Hello fellow MWer's. Well, the title kind of says it all. I've pretty much plumbed Google's Image Search for reference material for Gundam NT-1 Alex, and was hoping that one, or some, of you may have something a little more rare. Basically, I'm looking for good references of the head, and the upper torso. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Aircraft Vs Thread 4
the white drew carey replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
My parent's live in Plant City, FL (outside of Tampa) and he says when he was golfing they saw an Osprey refueling helicopters overhead. He was so excited, he called me at work. I didn't know the Osprey could do that. -
25th Anniversary GI Joe
the white drew carey replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Ummmm... Isn't G.I. Joe technically more than 25 years old? Shouldn't it be G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero 25th Anniversary, since that's the particular incartation they are refering to? And these figures kind of look like crap. It's a shame, really. -

Amen to that! Although Directing wouldn't be too bad. I bet they'll lose Special Effects to something like Heroes. -

True. Most people seem to be ignoring that feature, but I think that it's an important one to keep in mind... as soon as there are games released only in Japan that I want to play!!!! -

Actually, it kind of is. At least We Love Katamari is. You really have to judge when you move to a new area and what to go for in order to open up secret/special stuff. Like I said, I really don't want to get an X-box 360 because I don't care too much about most of the games on it, but Katamari IS a major selling point for me. I think those games are a frakking blast!!! -
Well, I find the "How to Draw Manga" books to be a little basic. It's simply a hard thing to judge how quickly someone will advance their skills... Do you have a natural talent for drawing, or do you find yu have to practice and practice to get better? It also depends on the effort you want to put forth. A little effort will take you longer, and a lot of effort could make it faster. If you want to draw VF's, I suggest you pick up Kawamori Design Works, and Macross Perfect Collection. Those two books will give you some of your most valuable reference material.

Gundam Figure Thread

Theyr're detailed and articulate, yes. But I often feel that the proportions are always a bit off so that they look goofy. I don't care for them too much because of that. -

Yeah, Katamari is weirded-out, but it ain't no crock of crap. It's probably one of the more innovative games to come out for any system, and is strangely addictive. -

WTF!?! Sh!t. I really like the Katamari series, but I really don't want to get a 360 if I can avoid it. -
Ummm, yeah. What Sketchley and Phil K said. I guess it's all about the effort. If you put more time in Gundam Seed instead of Macross, it's going to be easier, and vice versa. The thing with Seed is that the Gundams are more about dynamic poses, and clutter for clutter's sake. To me, they're not very impressive designs, even for Gundam. Atleast with something like the S-Gundam, they've designed it pretty complicated, but they also make everything look like it belongs.

Harry Pottter and the order of the phoenix
the white drew carey replied to jwinges's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The DVD's typically have around 5-10 deleted scenes as a special feature, but they aren't integrated into the film. I may have to see it again, but I think this one may be my least favorite of the bunch. One of the first things I said to my wife was that I truly hope they have a director's cut, or special edition, with this one, putting back in anything that they actually filmed and finished, but had to cut. It really needs it. -

I think I asked this before, but I'm having trouble finding it in this thread: My TV had a DVI port, does that mean I can run the video through an HDMI cable, but that I need to connect the audio differently (ie- Optical, yPBRmeASaP, or plain old audio cables)??? Also, I recall someone saying that you can get HD through your component cables, but I'm assuming an HDMI cablewould be better? I'm real;y trying to justify a PS3 purchase to the mrs., and the only two selling points I have on her right now are 1) Our current DVD's may look better (and it plays Blu-Ray), and 2) Beautiful Katamari. -
Harry Pottter and the order of the phoenix
the white drew carey replied to jwinges's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Maybe, or maybe just being a bit longer. It's based on the longest book, yet it's the shortest movie. It might've been better if there was more of a connection between the different scenes, but it just jumps so quickly... -

My main problem was that the movie is good in it's parts, but the whole leaves much to be desired. While the previous films, especially 3 and 4, cut out the excess fat and then made some changes in order for it to be a coherent story, it is almost like 5 took sections of the book and filmed them without trying to bring some cohesiveness to it. IMO, this is the first movie that truly relies on the viewer having read the book first. Most people I know who like the movies but have never read the books admit they were a little confused with this one. -

Hmmm... it might not look too bad if given a wash or two to darken up the crevices. As it stands right now, it looks too one dimensional. -
I don't know, I've seen all of the Die Hard flicks when they came out and it fit the role for me. My wife and I were very pleased with the movie (heck, she evens started clapping at impressive moments) and I'm starting the feel that the Die Hard franchise is one of the best action series out there, because it stays true to it's genre: the popcorn action movie. Rock on Live Free or Die Hard!!! (and the daughter is hot)

The WWE and Pro-Wrestling Thread

I agree that they might not have known something nefarious was up, but the circumstances were enough that one would expect them to hold off until further notice. If I were in charge of a major media franchise like WWE, I would've just cancelled Raw for the evening pending further information. What's worse, I keep thinking of the wrestlers who glowingly spoke in memory of Benoit on Raw, and what they must think of themselves now, trying to equate the man they knew (and the kind words they said of him) with a murderer. -
Agreed. What I would hate to see is Iron Man becoming suddenly proficient at flying. Even towards the end, I would like to see him wobble and make mistakes.

The WWE and Pro-Wrestling Thread

I disagree. Only the local media had anything to say about it, and I'm not even sure when that was first publicized. National Media didn't pick up on it until much later (possibly even the next day, although I cannot recall correctly). WWE knew something had to have been fishy due to the text messages, yet decided to throw together a tribute show on very short notice. A smart move would've been to hold off until further notice. Now you have a bunch of wrestlers who cried, lamented and praised a man who we now know how serious enough issues that he felt he had to take the life of his wife, his son and then himself... and not in quick succession. Monday night's Raw is akin to news outlets over-reporting election results, but with a terrible and tragic twist. Man, if you're gonna take yourself out, don't take others with you. That's just pussy-ass. -
I'm incredibly happy thus far. Fav... Favr... Fav-row isn 't the greatest director, but he ain't bad. Plus, RDJ is a great acotr, just suffered too much with his bad boy image over the past 20 years or so.

Looks like WWE was a little too quick to shoot their load with a "Tribute to Benoit" episode of Raw. That's like Monday Night Football doing a tribute to OJ when he slips this mortal coil to go hang in hell.
