Thread de-railed. Anyway....some guy in a forum is offering home fixes for XBOX consoles that have 3ROD-ed. Bear in mind that we in Malaysia are not supported by Microsoft and thus sending the console in to be replaced is not an option for us unless we ship it to Singapore. So anyway, there's the X-clamp removal/replacement method that significantly stops the mobo from flexing during excessive heats (which I have done). But its not watertight solution as there's a chance that you can re-3ROD despite removal/replacing the X-clamp. This guy came up with what he calls the "NOS mod" which basically is an extra fan, and a home-made cardboard air tunnel to redirect the air flow amongst other things. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/442461/+1920

Shrug. I'll just say "alternate Simon" is the best interpretation of episode 1 to me. Besides the target they were gonna fire the Elsheim Cannon at seems to be the "Dimensional Galactic Government" (depending on your subs) seemingly to mean a mass alliance of spiral beings against Earth/Simon, not the Anti-spirals. And i really liked the tie in of episode 1 to episode 27 with the phrases "All these heavenly lights....are our enemies / are our friends" thing.

You choose to ignore the facts on-screen? Being technologically superior to a younger spiral race doesn't mean it knows what actions Simon would take. The anti-spirals just put lots of fail safes so that with every one that got defeated, there's another one that will take its place. For all you know, 1000 other spiral races went the same route as Simon but most failed at the Spiral planet extermination program and the anti-spiral gave the same speech to each of them, "Ho ho ho we knew u would come this far". Example: If i put 10 firewalls to my computer server, does it mean I know the virus will beat every single firewall until the 9th? No. I'm just preventing the virus from doing its harm from firewall no.1. If it beats the 10th firewall, then it just means the virus/hacker is just too powerful then i can give my "You're too good" speech before my server crashes and dies.

Because its quite evident that captain GarLock there is Simon with evolved Boota as his 2nd in command. 2ndly his cape and the flag on the ship clearly shows the Dai Gurren Dan's logo, unless you wanna stretch our belief that all Spiral beings will adopt the same logo coincidentally. 3rdly not to mention that captain Garlock mentions "Gurren Lagann, spin on!" which basically means he's referring to the name coined by none other than Kamina himself, unless u wanna go for a stretch and say Kamina coincidentally named it the same thing as what the previous spiral race named it. Sorry but that camp (if there was one) doesn't hold any water.

I did mention those that I explicitly remember a Haro, didn't say that it SHOULD have a Haro. Like i said, I think its gonna be the recurring mascot "NOW".

If there's one reason to watch Gundam 00 its Wong Ryumin.

I think the Haro has been around since MS Gundam and has been recurring in Zeta Gundam and Seed/Seed Destiny. I think its gonna be the recurring mascot now like the chocobo is for the FF series.

Btw just to confirm jsarclight's findings, i myself have been on hiatus from XBL and it was silver for 3 months due to reasons that i can't play my XBOX (3ROD grumble....then when i finally get it back, was swamped by work etc) and just 3 days ago i revived my silver back to Gold. So no worries on keeping your gamertag inactive.

Just started with Bioshock. This game is gorgeous.....and really has the same vibe as the System Shock games. I love how you can ignore the main mission and just go about collecting better plasmids and stuff.

Just watched eps 1 and 2. I'm quite surprised by the quality shown in the eps. Really nice animation as expected of Sunrise, and i'm really glad most of the action won't be in space since space is oh so boring especially when it gives you the chance to show repeated frames of animation. The idea of Celestial Being wanting to be public enemy no.1 to make the world unite against it is kinda cool. You see this alot in sci-fi books and games where the war strifed world rallied against a common alien threat....even macross has this. But i wonder if they can keep up having a war with the rest of the world. And if they are ever defeated, the peace will only last for so long. Tiera is so androgynous it makes me cringe in the ED sequence holding a handbag.

GAHHH!!! I skipped the credits. Stupid movie after credits thing. Is there any way to view the cinematics without playing it again? >_< EDIT: Ahh....good ol youtube has em. I had a hard time following the storyline. Maybe its just me. In between blasting my way through enemies, i'm presented with some cinematics that supposedly tell me what's goin on but I couldn't catch most of it. Half the time i'm not sure if i was on earth or some other planet....or the Ark...or Earth. I played it on Heroic...and boy was it tough on some levels, especially the flood stages. The machine gun , battle rifle and carbine are useless.....you can't kill anything on a single clip except the lil triangle backpack guys. Final level running away from exploding Halo was amazing. The last time I remembered playing a "RUN AWAY!" finale was Metal Gear Solid 3."

OT....but is the SPEC mecha on the left of God Mars supposed to be nadesico's Black Serena?? HOLY CRAP I WANT THAT!! More pictures pls.

Well....he's fighting for love. One cannot argue that destroying a whole Anti-spiral planet in the name of love as evil. The theme of the 2nd half of the show after all was for Simon to save Nia (his own selfish goal) and to have the motivation to push him fwd more into his goal. He had his doubts when the anti-spiral mind-f*cked him and revealed that his actions will destroy planets and even galaxies for the petty fleeting feeling of "Love". But does that stop him? No. Kick reason to the curb. Destroy a few galaxies and planets to save his loved one. Can you still call him evil? To the innocent bystanders.... yes. To the viewers, definately no. If you're one of those unfortunate planets being flung around by giant mecha as projectiles, would you appreciate Simon's power of love or would you just think he's an evil guy with selfish goals? We'll never know that. For all you know, he might just be defending against jealous spiral beings who want his power. Maybe someone kidnapped Darry and he's all out to save her, even if it means waging war with the whole universe. As i said, the show's theme shows that nothing is absolutely evil. Everyone's just doing what he thinks is right.

I'm posting this here instead of the Halo 3 thread to avoid spoilers. I'm about 1 hour into the game and I feel.....this is really an overhyped game. It felt almost generic if not same old. Maybe its slogan "Finish The Fight" is most appropriate. Finish it.....let it end already. We're only playing the game to find out what happens. I haven't played 1 and 2 to completion so I don't know head and tail of what's goin on.....but i borrowed my friend's copy of 360 port of Halo 2 so maybe I'll be able to make out what happened. I don't know, but I don't get the same immersion level as I did with Gears of War. That was one fantastic game and kudos to EPIC as you really felt like you were in a losing war and all hell has broken loose around you. Halo 3 feels like every other 3D FPS out there IMHO. Walk into an area....shoot down enemies....walk to the next. Even in terms of graphics, the graphics weren't as great as most ppl make it out to be. There was no tracer fire from my assault rifle. When I hit enemy, there's no obvious blood spray or anything so half the time I'm not sure if i was hitting an enemy or not. And flashy stuff like Plasma Grenades and Plasma Pistols do not have realtime lighting around them. You fire your guns in a dark cave , and the cave doesn't light up. Frankly I don't see what's the deal with the Halo franchise. I'm guessing its all about the Masterchief and how macho he's supposed to be. Frankly I feel Kratos is the most manly and macho game character evar. RANT OVER.

I await the day they come up with Terminator VS Robocop VS Alien VS Predator VS Batman. :lol:

What is evil? In gurren lagann there's no "EVIL". Everyone is fighting for their own justification of what's right. Simon will still be hot blooded in the alternate ending just that he's TOO hot blooded and probably has kicked reason to the curb. "WHAT? They wanna attack us? Who the hell they think we are? Madness? This....is.....Gurren DAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!!" (fires elsheim cannon destroying a few enemy galaxies)
