1. Hmmm. Probably that's it. They still haven't explained what exactly is a CD and what its for yet. IIRC, it was also a power source cause dominic's bike was using a CD as fuel if i'm not mistaken. Fortmax: I doubt the reason was "because its popular" if practicality was an issue... so i guess it was quite practical to make a ref board and the controls weren't a problem. Perhaps its something like in gundam seed. When they found Eureka could do the basic movements, they just copy the movements into a program making controls less complicated. They did say development halted due to movements can't be done easily, until Eureka came along. Side note: Anyway, all the airborne units including those huge flying fortresses seem to be using the Trapar instead of normal propulsion and lift. Not sure if normal lift is possible, but the trapar probably makes it easier for those big ships to stay in the air which probably isn't possible using normal lift.
2. Looks like its gonna be some kinda cyber hacking series or something. Like Baldr Force.
3. Every mech show has to "powerup" their mechs mid-show. If not more than once or twice.
4. I got the impression that the Spearheads were a lot newer, hence the different tech. However, Dewey referred to it as old and we also saw one in a flashback to their military days when Adrock was still around so they're hardly fresh from the factory either. 372974 The Nirvash is the 1st (ever found), and oldest LFO ever created. The Spearheads (is that what its called?) were probably advanced prototypes but still newer than the Nirvash. What i was trying to say is, its easier to have some simple mechanism for flight on an LFO like a jetpack with wings, or if you wanna use the trapar, the side skirts on the Spearheads would do as well compared to something complicated like a Ref board which requires human-like movements. And you could see that the engineers even had problems making the nirvash prototype walk, and getting them to be as agile as they are now, probably required probably tonnes of programming to the OS, what more programming ref-like movements into the controls. I just realised that theEnd's cockpit was in the torso compared to normal LFOs which were on the back.
5. OooOh...i hope you don't wear that underneath during weekends. Those bloomers....would be interesting to see someone in it. Any cosplay pictures? XD
6. Its kinda cool that Eureka found out about the "car mode" accidentally just like how they found out about the gerwalk mode accidentally. And I think Eureka looks hot with long hair. I still feel though that application of a giant ref board as a means of flight is too complicated if not over-the-top. They should've just done it like they did with Charle's and Ray's mech. Simpler to design and easier to control. Imagine the algorithms and complexity of the controls just to get the mech to "balance" on a ref board what more to fly on it. I'd think doing a Cut Back Drop Turn as a human is hard enough, what more using a LFO.
7. Replica costume? Where? Link pls! Can't find it.
8. w00t. Aliens. I knew it. Told you all so. XD Nice ep revealing more stuff. And last part of the next ep preview has what seems to be variable mecha fighters. w00ts! It keeps getting bettar and bettar.
9. Its in episode 4 that you claim you've watched.
10. I would agree its a homage to recent anime and the old gunbuster, but i don't agree it would have nothing that ties back to the original. I'm quite sure they will tie in, based on some stuff that i've already stated and observed before. 1.) The Variable Gravity Wave is one of the original Uchuu Kaijun. Lark mentions its not a Topless but a "REAL" Space Monster suggesting what they were fighting all along aren't the real ones. Rewatched Top1 and confirmed design of VGW is the same as Top1 space monsters. 2.) Nono mentioned the Terran Imperial Space Force which was the original space government in Top 1. Her eyes (after powerup) and buster corp are in the shape of the Terran Imperial Space Force's logo. 3.) Nono is Buster Machine Seven, continuing the number range used in Top1 whereas the new Buster Machines are numbered in Latin, probably continuing the series since Dix-Neuf is 19. 4.) There is no more Jupiter. Jupiter was used as mass to activate the black hole bomb (buster machine 3) in Top 1. Now we have the red milkyway probably after effects of the bomb and the new aliens who are called the Jupiter Express. That's why i am convinced it will tie back in and will prove itself to be a sequel to the original Top1.
