  1. Really tempted except for the vent stickers. If Yamato is leaving the VF-X as it is I think I'll pass. The fat undercarriage cover is one thing, but the faux vents make it too un-canon for me. Maybe I'll try and commission a non transforming custom one day.
  2. Done already. And Steven Seagal starred it. I can't remember the title of that movie tho', but I'm sure they're dozens of cheap productions with that same theme starred by guys like Michael Dudikoff and Gary Busey out there.
  3. I'm about the bite the bullet on this one. Does anybody knows if Amiami accepts Paypal?
  4. For me Errol Flynn still holds the title belt for best Robin Hood.
  5. IMHO, the Best Movie category has always been a political one for the Academy. Nominating Avatar for best movie the Academy is sending a message to the whole industry stating that they will recognize the movies that cost more, invest more money on promotion and drag the most people to the box office no matter the quality of the overall product. Same goes for Titanic, Ben-Hur and so many others. In other cases, the Academy awards the movies that result more morally and politically favored at the deliberation table were Washington surely has a chair of honor.
  6. Just picked up the new Zuckuss figure. I've always loved that character and the figure really does it justice. Does anybody knows if a new 4-Lom is on the way or if there's a decently ball jointed one out there already? Also I hope that Hasbro gives the Sandcrawler the BMF treatment soon. Edit: Nevemind, I just saw the upcoming SW figures at Toyark and 4-Lom is there
  7. Thanks for the comment, Ghadrack, you wont feel disappointed. I did my very best to make this a stand out book. I hope I succeeded so we can get to see models and toys of this someday.
  8. Thanks for the kind words, guys. I really hope you enjoy the book beyond the many obvious visual influences (of which I'm very proud, BTW). The support form this community in particular means a lot to me. Twoducks: Yeah, I'm sure there'll be a Spanish edition eventually. I hope they let me do the translation myself when the time comes.
  9. Hahaha, it took a Chilean to figure that one out. Yes, I'm a big fan of Salvador Allende. One of his nephews is a friend of mine. I even paraphrased one of his most memorable speeches in the book as a homage.
  10. Thanks, Ghadrack. TWDC: Have you published before? If not, you should try the smaller companies, it's more likely for them to publish author stuff from a newcomer. Bigger companies like Dark Horse usually require that you had worked for them on licensed books before you pitch them your own.
  11. Hey all, sorry I started a new thread about this, I didn't know about this one (been too busy to visit MW lately), but thank you all for the kind words. Well, you all guessed most of my influences, but what can I say, we all come from the same place here, don't we? Hugh: Of course the bike transforms, what's the point of having a bike in a robot story if it doesn't transform into one? BTW, the cover >EXO< posted is the old version that made it into the internet somehow. The mecha design in the background ended up with a few differences in design (Still very Shirow-esque, of course).
  12. Hey all. Just pimpin' my new book here. Issue #1 just hit the shelves in the US yesterday and there's already a nice review up at Comic Attack. This guy really nailed it. Anyway, I hope you like it and post some comments about it.
  13. If you can shell out 2300 bucks for a toy, chances are you won't give a fcuk.
  14. When I signed up in MW I wanted the Agent Bishoujo Porn Figures Fan username, but it was taken.
  15. Buy a couple and make your own. I'm waiting to hear confirmation on whether the gunpod is storable in fighter mode or not. OTOH it might be an easy mod if Bandai doesn't bother to do it themselves.
  16. I wasn't going to watch the transformation, because I'll never own one anyway, but I love all the CLICKs and SNAPs. I can't understand how Yamato can leave things as they are and not trying to find the way of mass produce this. I mean, how is this toy more complex to mass produce than the old AT-AT? That was a huge toy too (not to mention the new AT-AT which is even bigger), with lots of clicking joints and durable as hell without the use of fancy automotive industry materials. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I still don't buy Yamato's technical reasons to make this a Japanese yuppies only item. Moreover, I bet that when Yamato run out of Macross toys to make money they'll just go ahead and mass produce this.
  17. If you scroll down really fast you can see the box opening by itself as in stop motion.
  18. Actually, I think shuttle mode looks tad shorter than the lineart. They could have "stretched" it out a bit along with the legs and still make it look good. Not a deal breaker for me, really
  19. In my case the let down comes from the fact that, as far as we can see, Bandai has done very little to improve the Yamato toy. Looks like all the efforts were invested in copy Yamato's half assed engineering as close as possible. OTOH if the nose cone manages to stay in place and the wingroot gaps are gone in the final version, I'll happily buy at least one. I'm not mentioning the arms floppyness here because I honestly don't expect Bandai to even bother addressing that problem.
  20. That slot in the forearm did it, I'll get it (if I can spare the dough). I was worried the FP's were an afterthought. Let's just hope the Fast Packs won't be web shop exclusive. All this sudden fascination of japanese toy companies in web exclusive items is getting on my nerves.
  21. I dig the sculpt and the amount of detail, but I still think that the engineering is the same as Yamato's: The nosecone has no pegs to keep it in place so it sags in Bomber mode, the wingroot gaps are still there, and a picture is no indication of lack of floppiness (see >EXO<'s pic above).
  22. So the command car is coming? As a regular release? Damn! I'll have to track down a Yamato Ingram to go with it then. The command car is too cool to pass up.
  23. I've been daydreaming of doing that myself. The Aoshima legs could do the trick since the legs are better looking and the color is brighter/closer to the CM's. Anyone here knows if the legs of the Aoshima Legioss have as many breakage reports as the rest of the toy?
  24. WTF?! No Sinchro Cannon? Hey, George Sohn, you suck! Seriously now, I'm glad they decided to issue this after all. I might get one eventually, since the Blue and the Shadow Betas were the only ones in my wishlist, but not at 150 bucks.
  25. Thanks, eriku. Not digging the sculpt of the feet, besides they look too small. It's amazing it even has an ankle joint tho'. Oh, and it comes with optional TV hands too!
