  1. We usually wait until the price drops to $30 or less before we buy any games. There are only two games that I can remember paying $50 for (Madden 2K4, and SOCOM II), but that will be the last time I do that. It would figure that only four months after I shelled out some major money for SOCOM II (game, modem, memory card, CAT5 cable, etc.) the price dropped to $19.99 under their "greatest hits" collection. The worst part is that I have more fun playing the single player game than I do playing online, so it was almost a pointless purchase.
  2. I guess I should maybe update this thing, huh? I'll try to do it by next weekend.
  3. The reason why we initially assumed that the 1/48 was so fragile is due to the complexity of the transformation. After you've changed it a few times, it's no big deal and you become more secure with the rigidness of the toy.
  4. It's hard for me to figure out where all the time went since my son was born. He's four now and he's just as much of a Macross fan as I am. Congrats on the new addition to your family. It's a wild ride, and a lot of fun.
  5. Did anyone else notice the "GRIMROCK" Transformer on HLJ's site?
  6. I thought you said that you listen to stuff that doesn't "suck"
  7. HELL YES!!!!!!!!! How did I ever forget to list them? Somebody smack me! I especially like Halford's "Crucible". Even though it's a new album, it sounded like the classic metal that he was known for with Priest.
  8. Here's what you'll typically find playing in my truck or my office: Cannibal Corpse Morbid Angel Slayer OLD Metallica (before the tragic loss of Cliff Burton) OLD Megadeth (because Dave really pussed out when he "found god") Led Zeppelin The Doors Pink Floyd Lamb of God Fear Factory It's a pretty wide variation in styles, but it all helps my day of working with idiots go faster.
  9. Sounds a lot like the "is black really a color" debate. Technically, it's the lack of color, but almost everyone will insist that black is actually a color.
  10. The 1/48 gives an actual sense of realism to the Valk. By looking at it, you almost want to believe "this can actually be done." All of the other toy versions just make it look like a toy, and not much more. I can remember how geeked we all were when news of the 1/60 line broke, and how that was the best thing ever. When the news of the 1/48 line surfaced, I was just floored. Made a promise that I would at least own one (ended up with two thus far). Not only is the 1/48 line great for Macross, but look at what it has inspired with the Transformer line as well. Now we are seeing "perfect transformation" toys popping up all over. Thank you Yamato!!
  11. Wow, that's really impressive for being so small. I thought it would be much bigger given the detail that it has.
  12. As far as beer goes, Spotted Cow is a great one to drink. Brewed here in Wisconsin, and goes down smooth. If I had my choice of what to drink, I'd be drinking Long Islands all night.
  13. Now let's see a custom TF box for that bad boy.
  14. I'm lazy today, so please excuse me for not looking through countless posts to find the answer to this. If Windcharger was issued with a castrated weapon, why was Grimlock issued with a pointy sword? I was under the assumption that the concern was that someone would poke their eye out with the barrel of the weapon, but it would seem that a sword would do a better job of poking than a gun. Just my opinion.
  15. There was a Shockwave on the shelf last night as well. If you're willing to pay shipping, I can snatch it for you if it's still there. So far, the only one I had to get from ebay was Jazz. I've been fortunate enough to get all the others directly from the stores.
  16. Last night I was finally able to get all caught up on the collection. I now have all 12 that were released in my area. Now I'm waiting for Wheeljack to come out here. Which one of the Alt's/Binal's was the hardest for you guys to get?
  17. They did seem to dumb down the Dinobots pretty bad starting with the movie. I found Wheelie far more annoying though. Yea, you'd think that they would have been able to give them a more intelligent AI with how complex their transofmation design was. Did the Autobot design budget run short or something? Wheeljack: "Uh Prime, I got some good news and some bad news." Prime: "What's the good news?" Wheeljack: "We built the Dinobots and they're fully functional..." Prime: "And the bad news?" .... Grimlock: "Me Grimlock big dumb robot with no brains!"
  18. I did the exact opposite of you. I found a Ravage and a Shockwave, but I opted for Shockwave because the head design on Ravage looked gay. Now, Ravage is the only one I'm missing until they come out with more.
  19. Not interested in a "well hung" Valk?
  20. Or people who break into a house by going through the skylite in the roof, only to fall on a knife and get thousands in settlements.
  21. Grimlock actually isn't that bad of a figure. He looks pretty cool when in vehicle and robot form. A local TRU here had Windcharger, Swindle and Ravage on the shelf. I got Windcharge and then went back for the others but only Swindle remains. So far, I'm only two down for the collection. I'm not sure if it's the dumb employees or a cunning shopper, but everywhere I go and find Alts, they are never with the rest of the Transformers. They always seem to be where the ghetto radio control cars and the Hot Wheels are.
  22. You got "offended" by that? Does someone in your family work for one of the mentioned toy companies or something? You really shouldn't let what I or anyone else says on here bother you so much.
  23. It's going to be interesting to see what transformation design they decide to rip off this time. The original Jetfire was a direct rip of the old Taka Valk, so I wonder if they will somehow copy or mimic the newer and much better Yammie design. Jetfire was the ONLY Transformer plane that actually looked cool, and the rest sucked big time.