11. Following in the steps of Makoto Shinkai's Voices of A Distant Star is Yasuhiro Yoshiura's Pale Cocoon, done entirely by himself. I just picked this fansub a week ago and boy was it great! Its a 30 minute episode, with cool CG and an intriguing story. Humans are living in huge underground complexes that look like futuristic ghettos because the environment outside has become too dangerous for human habitation due to human negligence to protect the environment in the past. The main character is a data salvager. Basically not much is known about their past and how they came to live in this huge underground complex, so these data salvagers would "dig up" old data (in binary format ) and restore them to their original states, mostly pictures of the "old world" where they had animals, plants etc. One day the main character gets a video file.......and is very intrigued by the video. Once the video was restored, he realised the folly of humans...... I was totally refreshed by this anime short. It proves (just like VOADS) that short stories can convey as much meaning and substance if not more, than an anime which has 100++ episodes. I highly recommend it. Check it out at the usual places. 12. Almost none, really. Its a homage piece, as the original Top was. Where Top paid homage to anime of the 70's and 80's, Top2 does this with the 90's and 00's. Its really a re-imaging more than a sequel. 372329 Check out the posts me and chrono made few pages back. I think they'll tie it back eventually even if they don't spell it out to you. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...ic=10410&st=640 Theories at best, but pretty good ones. It would probably help if you rewatched Gunbuster and then Diebuster shortly after.
13. Isn't 4chan just an english version of 2chan?
14. How about if those "placeholders" of the camo valk, probably the base is grey instead of brown, and those green patches are a darker grey or something? I don't mind a jungle /green valk ...something like an A-10. But green camo on brown is just too fugly.
15. woah...which side of the bed you got up from, jwinges. Your scale:price ratio is flawed and silly. You won't pay more than $100 for a 1/60 SDF-1? You're kidding right? And i think most people here would agree that the VF-0 is actually pretty good and a thumbs up to Yamato, compared to the 1/100 toy in the pipeline (and scrapped) Seriously, why are you b*tchin about "better features" of a newer toy which so happen is modeled after something that predates the VF-1? Anyway petty flaming aside, THAT BIRD LOOKS SCHWEEEEEEEEET!!! Is the fighter mode actually detailed-up more than the battroid and gerwalk modes? It looks like its slightly panelled and stuff. *gushes like a high school girl*
16. I digress. Its a decent Gunbuster toy. But if you want one good gunbuster toy, i think you should wait for the SOC. The kaiyodo is a cheap and fun thing to mess around with and tide you over till the SOC. SHE is abit steep....unless you're rich of course.
17. Urgh....that's disappointing. And no VF-0S either.
18. IIRC- Way back in the day when a sub needed to make a speed dive, everyone not actually doing something were sent to the nose of the sub to put more weight in the front, hence to help the nose tip over and dive faster. 371694 Oooh....that makes sense. Thanks.
19. My my....uwe boll's whinging worse than a highschool brat. "They all hate me....they are wrong....i am right....i am wronged by the Internets"
20. Hmmm.... i only have this site so far and it has nothing by yamato. There's some Votoms by Maxfactory and the new stuff from kotobukiya's armored core line. But no yamato. ??? Oh and check out the Five Star Story figures. Awesomeness. http://angelsrep.plala.jp/~fumiyuki/figure...20060219wf.html
21. Just watched the movie. It was pretty enjoyable. Anything you'd want from a submarine movie.....brotherhood, sacrifice, (you know someone has to die selflessly on the sub to save everyone). Story's fine but abit hokey, CG wasn't top notch but enjoyable nonetheless. Music was great and I realised in the credits its by LucasFilms. I'm not sure if its lost in translation, but there seems to be a crew for the Lorelei (the mini sub) but only one person pilots it. The girl Paula, is cute. Too bad she doesn't get much screentime or character development. And her body suit's hot. Totally unimportant to the movie, but can anyonie tell me who are the people who keep running to the torpedo storage room everytime they go into general quarters and seemingly to take cover there? Or are they just torpedo loaders?
22. Hey guys, i notice both the armour pieces that go on the air intakes of the valk have holes on the inner side. They don't seem to serve a purpose and i'm wondering if they are QC problems or everyone has it?
23. Like this? http://www.es-mod.com/w_rb000.html
24. Heck...speaking of chain reactions, the drop pods colliding with each other and exploding are silly. Those things are made to fall on earth and withstand high velocities. (are they? or do they have to land in the sea?)
