NP, I remember your work. RL can be a real B sometimes... I've never quit the project but often put it in the back burner. I just got off a Stargate kick and after taking it as far as I could (it wasn't my project I was just helping) I am now on a TOS BSG kick. Course since I got that mega crossover fanfic I also collect many other meshes for screenie and battle scenes. We just figured out why Yamato won't fire, all the turrets were different from the game data for every turret (DOH!) lol I'm currently working on a weapon for BASARA that fires glowing musical notes or wave pulses and dose NO DAMAGE to the enemy, but does have an emp effect (it has some mass and bats them around physically and messes with their power/targeting) essential making them helpless for a few seconds each time they are hit! Oh yes the Cylons are just going to LOVE Basara! (evil grin) Hopefully sometime in the future you'll have more time available for these flights of fancy.

Hey all, I know there are several master level meshers here and was hoping just one of you would be interested in making various low poly turrets that capture the flavor of Zentreadi and UN Spacy ships. Over the years some 3d meshes have become available, but most of the time they do not have turrets or the native ones are woefully inadequate for the feel of the series. The point of this request is so a small collection of open-use turrets be made so many projects in the future (not just mine) can access them and depending on their own engine limitations, cover their meshes with these more accurate looking turrets. For sake of usability a poly budget of 20-200 would be reasonable for generic ones with 300-500 for larger more elaborate detailed ones, like main guns. No doubt if anyone were to take on this mini-project they would earn the gratitude of many people (much like Coxxon did when he released his BSG models for several diff gaming communities last year). IF a non-series person needs references I can post them, but I figure most people here know exactly what Gun/missile turrets I am talking about for both forces. Zent Capital ship weapons and UNSPACY ship weaponry. Any questions/comments pls post!

Sorry Seminnv, my post was for Ancient Angel. I should have made it a PM. We frequent a lot of the same boards and I was making a joke about his status. The same mod across several platforms. Pls Disregard... I have no skills and cannot contribute personally. I do have access to some resources though so if you make a list of 3d meshes, I might be able to scrounge some up for your consideration, and include the source for credits (MOST of the meshes I use now are from the Bothec game Macross VO).

That's why no matter how much Gamlin despised Basara (at first) he couldn't begrudge his piloting ability... He was just furious that he would fly around singing songs instead of killing the enemy (like every person of good conscious should do!) Guitar Hero: Mac 7 edition? Sounds logical but Asia only release I bet if it ever came out.

I know you wear many hats, but if you're about to jump into another long term project could you send me the newer meshes you've posted wip's of (like the new REF ones)? It would have been nice if they had added more songs instead of rotating the 2-3 main ones all the time, it really got old. I now have almost every Fire Bomber Song made and some are really good. I particularly got a kick out of Mylene doing some of the Minmay songs. Project M (military source) found out about Basara and as he gained superstar status on the Galaxy Network Charts they approached Ray and provided the Valkyries. It was always hoped by them that if a similar situation arose in the future they could use him the same way. Not quite what they bargained for eh? They never come out and say it but I would think Ray was capable of Spiritia generation with his keyboard because CHIBA quote says "Even Veffidas's drumming can produce it?!" because he can measure it on his scanner and was shocked. So Basara while the star and longest playing generator of Anima Spiritia, is NOT the sole hope most people believe. He's got three backups, but he IS the best chance of the four. I understand the Messiah angle, but I don't think it's rammed down your throat. I believe Basara says in one episode basically WHY he sings. It's also one of the times he chews Mylene out or when he's complaining about the military I don't remember which. 1.) He IS singing for himself. 2.) He sings because he wants people to understand how he feels and hopes they will feel the same way. 3.) He never reveals anything else, but hints come from outside sources about his compulsion and the whole destiny thing "move the mountain". Basara overloads the Protodevlin and also uses his feelings to cause them harm (that's why they reach a limit and have to flee, like a vampire to a cross or sunlight). At the very end he manages to break through to Gepelnitch and instead of destruction, causes the Lord to have spontaneous spiritia regeneration. Thus curing his need to drain others for sustenance. When Sivil drained Basara so severely she gained the ability unknowingly until she started to sing a few lines and felt the power while imprisoned. If you kept watching alter you could see she still retained the ABILITY to drain and cause spiritia death attacks, but chose NOT to use them except against Gepelnitch. You never ever see Basara use spiritia as an intentional "WEAPON". That's the realm of the MARDUK (M2) "The Song of War" & "Death". Tangent: I have been writing a fanfic in which I crossover many genres and also retconned M2 and M7 as the same universe. Basara has to deal with Minmay from Robotech, The Marduk emulators, and me... In the next chapter he tries to teach me how to use Anima spiritia. Also he's kind of distracted by news reports that he is possibly "obsolete" now that footage of a musical attack destroyed a ship and cause the enemy to flee, a MILITARY unit (me). Dr Hell, SG-1, and Star Wars have yet to be touched upon... (A real kick in the reality ass he needs IMHO)

