  1. C'mon, Yamato. We know you're working on it and you know we know. Throw us a bone already!
  2. Same here. Besides this is the only VF I donĀ“t really care about Battroid mode (being the Battroid nut that I am), probably because there isn't really a screen accurate Battroid mode to begin with, so if Yamato ever makes this and manages to device a well balanced and mean looking Batt mode, it'll be a plus for me.
  3. That's precisely my point, if you want all three VF's, you would buy three of them, moreso if you get three full sets of extras and (check this out) no shelf warmers for Yamato! You could say Yamato saves money by giving you one extra with each Valk, but can those tiny chunks of ABS make a real difference? The feeling I keep having with this sort of merchandising decisions is that it's just too hard for Yamato to please the collectors even with small things that make all the difference. I fail see how caring for your customers goes against capitalism or making money for that matter.
  4. I hate to be the first to rant about this, but why they just didn't packed all the extras and the three heads in one single box? People would buy multiples anyway, specially considering that you'd get more sets of extras with every purchase.
  5. Nice! It even has some mecha action in it. I like how Lion-O was portrayed as a visionary. That gave the character depth and a motivation. Loved the pace too. So many stories seem so rushed up these days.
  6. It would be interesting to take a look at older variable kits/toys to see what it's doable and what isn't in terms of balance. I only owned the old Bandai 1/65 and that was many years ago. I already see a couple of things that could've been done better IMHO: to make the hips sit higher in Battroid mode and make the back wider, so the wings could fold higher up, would've made Battroid look beefier/closer to the anime. Kind of like the old Bandai did. Of course it also had a chunky F mode, but not because of the placement of the parts but because of the sculpt of those parts. The CAD shows a Battroid that's too slender for my tastes. Reminds me of the VF-0. Edit: Still looking forward to this. I'm sure it'll have a gorgeous Fighter mode and will be the funniest VF to transform.
  7. At this point I'm more interested in that Battroid CAD than the actual prototype.
  8. For those into magazines and hobby shows schedules, what would be the next most likely occasion for Yamato to show off prototype pics?
  9. I'm in a tough spot right now, but I'll try to get the S. If I can't make it, it's ok, I'll save for the D which is my favorite anyway.
  10. I disagree. I believe that the reason the Regult didn't do well is because the kit is lacking and too expensive. Consumers may not know all about the costs of releasing a new toy, HDP kit, garage kit or whatever but we all know when something is worth the asking price or not. A nice box, pilot figure, decal sheet and/or factory painting would've driven more people to get this even at a slightly higher price. If Yamato simply couldn't spice this offer up due to production costs, then Yamato made a mistake releasing it in the first place.
  11. For that price they should've included a FRIGGING PILOT!
  12. Save it! You are in my list now so you better watch yourself, you landing gear hater!
  13. Missed that, my bad. So... what are we discussing then?
  14. If the CGI movie is still up, then I'm glad for the Gatchaman hardcore fans here, but I'm not impressed at all. The overall quality is that of a videogame movie, and the direction lacks of ideas. Also it looks too kiddie for my tastes. When I first saw Gatchaman as a kid it really took me over. It wasn't that kid friendly but and that's what I liked the most about it. You could clearly set it apart from stuff like Birdman and the Galaxy Trio. I also think that the trailer taksraven posted is far better.
  15. Not being a huge fan of Yamato's current YF's, I'm still hoping that the 19 and 21 Hi-Metals do come out sometime soon and become my Mac+ dream duo.
  16. Never cared much for the 17s head or red mecha in general, but I gotta admit that the 17s in red looks pretty bad ass.
  17. Finally a Valk that's simple to transform and with the potential to become the most sturdy Yamato VF ever. I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this toy
  18. I've read some time ago that Aja choose one of the best Cobra stories to adapt (the one with the hot triplets with the treasure maps tattooed to their backs). That and the fact that Aja is a hardcore Cobra fan make for very promising start. I envy the guy so much.
  19. I'm very hyped about the Hi-Metal YF-21. I'm a huge fan of that design, and being a Battroid guy, Yamato's was a huge disappointment to me. Bandai's looks amazing so far. If Bandai releases it, I'll buy multiples too. Edit: Grammar
