPad is loaded with comic books. Magazines don't go on the nightstand; they go in the bathroom. CPU, and Popular Science.

I was thinking to stick the spoiler onto the one he already has. To be toy accurate, the top of the spoiler should be back far enough not to interfere with his knees, and if it slopes upward enough, I think it'll just clear the back of the car that makes up his calf. But yeah, I think the thing that impressed me the most about Jazz and Tracks is how much the designs have improved. They have fun transformations that hide their weapons, look good in both modes, and have solid articulation without being as overly complicated and finicky as some of the earlier releases. For a very stark comparison, Jazz looks great in both modes, has great articulation, and is relatively simple to transform. Prowl, who has a similar appearance in both modes, is a pain to transform, has a head that sticks up too far off his chest and shoulders, and has terrible balance.

Went to visit my parents today. They live near a Kohl's and a Target that's not my Target, so I figured I'd hunt there. I'm glad I did! At Kohl's I found Tracks and Jazz (they had a ton of each), and they were buy one get one half off (which works to offset the fact that they're very overpriced at $14.99 each). At their Target I found a solitary Blurr (the only one I've seen anywhere). I think that brings me up to speed, more or less. I know people have found Prime, Scourge, Wreck-Gar, and Perceptor, but I can assume they haven't made there way to my neck of the woods yet. EDIT: Some quick thoughts. Blurr is a blue Peg with guns instead of swords, so if you liked that mold, you'll like Blurr. Some might complain that his head isn't very Blurr-ish... it's true that it's not the TV-shaped box that G1 Blurr had, but it's spot-on for his IDW incarnation. Jazz, aside from some fidgeting with his feet, is pretty simple to transform, and amazingly G1-but-better. Silver feet and shins, check. Black knees, hips, biceps, and hands, check. White forearms and thighs, check. Grooves on arms, check. Front of car becomes chest, tires swivel up with his arms, check. I'm actually sorely tempted to paint over his headlights and try make a bigger box spoiler to complete the look. Speaking of paint, it's a little disappointing that his rear window and tail lights are unpainted. As for Tracks, he's better than I thought he'd be. His backpack gear and shoulder missiles don't really form a box around his head like the original's, but it's still pretty good. The tribal flames on his hood just don't compare to the awesome late 70s, early 80s look of the original, though (the Reprolabels ones are better, but not quite there)... indeed, while his rear looks pretty good, his front end isn't very 'Vette-ish. His knees also seem to want to bend more backwards than forwards... probably for Wheeljack.

Not that I've seen. My shop level is up to 21, and I've only got two Extra missions and four Survival missions to go.
-
I'm guessing he meant Megs, as in Megatron. eugimon, were you by chance posting from a smartphone? I can see autocorrect turning Megs into kegs.

The era restriction unlock shows up in the shop when the shop level hits 17. I think that's the same as MUF. Costs 35,000. I think the tune point unlimiter opens at the same time, and it's 30,000 points. Not 100% sure... I can read the katakana that says "tune", but I couldn't afford both at the moment.

Another Century's Episode: P(ortable) for the Sony PSP.

ACE is good times... but it's really better if you're a Gundam fan. I remember the YF-19 being ok in ACE 3 on the PS2, but the game is balanced to favor robots, not planes. I always wound up playing mostly the Gundams. -
Are there named variants of other valkyries that I should be aware of? Until reading this thread, the only VF-19s I knew of were the A, F, S, P, and Fire Valkyrie.

Home gaming works better for me at the moment, and there's also the fact that I already own a PS3 and probably won't buy an NGP/PSP2, at least, not for awhile. On the other hand, import games are expensive enough for handhelds...

I'm almost done with the everything except two Extra missions I died on, and four of the Survival campaigns. Between what I've completed, leveling up the store, and buying stuff in the store, I've unlocked all the units. Neither the VF1-JA or the Zentradi Valkyrie from Macross II are in the game, and while they show up as enemies, the Marduk battle pods aren't playable. Likewise, I'd still like to see the VF-3000, the VF-14, Pheyos, and the Variable Glaug, and that's just to finish filling in the units we've seen. What'd be really cool is if Kawamori could fill in some of the blanks (VF-5 or VF-16, anyone?). On the whole, there's a lot of minor improvements that do make this the best Macross game available. That said, if you own MUF I'd almost suggest replaying that and waiting for the the inevitable sequel (on that note, a new Macross game or Gundam Battle game on the NGP would turn the thing from a curiosity to a must-buy for me).

I'd feel bad about Activision killing off Guitar Hero, but I'd thought Rock Band was the better game/franchise since its inception. Now it's to point where I've got nearly 500 songs available whenever I play Rock Band 3, and the last Guitar Hero I'd played was... 3? 4?