Depends on which models you build. If you build from airfield they stay in Fighter Mode/moving and then in combat go to battloid mode. If you buy a small facility hangar it build in Gerwalk Mode for hovering/combat (replacing helicopters) and in movement goes to Plane Mode.

Hey Stratagos, NAh, I don't mod flight simms themselves (like Microsoft or similar programs). I mainly just Mod Freespace2 and a handful of other space combat simms and assorted games. Nice virtual cake!

I was in Walmart like 3 weeks ago and saw Command and Conquer (The First Decade) DVD. Feeling a bit nostalgic (as I only ever played the first one), I decided to buy it and get some retro gaming in and to see how the game had changed since the mid 90's. WOW! I never knew they had a MODDABLE FPS called Renegade (surprised there isn't a GI Joe mod yet). Generals was awesome and I completely enjoyed playing the USA through the entire campaign. That was the first weekend, I searched the net for mods and found one called XENOFORCE. This mod adds 3 new generals: The Macross General, The Federation General, and the Zeon General. As you can imagine you get units from all the various shows. Personally, the Macross General walks all over the other two no sweat if you keep building you swamp the enemy with gerwalk veritechs!!!!! Plus you get SDF-1 from startup and get the cannon as a General power. Later you can build battle 7 and get their cannon also and blow the map to hell. I learned how to extract meshes from the game (all made by Humora and his un-named partner so all credit to them) not only for my own projects, but I have some that definitely will improve the mod (like a better Basara, vf-1a's etc...) Their destroids however are a great boost for me!!!! I love them! I even made some humor posts about the mod. A group of vf-11's a 19 in Gerwalk mode a 21 in gerwalk mode Batloids shooting infantry I hadn't made a poster for this yet, but probably will say something about bridge weight limits, lol! sshot052.bmp

Awesome! Appreciated it, but .max is one of the few file formats I can't use (I can use .3ds though). Also something strange, the textures were with SDF-1, but Great Mazinger had none. Could you resend the meshes in .3ds or some other format (.cob,.lwo,.obj). Would it also be too much to ask if you could pose Great for his Thunder Break, and Chest Fire attacks? I'm trying to get things put together so in a short sequence you see a lot of old skool robots get ready to join their attacks and what not against modern sci-fi enemies (I have the Getter Beam, and Nadesico Gravity Blast Cannon ready, still working on lighting for Grendizer and Mazinger). No rush though! I'm just really excited cause the Great has basically the same body proportions as other Go Nagai robots and I already have a Getter heard for bashing. With a little color hue photo shopping I'd be able to make a decent/passable chassis for Getter G. Now, if only I can convince Shadow0000 to make a Getter Emperor head for me I'd be ecstatic! I've learned how to export from Gmax(md3) so some more low poly Macross models will be buffing our RT ground forces. (credit and thanks to Humora for amking a totally enjoyable mof for C&C Generals Zero Hour!!!). In the future I will be trying to IMPORT some of the models in my collection to improve what he started (the mod is still incomplete in a few issues but does work). I beat the General's Challenge no sweat as the "Macross General". I will go back later on and play as the Gundam, and Zeon Generals (also in the Mod). Just kidding people! Ignore the fact it has medium poly machine guns (that rotate when fired) sticking out of the PPC barrels as well as the chest. One of the things I need to get used to in the NEW engine is that you don't just make fire points anymore. Weapons are placed in those spots now over the mesh automatically. So I need to go back and delete all the existing MG blocks. I think there are cannon models implimented now so when I go back and delete the PPC's and move the fire point back to the arms it will auto place a PPC for me begining at the elbow when I change the text data to point away from the TEST weapon (ATM it's a 1 sec delay rotating 12k round maching run). Modding often has unexpected results...

