  1. That's too funny and too cool. Great creativity.
  2. Archaeologists will wonder about our cult of the legless pilot
  3. Thanks for sharing! I wonder how smooth those would print in resin, and if they would warp.
  4. You can get these 0.96 RGB LCD screens for Arduino for just a few bucks. However, I have not found an easy tutorial on how to load videos on these, but it is something I really want to figure out for my projects. These are what the Japanese modeler 6jirosdc, who is customizing the Hachette and the MaxFaxtory valks, is using for his screens (I actually recommended him to switch to these RGBs from B&W screens he was using, and unlike me he actually knows how to code).
  5. Ooh, nice finish! The red panel line really makes it stand out. Is that a real world plane? And the red panel line contains what?
  6. +1000 But that's just me. When a model moves or lights up, my heart skips a beat.
  7. Your first intake compared to your second intake shows a huge learning curve. This is exactly what I love about modeling. It's amazing what you can learn to do. It teaches me that if you're not pleased with your work, try again! And when I am pleased, I stop, I don't care what others think!!!
  8. Uhhhhh, I'm not putting my finger in there 🤪
  9. Our friend @Xigfrid requested I make this model for him, so when I had some time I printed a copy for my self. It seems to me that 3D Models and Printing is in its infancy. I have a feeling in the future, 3D models will be treated like any scale model or spare parts in a junk yard. They are just parts to be used by whomever for whatever purpose they want. Imagine if the guys putting together the Millennium Falcon had to credit every single model they took parts from for greeblies. And then imagine if all those model companies came knocking on George Lucas' door asking for royalties because they had used their fender from a car kit for the tail of the Falcon. Just rambling, I haven't really thought this through...
  10. @MechTech May be of interest, several of his favorites are about machining.
  11. Lovely design, inspiration, and execution. Real cute too! What is the story behind your diorama display base? Is it scratch built or 3D Printed?
  12. Aha! Now I get it. And it will look sweet!
  13. @MechTech Nice clean work as always. What RPM is your 6mm motor? And probably a dumb question, but why do you need the gearbox and crown gear at all? They dont appear to be reducing the RPM. Couldn't you just use the black and blue gears, and reverse the polarity of the motor, to get the same result?
  14. That is a very high skill set. It will take some time to carefully go through these photos.
  15. @MechTech That is a very elegant build. Everything in the mecha matches well together. The light shades of sand you chose are very appealing. You've worked on it for a long time, I had guessed the modified tank was going to end up with your little Hulkbusters someday! At first your mechs reminded me of Masamune Shirow's style, but now with the diorama complete, it reminds me a bit more of Gasaraki. What were your inspirations? The photography came out nice and neat. You have put a lot of details everywhere in your scratch build which makes it fun to look at from different angles. Thanks for all the photos! I have them downloaded and will study them slowly.
  16. Really? I just dont' know. I love building stuff, but my painting makes me feel queezy.
  17. Dude, you're hired! We need a few dozen more of your classy, lovely, nostalgic gifs.
  18. Okay, that's gotta the greatest gif of all time. Dont be surprised to see me use it everywhere, with your permission.
  19. Thanks guys. This is how it looks after primer, preshade and final coat. I needed a light final coat to bring out all the preshaded details. I will do some oil washes when done, but I don't want a heavy weathered look. This is intended to be a sci-fi platform, not WWII. How do you like it? Feedback appreciated on this painting process.
  20. This is a WIP of a platform extension for my flight deck. It is 3D printed from a variety of parts available online, and a few parts I designed myself. The barrel racks are by Xigfrid. Lots more to do...
  21. Agreed. That is what I meant by lacking the vision... the vision required to stand out as a sci-fi series, given the competition, and the precedent set by great sci-fi anime.
  22. My two cents: The show's weakness wasn't one particular scene or another, it was an overall lack in quality, the director's inability to make the action scenes impressive (whether in street fighting or space scenes), the CG director's lack of vision, the costume designer and makeup's many faux pas, and the writer's inability to capture a more serious and mysterious tone for the characters and back story. As usual in bad movies, too much exposition is just too much. I would still take bad Netflix Bebop over 95% of the crap on there now, and I think the team could have caught a groove in proceeding seasons. See you space cowboy...
  23. My builds usually have eelctronics inside, which makes putty that much harder. I always swear I'm not gonna putty this time, and then I do...
