  1. Don't cut the belts---remove the pins and get rid of the entire attachment point. It'll look a LOT better.
  2. eugimon--- And yes, Racetrack was the hottest.
  3. Ah, from when WalMart "expanded" their online selection to include pretty much everything from everywhere. Didn't they stop that, and now they're "just WalMart's stuff" again?
  4. Megan Fox would look even more fakey than Scarlett already does, with red dye. (few things annoy me more than fakey red dye---thing is, 90% of red dye jobs look blatantly fake from a mile away due to either being an impossible shade of red, or done on someone who clearly couldn't be a redhead anyways---or both)
  5. How on Earth did that happen? Was it in a JP box? It shouldn't have even scanned into the computers if it was a return or something.
  6. Yeah, well, they won't look so hot dead. (Ha! At least one of them dies---maybe all of them---you *have* noticed BSG likes to kill off people on a fairly regular basis)
  7. I was thinking more along the lines of Alicia Witt myself...
  8. Gubaba--I was going to mention that you were heading into a group of "skippable" episodes (especially the Sagittaron medical one). But don't worry, the end of season 3 rocks, as does the beginning and end of season 4.
  9. Gotta wonder why they didn't just, you know, hire a redhead that can act, than someone who is neither...
  10. Well, Battle 7 is awfully colorful, probably has the brightest colors of any Macross. Of course, it's from M7, so anything less would seem inconsistent with the series itself...
  11. He may also have a thing for old expensive watches and the classics, and prefer to use IIII.
  12. Yes, but Bandai seems to have gotten the whole concept backwards---the ships are intentionally "over-saturated" in real life, because so much of it is lost on-screen. If you're going for "actual studio model under normal lighting" the kit is too colorful, and if you're going for "on-screen" then it's WAY too colorful. I too have never seen any good "original 1979 paint job" pics. I don't think they exist, or they'd have shown up on the numerous "how to paint the Enterprise" threads on the 'net. (side note, IIRC, the Ent-D suffers from "double" de-saturation----the one that naturally occurs from filming, and the one the studio does because the first time they filmed it they thought it was supposed to be a grey ship, not a blueish one, and so they took out all the blue----but they couldn't go and NOT do it for all the rest of the episodes once they heard back from the original modelers/painters, so they had to keep doing it, thus a grey Ent-D). (kind of like the infamous green skin paint tests, if you know that story)
  13. There's 2 different ways of writing Roman numerals. Additive and subtractive. Subtractive was invented later. If you go back far enough, "IIII" is correct, and the ONLY way to write it at the time. Clock faces often use additive numerals--check it out, it's not hard to find a clock or watch that has IIII instead of IV. And you can also see if the watchmaker has a clue about what they're doing by checking the 9. If they used IIII, they should also use VIIII. But a lot of the time you'll see IIII combined with IX, which is just wrong---that'd be like mixing ancient greek and modern greek.
  14. Haing just watched The Island, I found her voice to be irritating under almost all circumstances. So faking an accent is kinda moot.
  15. Paramount and Bandai can say whatever they want, those colors are 10x too saturated for the Ent-A. THESE are the actual colors---this is the actual huge model built for the first movie, photographed about the time it was auctioned off. Not "studio lighting" or "ready for filming"---simply photographing it in front of a black background for reference for how it "really" looks. And there's dozens more, if color confirmation of a certain area is needed.
  16. As for punctuation, it was 10x easier to read than previous posts. Amazing what commas and periods can do.
  17. Reading deep into the lines coupled with the foreshadowing---I see that as saying Gendo ordered Touji's sister to be killed, to make her soul available for EVA-03.
  18. Seems to have the same small shoulder armor as the model kit. Inherent issue with translating the design to real-world physics?
  19. Ehh, more like 2013/2014, and don't be surprised for 2015. (I think the current UK and Australian armed forces plans are expecting 2015)
  20. 2 head units? I don't recall seeing a variation. Presumably one of them is Grace's---though I don't recall ever seeing hers in battroid mode. Or really, seeing any of the green ones in battroid mode.
  21. The F-20 would certainly have been able to use the same dual-AMRAAM and dual-Sidewinder launchers as the Hornet. It's actually compatible with nearly all Hornet racks/rails.
  22. ??? When/where is there any evidence of thought control in the -22?
  23. 787 passed its 100% static load test. However, several airliners have failed their initial 150% load test, so that remains to be seen. 787 and 747-800 still looking possible to have simultaneous first flights Dec 22.
  24. BTW, if anyone has an old/loose/broken Asajj Ventress (most any style) I'm interested in acquiring it for parts for customs etc. Or if you find one at K-Mart's current "buy 1 get 1 free" SW figure sale...