IF it could be done well (decent casting and definately good writing/editing) I'd pay to see it! Yeh teh CGI in TF's was the absolute best thing about the movie! IT was fast and detailed, so many things changed simultaneously your brain can't register it all except, that THING turned into a Blackhawk in 5 secs!!! Holy crap! So there could be MUCH VF goodness, or sdf-1 (TV) smackdown. For the DYRL version it would have less VF action overall compared to the original Rain of fire I think

(I'm it in middle) Even funnier is the second pic, lots of casts of aniem shows in super deformed. He has DOZENS of shows depicted like Starblazers, many diff Gundams, Macross, II, Plus, 7, Slayers, Mospedia, Patlabor, Record of Lodoss war, Appleseed, Ranma, etc.. Hilarious to see them all in ONE PICTURE! There are so many, I can't pick them all out cause I don't know them to begin with...

That's hilarious! On a related note, I posted my mod's yearly update on their site and within 2 weeks it looks like they DELETED it. (nice attitude, don't like something, pretend it doesn't exist...) Oh wait that's exactly what I'm doing with Shadow Chronicles... Guess we're even then.

OK it's Monday, Let me start off by saying I am a HUGE GEN 1 FANBOY... If the following offends you keep in mind this is only my opinion. IF at any time you don't like what I post skip to the next poster (after all I ain't the gospel)... I gave this movie 8/10 simply because it's a good popcorn sci-fi flick... It lost 2 points because Bey can't keep his camera straight and the writer(s) need to be flogged... Pros: Good one liners in reference to G1 (I thought "good, they got it, there's hope for this movie in regards to TF") Spike! "Shia nailed him as a WTF? kind of awkward and confused teen" Competent military (for a movie) Transformations (nice and fast. I didn't care about HOW they did it. Hell they are living machines, could be nano tech involved. As long as they were something close to mass it was irrelevant.) Oh and the whole Frenzy phone thing, he was just a head then remember that was plausible... His later regeneration NO!!! Who's the Decepticon Medic? Action: A good amount Prime said "The Line" in the end battle when camera was on spike running in a ditch! I recommend everyone see this movie ONCE. ---------------- Cons: Some of the characters (and there are damn few of them in the movie to begin with) are confusing and even though they were introduced. I STILL didn't know WHO I was looking at in robot mode, too similar. Cause the camera moves too fast! My biggest gripe is how they all came to Earth and "fell" from orbit. It was downhill since then. I mean seriously, our tech aside from nukes can hurt THESE GUYS???? Prime burns up a few thousand degrees from re-entry PLUS the kinetic and heat energy from IMPACT but a mere 6000 degree sabot round is deadly leathal to TF's? Please... So Prime falls off a overpass and a highrise and gets all F'ed up, but falling from orbit he just dusts himself off and strolls on his merry way before that??? So far no one has been able to explain that to me. There is sooo many scenes of spike's family that are simply a waste of screen time. I was sitting there stewing, "Oh god not 2 more hours of this crap!" The house search scene was like 10-15 mins too long for just one example and also was totally idiotic! Numerous family scenes were too long or irrelevant. The theater was filled with parents and preteens and Spike's mom elaborates on "masturbation & Spike's happy time"? Great just what we needed. I knew it was mentioned before I went to the theater, but it was stated that "one of the soldiers in the beginning" referenced it (incorrect). So that took me a little by surprise. Frenzy (The spy).... First he walks off the plane standing ramrod straight tall as he can saluting to run to the police car (Barricade) in front of dozens of people and NO ONE goes WTF??? Then later he SELF REGENERATES from a tiny piece to get his body back. OK why can't bumblebee get his voice back then? Megatron... Wakes up and yells in English "I am Megatron!" nice BUT he's been INACTIVE for like 1,000-10,000 years. It was stated that Spikes great Grandfather merely activated a PROGRAM that etched the glasses. Meg was never awake or aware at any time about HUMANS. I have a fix for that: Meg wakes up and in TF lang starts freaking out and we READ IT... Then outside he meets Starscream who interfaces with him and in 10 secs he is up to date and knows what's going on and can speak English. It also would be a great time for him to plant one right in SS's face point blank range that throws him into the dam so when he gets up his imprint is in the stone and then tell him to go get the cube and "not fail a second time." That whole scene of Megan running away with bumblebee was a complete waste of time. my re-write - Spike "Oh god his legs..." BB (Transforms arms into guns)!!! Spike "...But you still want to fight" BB shakes head. Megan (takes a second to look and spots tow truck) "Help him get up, I got an idea" (turns to BB and points at Tow truck) "Listen, I drive and you shoot, ok?" Now that whole scene would make a lot more sense. I could go on, but basically I feel bad they had to throw Gen 1 out the window and start mainstream TF lore from this point on. And it's sad really, cause there is so much to the franchise ("a rich mythology") a reviewer wrote. Notes: BTW Prime did call Megatron "Brother" in the series (Cause all TF's are brothers in spirit) When they said "project Iceman" I nearly crapped myself, cause I thought at first they meant Jetfire/Skyfire (the F-14/VF-1S guy). They could have kept the cube storyline (I had no prob with the whole 'spark of life & instant creation' thing). I just wish they had the ARK and Decepticon ship come to Earth, fight , and then crash. Have Deceps wake up in 2003 start covertly assimilating in society and then have autobots wake up in 2007 and play catch up now that the Deceps are making their BIG MOVE. Could have kept the whole Teletran 1 damaged probe that scanned earth vehicles at random and healed both friend or foe and gave them alt forms based or relative mass... So to sun up, yeah I saw the movie and if they make a sequel I'll probably see that also, but that doesn't mean I still won't pick out inconsistencies with CANON. Note: Something is Canon when it is the Original source. A book can be Canon, A movie can be Canon, hell even a Comic can be Canon. It's everything AFTER that source that becomes secondary or tritary to Canon. (exception, for years Lucas said all SW is Canon, then backtracked and said EU is "mostly" Canon) Tangent Question: How does "Star Wars/Transformers" Toys make you feel? Personally I wanted to puke when I saw them in a store...

