  1. I think the current release is just the movie. But inside it is a coupon for $10 off the "Blu-ray 3D combo" (which doesn't exist yet). According to the slip, it'll include the Blu-ray, the 3D Blu-ray, the DVD, a digital copy, and will be "loaded with never-before-seen exclusive bonus content." If the bonus content turns out to be cool, I'll use the coupon and get the newer edition, and give this one to my dad. If not, I don't have a 3D TV and rarely watch bonus features anyway.
  2. I bought the Blu-ray. Only $20 at Target for the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo. Sadly, the site to get the digital copy is not working at the moment.
  3. Throttlebots? Or does that not count because Bumblebee was Goldbug at the time?
  4. People hate to hear it because it's gotten something of a bad rep, but objective tests say Norton Internet Security. That said, I use Microsoft Security Essentials for protection, and Malwarebytes Anti Malware for removal.
  5. Castle Crashers is excellent.
  6. 5 USD for 6-7 actually new planes, sure. 5 USD for 6-7 planes that were in previous Ace Combat games and a seriously shorter roster of available planes on-disc, no.
  7. I'm a technophile; I wouldn't have bought it in the first place if I was just going to resell it. And I don't have kids. So the first two are out. The picture frame isn't a bad idea. The charging docks are on clearance at Staples, so I could pick up one cheap. I was thinking I might do so something similar, but have it show a clock instead of pictures. I just moved from a one bedroom apartment to a house, and I don't have a clock in the computer room (where I spend most of my time). Not a huge deal when I'm just surfing the net, but if I'm playing a PC game I'm into I tend to lose track of time. Hacking it's not a bad idea either. I mean, I like QNX. It's very similar to webOS (enough so that I'm a little surprised there were no lawsuits). But there's hardly any apps for it. I mean, I think the TouchPad (which I also bought dirt cheap) has more. I'll give it a month or so to see if they ever get around to releasing that update that'll let it run Android apps. If not, maybe I'll see if anyone's got it to run Android outright. If anyone cares, software's ok, app support sucks, but the hardware is really nice. Solid construction, nice grippy back, great screen, surprisingly good speakers for as small as it is, pre-installed video player has .avi support. Nowhere near worth the $499 price RIM wanted, but lots of places are selling it for less now (Staples is selling them for $249 after a rebate).
  8. I'm likewise caught up on Deluxe-class Generations figures (I'm kind of pissed we'll never get the scout-class Rumble and Frenzy, less bothered by not getting Windcharger or Grapple). I wish I could have found some of the Reveal the Shield figures I missed, though.
  9. I got a BlackBerry PlayBook for dirt cheap. Anyone know any good uses for it?
  10. I liked the Criterion version of Robocop, even if it was only stereo audio on the DVD. I bought the Blu-ray, haven't watched it though.
  11. This thread popped up while I was replying in the SW BR thread, so I'll just quote what I wrote there.
  12. But the arguments always seem to break into two camps. One side wants the movies as they remember them from the theater, and complains that Lucas is raping their childhood with every edit he makes. The other side shrugs, accepts Lucas' right to make whatever tweaks to the art that he created, and is content to buy whatever version is available because hey, it's Star Wars. Why can't there be a middle ground, though? I accept Lucas' ownership and am largely ambivalent to whatever changes Lucas wants to make... I'll go so far as to say that I think some are for the better, like using Hayden Christensen for Anakin's ghost in RotJ. But given how many other films are released with both a theatrical cut and a second extended/unrated/Director's cut, is it really that unreasonable to suggest that Lucas should have included both the Special Editions and the original releases in the Blu-ray box?
  13. Yeah, I think so. That looks familiar, but it's kind of hard to remember. I only played the game at a friend's house, and I was probably in second or third grade at the time.
  14. That is to say, HAWX 2 sucked. The first one wasn't too bad, even though it was no Ace Combat, but the second one flat out sucked. Sad thing is, there really hasn't been much in the way of competition for Ace Combat. Maybe the Air Force Delta series...
  15. Dunno about Star Wars (too busy moving to even think about buying the Blu-rays), but I'm happy to say that I have all 11 Trek movies on Blu-ray.
  16. I don't think so. My memory is a little hazy on the details, but I clearly remember super-move pitches and hits. They remind me of the throws in Super Dodgeball; I think that's why my mind linked them, not any particular art style.
  17. Thanks, JB0, I think that's it. If this happens, I'm sold. I could care less about the browser, though. My PSP is probably the last thing I'll go to for a web browser now.
  18. I also seem to recall a baseball game on the NES from the people who made Super Dodge Ball, with cool special move pitches and stuff. That was fun.
  19. I'm with AVGN, we need this on XBLA/PSN. Who do we even contact to make this happen?
  20. Anyone else trying the Windows 8 Developer Preview? Right now I can't decide if I'm just irritated because it's different, or if I genuinely hate it.
  21. Well, I still like their first one the best. But Hot Mess was really good too.
  22. Have you heard anything from the new Cobra Starship? I like it overall, but it's my least favorite.
  23. Liked the first movie, liked the TV show, hated everything else Highlander, reboot's gonna suck. Guess I don't really have anything else to add to the discussion, but what else is there to say?
  24. Not six. Seven. Voyager dragged on for seven seasons.
  25. It was. I'm not saying that better ones haven't come along (I think Lifehacker picked a different one during one of their "best X application for Y OS" articles, even), but it's definitely in the top five. At one time, though, it really was the best choice if you wanted a single player for multiple formats. I started using it then, I got used to it, and so I use it to this day. It's pretty spartan, with a lot of tweakable options buried in menus, but it's very lightweight and plays everything I throw at it without the need to download any codec packs. I guess in some ways it's like Firefox. Firefox was the best, but now all my friends keep saying I should use Chrome. But Firefox does everything I want, and I'm used to it, so I keep on using it.