I found the AD police DVD once in a second hand store so I bought it. I got through like 10 episodes and then the last two were glitched and would not play I was PISSED!!!

Come on, basing a new series of the '84 movie wouldn't be so bad would it? (Besides the line in the beginning where spike says, "Oh S-word! Whadda we do?" is priceless)... The occasional swear and graphic dismemberment (with accompanying hydrolic fluids) and semi-interesting plotline would satisfy most adults. We just want to see some bots get wrecked and periodically scrapped beyond salvage!!! Can I get a Amen?

When I saw the Yamato/Argo break out of the underwater dock and escape into space, it peaked my interest... "They got a friggen Space Battleship?!" And then later when they first used the Wave Motion Gun it sold me 4 life. "Eat it you Gamilon Bastards!" Oh and G-force/battle of the Planets opening sequence. You know where Princess (Jun) is fliping over and over and you see her white undies...) Always tuned in to see that and if she would ever get NAKED!@!!! Hey I was like 7 or 8 give me a break...

Yes Boxer, The Characters of Macross 7 are well aware of the MOVIE "DYRL?". In the very first episode of M7 you see/hear the Battle 7 Bridge crew comparing Basara's intentions possibly to Minmay "Oh like in that MOVIE" I think the quote is... Anyway I'm sick to death of Eva (I remember sending hate mate to Gainax years ago ), if anything I'm more interested in the live action MOVIE. It's been stalled for like 2 years now, are they holding up development for the new re-imagined anime? (God I hate that term "Re-imagined"... Cause it means lack of originality bullshit)...

lol! Yeah, just try to ignore the shower of sparks from their blades parrying each other (typically in a knife fight you would never parry with your own blade, you would avoid and strike...) Anyway, related to my earlier post. Flaming from the get go is wrong, but then again if you (collectively) are building upon the backs of another person's works, you're just gonna be under that much more scrutiny and criticism...
